Chapter 153 - [153]: Spoiled Cat

Before anyone could react, the high-impact volleyball slammed into Razor's stomach—

Forcing him to double over like a shrimp, coughing up blood and clots, and stumbling several steps back.

He almost stepped out of bounds—just one step short of being eliminated.

Even though he had been warned beforehand—he still couldn't catch the ball.

Razor wiped his mouth, coughed a few times, and straightened up.

Even though that one hit had been strong enough to be fatal—

He had gripped onto the ball tightly, refusing to let it slip from his hands.

"This kid… didn't hold back at all…"

Even though he had preemptively reinforced his body, he had no way of knowing where the ball would hit.

So, he had spread his defense evenly—

Which meant… his defenses were thin.

That single hit had wrecked his internal organs.

"Hah. You think that was my full strength?"

The white-haired boy scoffed, looking at him with disdain.

What?! That wasn't his full power?!

Razor's breath hitched as he saw a massive pillar of energy surge from Cyr's body.

That level of power—

If Razor wasn't one of the game's creators—

He'd be dead.

"That spike you just sent my way? You didn't go all out either, right? I'm a pretty reasonable guy." Cyr spoke lazily.

If Razor had actually used his full power—

There's no way Sora would still be standing.

"So that stupid beast is only this spoiled because he lets it get away with everything, huh?" Killua, now much less tense, sighed in realization.

That previous spike—

It had hit Sora directly in the stomach.

And now, this guy is blatantly getting revenge for it…

Looking at Razor, who was clearly injured, Killua thought—

Cyr really didn't hold back.

"That dumb tiger is just taking advantage of being pampered."

Maro clenched his fists, speaking in a dark tone.

"Wait… are you jealous?"

Killua narrowed his eyes at him, suddenly catching on.

Despite Maro's quick denial, his irritated reaction—

It was obvious.

"Hah." Killua smirked.

Maro had two pets himself—

A cat and a dog.

"Well then—"

Razor's grin twisted into something feral.

The glow around his volleyball became brighter than ever—

But his target wasn't Cyr.

It was everyone else.

Or at least—

It should have been.

Because—

Mid-flight, the ball suddenly veered off course.

As if dragged by an invisible force, it flew directly toward the white-haired boy standing still.

"Knew it."

Cyr caught the ball with zero effort.

It spun rapidly between his palms, never actually touching him—

As if there was an invisible gap between his hands and the ball.

When it finally lost momentum, he gripped it firmly.

"'Blue' has plenty of uses."

With attraction force, he could just stand still—

And every ball would automatically curve toward him.

If this were Prince of Tennis, he basically just replicated Tezuka's Zone.

Even without moving—

Every single ball would just fly straight to him.

And thanks to his Limitless,

The ball couldn't even hurt him.

Gojo Satoru's abilities were just too broken.

Straight-up final boss material

The white-haired boy tossed the volleyball up and down in his hand, his posture casual and relaxed.

There was no telling when he would suddenly strike.

"Want to test it at full power? If I kill you, that should count as clearing the game, right?"

Razor chuckled, answering with a grin.

"Yeah, that's about right."

"Then—" The ball stopped mid-air in Cyr's hand.

"Wait!"

A sudden shout interrupted them—

It was Gon, still sitting on the sidelines.

"Sorry… I can't let you kill him."

His face was filled with guilt as he looked at Cyr.

But—

Razor knew Ging.

Razor was Ging's friend.

Gon wanted to prove himself—

To show his strength in front of someone who knew his father.

And if Ging himself could see—

That would be even better.

"I want to… Back."

He spoke the command, stepping back into the court.

His eyes were locked firmly onto Cyr.

Killua, watching from the side, immediately felt on edge.

Gon probably thought Cyr was reasonable, maybe even a good person—

But Killua knew better.

This guy—

His demeanor, his presence—

They felt exactly like home.

Like his family.

And Killua knew his family well.

There was a chance—

That Cyr could take offense at Gon's demand, get pissed, and suddenly attack him instead.

Meanwhile, Razor had his own complaints.

Why do all of you act like he could actually kill me?!

Hello?! Does no one realize how ridiculous that sounds?!

Did he look like he could be taken down so easily?!

Sure, the kid was strong—

But this was his game.

If Razor didn't want to die, Cyr couldn't kill him.

This whole situation felt… insulting.

Like they were all underestimating him.

"Alright. Catch."

Cyr spoke indifferently, tossing the volleyball toward Gon.

If Gon wanted to play, then let him play.

With that, he sat down on the court, looking completely unbothered.

Even though the game was still ongoing, he showed zero concern about getting hit.

Gon and Killua went on to catch Razor's spikes—

And of course, it was too much for them.

Killua's hands ended up swollen like pig's trotters, completely numb.

His fingers had lost all sensation.

Even Hisoka, catching the ball head-on, ended up with three broken fingers—

Granted, that was without using Ken.

Maro didn't even last that long—

Razor, seemingly pissed off, had spiked the ball with more force than before—

And Maro got knocked out of the game instantly.

As a transmutation-type, with only average physical durability—

It was only natural for him to get badly injured.

"Pfft—"

Sora, now serving as Cyr's personal backrest, snorted through one nostril—

Clearly mocking Maro.

"Just this, just this, just this, just this?!"

Sora scoffed.

It got hit too!

But did it get that badly injured?

Absolutely not.

While mocking Maro, Sora lazily swung its tail—

Hooking the injured man closer for treatment.

"At least I didn't cry." Maro spat blood, but still talked back.

"Hmph."

The giant white cat was utterly unimpressed.

Even if Maro had cried, Master wouldn't care.

Master would just think he was pathetic.

But it was different.

It was deeply cherished by its master.

The game was coming to an end.

On Razor's side, he was the only one left—

All his conjured teammates had already disappeared.

On the other side—

Killua, Gon, Hisoka, Cyr, and Sora were still in play.

Sora was injured, but since it caught the ball, it wasn't out.

Maro, on the other hand…

He failed to dodge.

So he was out.

If they just handled this last round properly—

Victory was theirs.

Killua, Gon, and Hisoka—

Together, they received Razor's spike.

And for the final strike—

Gon used his ultimate move, launching the ball back at Razor.

The force left him drained, collapsing to the ground—

But at least—

He dodged the ball Razor sent bouncing back.

Hisoka, however—

Used the rubber-like elasticity of his ability—

To send it right back.

And with the gum-like stickiness—

The volleyball got glued to Razor's hands, preventing another counterattack.

Bungee Gum has both the properties of rubber and gum.

"Monsters…"

Razor's gaze landed on Killua and Gon.

Ging, your son—

Without a doubt—

Was just as monstrous as you.

And the white-haired boy beside him—

Another terrifying creature.

But…

The other white-haired one—

With tattoos, standing off to the side—

Was even harder to ignore.

A monster among monsters.

As per their initial agreement, Razor and his men left the court.

However…

The "Seaside 1-Tsubo" card didn't appear.

…This felt familiar.

The classic setup of a chain quest.

Before Cyr's patience ran out—

Gon and the others took a female NPC to Razor's former territory—

To see the ocean.

As the sun set, dyeing the sky and sea a brilliant orange—

The screen froze.
