Chapter 300: Urshifu's Martial Combat
"Go Korrina! Go Korrina!"
Down in the stands, fans were shouting with enthusiasm for "Korrina," who clearly had a bubbly, outgoing personality. She waved to the crowd with a bright smile, soaking in the cheers.
Beside her, Lucario's eyes swept the audience, pausing as if sensing someone in particular.
Hikaru, seated in the stands, waved with a smile.
That brief resonance through their Aura allowed Lucario to instantly recognize something familiar in Hikaru. The moment he saw Hikaru wave, Lucario instinctively returned the gesture.
This puzzled Korrina, who glanced over curiously. She noticed Lucario waving toward someone, but the crowd was too full to see who. She made a mental note to ask about it after the match.
Back in the crowd, Hikaru was just catching his breath when Ryan grabbed his arm excitedly.
"Hikaru, quick—who do you think's going to win?"
Before Hikaru could answer, Urshifu struck a dramatic pose—one hand in front, the other behind, his stance brimming with intensity.
"Damn, Urshifu really is cool!" Ryan exclaimed.
Hikaru smiled and rubbed his forehead. His companion was a bit much, but harmless.
He activated [Eye of Insight]:
---
[Pokémon: Lucario]
Ability: Justified
Gender: Male
Potential: King-tier
Level: 51
Moves: Mega Punch, Aura Sphere, Work Up, Bone Rush, High Jump Kick, Karate Chop, Brick Break, Bullet Punch
---
Then looked at the opposing Pokémon:
---
[Pokémon: Urshifu (Multi-Strike Style)]
Ability: Unseen Fist
Gender: Male
Potential: Tier-3 Divine
Level: 50
Moves: Endure, Rock Smash, Brick Break, Bulk Up, Aura Sphere, Focus Punch, Fire Punch, Protect, Thunder Punch...
---
"Oh?"
Hikaru's eyes gleamed.
The earlier Urshifu—the one belonging to the gym leader—didn't have this kind of Divine-tier potential.
But this smaller, younger one did.
More than that—Hikaru could feel a bloodline connection between this Urshifu and the earlier one.
"Urshifu will win."
Both Pokémon were early Master-level, but Urshifu had superior stats, better talent, and came from a renowned training line.
Sure enough, as the energy shields rose, the match officially began.
From the very first second—
It was obvious: this was a Master-level showdown.
"Use Aura Sphere, then Bullet Punch!"
"Protect, then close the gap!"
The commands came nearly simultaneously.
Lucario instantly summoned a striped, blue Aura Sphere and hurled it forward.
Urshifu spread its arms, a glowing white shield forming in front of it. The Aura Sphere splashed against it harmlessly.
Then—Urshifu surged forward at terrifying speed.
That first move was just a feint. The real fight—the hand-to-hand battle—was just beginning.
The crowd roared in anticipation.
"Bullet Punch!"
"Read it! Urshifu!"
The moment their bodies collided—
Boom!
A massive impact erupted. The force shook the arena, sending out a strong wind blast.
Were it not for the energy shields, even the shockwave would have been enough to knock out ordinary spectators.
The air vibrated from the clash.
As the first exchange ended, both Trainers barked out more commands.
"Brick Break!"
"Headbutt!"
"Focus Punch!"
"Mega Punch!"
Punches and kicks flew, each Fighting-type move executed with surgical precision.
Up in the stands, Hikaru watched the details clearly and felt a twinge of regret.
If only his own Lucario were here...
Lucario had a slight level advantage. Its frame was more agile, and its fists light but precise.
Its Aura gave it exceptional reflexes, allowing it to sense Urshifu's movements even before they came.
But Urshifu wasn't truly defending—it was dispersing Lucario's strength with every move.
The rhythm of its breathing, the ripple of its muscles—everything followed a controlled, almost meditative pattern.
It was clear Urshifu had mastered control over every ounce of energy and stamina in its body.
By comparison, Lucario had landed a few hits, but none with full force.
Every strike was absorbed into soft resistance—like punching cotton.
Lucario's trainer realized this quickly, and thanks to their Aura bond, Lucario did too.
It knew—it wouldn't win if things continued like this.
With a few agile jumps, Lucario leapt back, panting as it stared at Urshifu.
In a fight between Fighting-types of similar strength,
every bit of stamina counted.
They didn't rely on flashy tricks.
Endurance and raw will were everything.
From across the field, Urshifu's Trainer smirked.
"You figured it out, huh?"
Then he gave the next command.
"Rock Tomb!"
Both Trainers were clearly veterans, acting in perfect sync with their partners.
Urshifu needed no further instruction.
It stepped lightly on the ground—
And rock-like energy began to materialize, forming a cage around Lucario.
Korrina responded instantly:
"Lucario! Close your eyes—sense it with Aura!"
But escaping Rock Tomb wasn't easy.
Even with Aura activated and Extreme Speed engaged, Lucario couldn't fully dodge. One foot got caught.
Feeling the trap lock onto his leg, Lucario's eyes narrowed.
Even without Korrina saying anything, he began charging an Aura Sphere.
Boom!
The blast shattered the rocky prison, sending debris and dust everywhere.
But Lucario's heart sank—
Because through the haze—
Two fists were closing in fast.
"Urshifu! Close Combat!"
At this level of battle, one mistake could cost everything.
Lucario managed to block the first strike or two—
But caught off-guard, with his balance off and stamina depleted—
He couldn't hold on.
The punches came down like rain, one after another—
Relentless.
