The Daoist in yellow was originally known as the Netherworld Daoist. His true form was that of a Ghost Immortal from the Underworld, a personage who had attained the Dao in the Primordial Era. His cultivation of the Netherworld Immortal Scripture was utterly distinct from the other Ghost Immortals, and his Netherworld Water could extinguish a person's Primordial Spirit and transform one's physical body, making him a dreadfully terrifying figure in the Underworld.
The towering man clad in dark light and wearing an Emperor's Crown had an even more imposing origin. He was one of the Five Ghost Emperors, known as the Eastern Ghost Emperor, Shen Tu. His mastery of the Ghost Path was matched by few in the Three Realms.
