Chen Ying and the chief veterinarian of the Bear Garden used two devices to check and confirmed that the female bear had not gotten pregnant with cubs.
Chen Ying held the young female bear and gave her a vigorous rub.
"It's okay; in a few more months you can become a mother. By next winter, you'll have two chubby little cubs, and I'll help you raise them."
Knowing she didn't have cubs, the young female bear felt downhearted, touching her round belly and making a "woo woo" sound.
A street rat came over, holding it and feeding it a honeycomb that had been bitten twice.
The young female bear shook her head and sluggishly returned to her cave to nest.
"It's okay; it'll be fine once she actually becomes a mother."
The Bear Garden veterinarian patted Chen Ying on the shoulder, "You've done very well; I look forward to working with you next time."
Taking the opportunity of conducting a pregnancy check on the young female bear, they also checked her overall health condition.
