Chapter 112 - BackStory: Limitless

Now, as the great battle in Crazed Demon Cave unfolds, he returns—reborn and unchained—after a lifelong war against the chaos carved into his very being.

The true author of the Legends of Ren Zu.

Yes, it was him who wrote the Legends of Ren Zu. Who else could it have been? No human created through Derivation Gu—using Ren Zu's flesh—could retain any memory of Ren Zu or his original children. That's because Derivation Gu consumes memories as nourishment and uses flesh to produce new lifeforms. These lifeforms are inferior by nature and unable to inherit true legacy.

Humans born through this method were called "lower humans" by Li Tian, though this truth was hidden in a special page, not found in the public version of the book. These humans couldn't carry rank 9 Gu worms like Ren Zu or his children. They lacked a perfect foundation.

Only when a lower human reaches the rank 9 venerable stage do they evolve into a higher human. Even then, it's not perfect.

A perfect human body is rare. It can hold all types of Dao Marks and Gu without issue. Fang Yuan's Sovereign Immortal Fetus Gu body and Li Tian's Chaos Demon Body are examples—they can carry rank 9 Gu and multiple Dao types at once.

That's why Ren Zu became a rank 9 venerable the moment he opened his aperture. He was never derived—he was the source. And so was Li Tian, born from Ren Zu's ashes and chaos.

Li Tian wrote the book because deep down, he wanted to remember his lost siblings. But because of his curse, his memories faded each life. To stop forgetting, he recorded everything, embedding a hidden truth page within the story.

Unlike the others created through Human Path, this hidden page was made through Chaos Path. It could only be seen by someone with a Chaos Dao Mark—an otherworldly dao mark. That meant only otherworldly demons could find it, and only if they reached quasi-supreme grandmaster in Chaos Path. The page itself was written using Li Tian's soul which is marked and cursed by chaos dao mark.

The only person who ever read the hidden page of Human Path was Limitless. He had reached supreme mastery not just in Rule Path, but in Human Path as well—though few knew of this and that was limitless himself.

Li Tian and Limitless had met several times during the Limitless Era. However, by the time Limitless read the hidden page, Li Tian had already died and been reborn in future of another era—an era where Limitless was no longer alive.

As children, they had shared the same mother. They were blood brothers. But Li Tian died during a mission before either of them realized the truth of their connection.

Back then, Limitless had often heard Li Tian muttering things like, "I need to get my memories back… by killing all the otherworldly demons." Limitless didn't understand it at the time. When he asked, Li Tian simply said he didn't know either. After becoming venerable he searched through the Life and Death Door, Limitless couldn't find any trace of his brother's soul.

It wasn't until he read the hidden page that everything became clear. The 'otherworldly demons' Li Tian spoke of were those who possessed Chaos Dao Marks—also known as Otherworldly Dao Marks—marks that came from outside the Gu world and didn't naturally exist within it.

Li Tian had used his Chaos Dao Mark—massive and deeply embedded in his soul—as a medium to transmit memories to others. To reduce the curse, Li Tian had to perform the first step: seal it. After doing that, he could then seal the memories themselves—anchoring a singular goal in his soul to keep him on track across millions of years, even as his body and identity changed through endless rebirths.

And from the day Limitless read the hidden page, he began preparing for the battle in Crazed Demon Cave—gambling everything on the possibility that his brother, Li Tian, the youngest and final son of Ren Zu, would return there.

He longed to meet his brother again. Even if Li Tian no longer remembered their past lives, Limitless never forgot. In the lifetime they shared, Li Tian was his elder brother—his protector. When they were children, Li Tian had always shielded him, taking the blame and the punishments in his place.

He was more than just a sibling; he was a guardian. The warmth and sacrifices from those days still lived on in Limitless' memory. He could still recall every detail of their journey together, a bond that transcended time and rebirth.

The only reason why Limitless sought after eternal life is becasue so he could end his brother suffering of eternal reincarnation, because he knew the answer to become eternal is in gaining control over chaos energy and it will allow him to become eternal and achieve eternal life. Which will let him end his brother suffering and let him live a normal life.

When Li Tian became a demon venerable, Limitless knew about it, but he could tell from how Li Tian died- getting blasted away by chaos energy. It was said that the heavenly court venerables were the ones who killed him, but no, he died due to the uncontrollable chaos energy in his body.

Limitless knew he would survive, albeit weak. Before he died, he heard of Li Tian's future plan to be revived in the same body after the fate war, which means after Fate Gu is destroyed. This is why Limitless agreed to it and helped Fang Yuan significantly in the fate war, not because of the Giant Sun being from the Northern Plains or his desire to achieve eternal life; for him, his brother is more important than others.

From beginning to end, everything went according to Li Tian's plan- not a single mistake occurred.

Thinking about the past—about Li Tian, about their childhood, about the truth he had uncovered—gave Limitless a momentary surge of strength. He resisted the chaos energy trying to leak out and tear him apart from within. But the energy was too much. It kept overflowing, pushing him to the brink of destruction.

Then, suddenly, another energy flowed into him.

It wasn't his own.

This energy was calm, stabilizing. It wrapped around the raging chaos, suppressing it with ease. The turbulence stilled. The eruption halted. And in that silence, Limitless finally took full control.

That was the moment he achieved eternal life.

I apologize for the delay; I had a Biology test today and needed to study. I will have many tests coming up weekly for the next month and a half, so my upload schedule will be like that.

When I am writing this chapter, I realised that in the past chapters I should have made the human path highest and first to reach supreme grandmaster, it would have potential foreshadowing here in this chapter, I missed it.

I thank you all for your patience.
