On his way to deliver the Blazing Resin to Ma Xiaotao, Qian Ran was stopped by a senior from the inner court wearing the academy's uniform.
"Cai Mei'er and Yan Shaozhe have invited you to dinner," the senior said.
Hearing this, Qian Ran immediately understood.
"Ah, so this is Cai Mei'er's surprise for me? I like it."
It seemed Cai Mei'er had been taking lessons from Zhou Yi's playbook. Qian Ran couldn't help but admire women who were eager to learn.
He made his way to Cai Mei'er's residence, recalling the address. Upon reaching the door, he rang the bell.
"Qian Ran's here already? So early!" Cai Mei'er exclaimed with a delighted smile as she ran to the door.
"Where's Yan Shaozhe?" Qian Ran asked in a hushed tone, peeking inside before speaking.
Yan Shaozhe wasn't someone to take lightly. Unlike Fan Yu, who Qian Ran had no qualms about subduing, Yan Shaozhe's strength and position made him a more delicate matter. Fan Yu had been easy to cow into submission, but Yan Shaozhe's status as a Sea God Pavilion elder demanded caution.
Fan Yu could be silenced without much fallout, but taking action against Yan Shaozhe would undoubtedly escalate into a full-blown conflict with Shrek Academy.
Qian Ran wasn't reckless. With both Cai Mei'er and Xian Lin'er now at level 97, holding prestigious positions in the academy, he had no reason to jeopardize his advantageous situation.
Currently, he wielded immense influence within the academy, especially in the outer and inner courts. Stirring unnecessary trouble with someone like Yan Shaozhe would be counterproductive.
"He's inside, kneeling on a durian," Cai Mei'er whispered, pointing towards a room.
"Kneeling on a durian? That's… a thing?" Qian Ran was momentarily stunned.
He had heard of people using this as a gimmick in relationships, usually as a humorous apology gesture. It seemed ridiculous to associate it with someone like Yan Shaozhe.
"Big shots sure know how to play," Qian Ran muttered, chuckling. "Fine, you kneel your way; I'll have my fun."
Cai Mei'er smirked at Qian Ran's reaction but didn't comment. She understood perfectly how the balance of power had shifted in her relationship with Yan Shaozhe. Despite his status, Yan Shaozhe was utterly desperate to win her back, and that desperation had given her the upper hand.
"Never thought Yan Shaozhe, the great Dean, would stoop to this," Qian Ran said, his tone tinged with amusement as he slipped an arm around Cai Mei'er's slender waist.
The warmth of his breath against her ear made her shiver, her legs weakening under his touch.
"Qian Ran, you're here. I still have some matters to take care of—why don't you wait in the living room for a bit?" Yan Shaozhe's voice called out from deeper within the house.
"Got it. You take your time, Dean. I'll help Cai Mei'er in the kitchen," Qian Ran replied casually, his voice carrying just the right hint of respect.
Once he was certain Yan Shaozhe wouldn't leave his study before dinner, Qian Ran let his inhibitions go.
As he held Cai Mei'er close, her long legs, encased in flesh-colored stockings, wrapped themselves around his waist. Her tight pencil skirt had ridden up, revealing even more of her curvaceous figure.
"I've prepared a special surprise for you," Cai Mei'er whispered, her voice tinged with mischief.
"Can't wait," Qian Ran said, his anticipation growing.
Cai Mei'er briefly checked on Yan Shaozhe, opening the door to ensure he was still kneeling obediently on the durian. Satisfied, she headed to the bedroom to prepare.
When she emerged five minutes later, Qian Ran's eyes widened.
Cai Mei'er had changed into a stunning dance outfit he had never seen before.
Her top was a blue, sheer, cropped halter that barely covered her voluptuous chest. Gold tassels hung from the hem, adding an extra layer of allure. Her skirt, also blue and sheer, had a front hem that extended just past her knees, with a shorter back hem adorned with matching tassels. Gold dance shoes completed the ensemble, highlighting her shapely legs.
It was a dance dress, no doubt, but one that veered toward the seductive end of the spectrum. On an ordinary dancer, it might have looked elegant. On Cai Mei'er, with her full, curvaceous figure, it was breathtakingly provocative.
Cai Mei'er began to move, her body swaying like a willow tree in the breeze. Her steps were graceful yet tantalizing, every movement designed to captivate.
Even though Qian Ran wasn't an expert in dance, he found himself completely entranced.
"She must've learned this quickly just for me," Qian Ran thought. With her formidable talent, Cai Mei'er could master such skills effortlessly if she put her mind to it.
As she twisted her supple waist in a spin, the hem of her skirt lifted, revealing glimpses of her snow-white thighs. When she leaned toward Qian Ran, her face close to his, her leg arched gracefully behind her, offering a momentary glimpse of perfection.
Qian Ran didn't hesitate to kiss her, a deep, passionate kiss that left them both breathless.
With a playful shove, Cai Mei'er spun away, her movements taking her to the center of the living room. Her hips swayed hypnotically, and her golden tassels sparkled under the light as they danced in time with her body.
Her expression was a perfect mix of arrogance and seduction, her every step a statement of her confidence.
Qian Ran was spellbound.
"Cai Mei'er, you're incredible!"
It wasn't hard to see why Xian Lin'er had lost out to Cai Mei'er back in the day.
In this aspect, Cai Mei'er had no equal.
While Xian Lin'er remained too reserved to perform such a dance, Cai Mei'er embraced her sensuality without hesitation. Even when Qian Ran had repeatedly asked Xian Lin'er to let loose, she had refused, sticking only to classical, traditional dances.
Cai Mei'er, however, had no such reservations. Her natural charm and uninhibited personality shone through in every movement.
"Have I satisfied you, little man?" Cai Mei'er asked, her voice dripping with confidence.
Qian Ran's adoring gaze filled her with pride. She knew that even after all these years, her allure remained unparalleled.
Even Xian Lin'er couldn't compare.
"Poor Xian Lin'er, it seems you've lost to me once again. You'll never understand men like I do," Cai Mei'er thought, a wicked smile gracing her lips as her eyes glimmered with a predatory light.
