Chapter 124 - Sculpting

Blade exhaled, wiping the sweat from his brow. He held up the finished sword, its blade now radiating a dark violet glow with red inscriptions pulsating along its edge.

Granny Spirit clapped her hands. "Hah! Told you it'd work!"

Blade smiled, feeling the sword's raw power in his grip. "Yeah… and now I can work on real thing"

[New Skill Acquired: Blueprint/Production Method Modification!]

He grinned. If he could modify weapons like this… he can create better items.

Blade took a deep breath as he prepared to forge the true version of the Hell Lightning Blade from scratch. The trial run had been a success, but now it was time to create the real thing—one without any imperfections.

Granny Spirit floated beside him, watching with excitement. "Good! Now you're actually doing it right from the start!" she cackled.

Blade ignored her teasing and focused. This time, he wouldn't just merge an existing sword with rare materials—he would craft every part of the weapon himself.

"Blueprint Modification," Blade mumbled, activating his recently acquired skill.

[Please specify the blueprint.]

The system prompted as Blade dragged the Lightning Sword blueprint onto the interface.

[Please add the modification material.]

Blade then dragged the icon of the Astaroth Horn onto it.

[Modifying...]

[Modification complete.]

[New Blueprint: Lightning Hell Duke Sword has been obtained.]

Blade's eyes widened slightly. "Duke?" He hadn't expected the new sword to gain such a title. Weapons with noble titles in their names were usually at least Epic-grade or had the potential for growth.

Granny Spirit whistled. "Well, well! Looks like your little experiment worked better than expected! A 'Duke'-class weapon, huh? If you forge it correctly, this might end up surpassing what you originally planned."

Blade nodded as he began the forging process.

After a Day, golden pillar of light rose from the smithy as Blade looked at the plain sword he was holding.

[The growth type item, 'Sealed Lighting Hell Duke Sword' has been successfully produced!]

[As the first player to produce a growth type item, the title 'Person who has Reached the Absolute Truth of Battle Gear' has been acquired.]

[The title effect 'increased item experience gain' passive will always apply!]

[ If the Sword reaches the Legendary rating you will be the Legendary blacksmith too ]

"Woah! You made it and that at your first try" Granny said excitedly as he nodded and then inspected the sword.

[Sealed Lighting Hell Duke Sword]

Rating: Normal (Growth)

Durability: 360/360 Attack Power: 401

Skill : Lightning Edge is generated

- Lightning Edge : Each Critical hit deals additional 1000% of user magical damage as lightning damage. The Lightning can spread to 10 other targets within 100 meter range if same target is dealt critical damage twice in a battle.

* One option is added every time the rating increases.

The Master blacksmith Blade made a longsword with skills and a commitment beyond human limitations.

A blade of steel that was hammered with Great Demon body for 26 hours, it is beyond ideal and has a transcendent power.

However, it is limited by the typical form, causing its power to be sealed.

It will gradually find the right form and release its true strength in the process of being cut, hit and reworked.

User Restriction: Level 300 or higher. Intermedia Sword Mastery level 7. 1,500 strength. ]

Blade mumbled in surprise as Granny advised, "You should give the sword you got from the Emperor to your uncle, while this one should go to your subordinates." She looked at him expectantly, but he shook his head.

"No, I made it for him," he said firmly.

Behind him, Granny smiled approvingly. "Good. By the way, you can raise its rating now," she added.

"The Soul Orbs—feed them to the sword," she instructed.

Blade took out a common-rated Soul Orb from his inventory, obtained from slaying a Grey Wolf. As he placed it near the longsword, the weapon absorbed it instantly, and its experience increased by 10%.

"Oh! It really works!" Blade exclaimed, turning to Granny. "Damn, Granny, this is a broken skill you got!"

Granny gave him a smug smile. "I was a My... I mean I was that great," she said proudly. Then she added, "Now keep feeding it wolf-type Soul Orbs in your possession."

Blade nodded and continued feeding the sword. His Soul Orb Skill had a 10% chance of activating, meaning out of every ten wolves killed, one would drop a Soul Orb. Fortunately, after eliminating an entire pack of over fifty wolves, he had plenty stored up.

Finally, as he fed the last Soul Orb to the sword, it glowed brightly.

[ Sealed Lightning Hell Duke Sword rating has increased from Normal to Uncommon ]

[ New Skill Unlocked: Wolf Strike ]

[ Wolf Strike: Releases a lightning wolf with a slash that deals 1500% piercing and lightning damage to a target. ]

"So, this is the reason you asked me to keep feeding it wolf-type Soul Orbs, huh?" Blade asked.

Granny nodded. "Yes. While Soul Orbs have the advantage of increasing a growth-type sword's rating, they also have a drawback. Instead of generating a skill suited to the wielder, the sword will develop a skill based on the type of Soul Orbs used," she explained.

Blade nodded in understanding. "So I guess I'll just raise it to Epic and then give it to him, leaving the Unique and Legendary skill slots open for him to develop," he said.

Granny smiled. "That would be a good idea."

With that, Blade began feeding the sword more Soul Orbs. Since he had never used them before, they had piled up in his inventory. One by one, he infused them into the sword, watching as its power grew.

[ Sword Rating Increased to Epic ]

[ New Skills Gained ]

Lightning Road

Lightning Discharge ]

"They're good skills," Blade mumbled as he read their descriptions.

Lightning Road was an AOE (Area of Effect) skill that released a cone-shaped slash, creating a temporary lightning zone that continuously dealt electric damage to anyone in the area. The initial slash itself inflicted 1,000% lightning damage to multiple enemies in sight.

Lightning Discharge, on the other hand, was a massive lightning burst with an AOE range of 100 meters, dealing 2,000% damage to all targets within its range. However, it did not differentiate between allies and enemies, meaning it had to be used carefully.

"This is enough for now," he said as he walked out of the smithy.
