David chuckled while wiping the blood from his nose. He lifted his head to look at Jess, who gazed down at him with a frown.
"I have to admit, you're very strong for a beast." He revealed a bloody grin, staring defiantly at Jess. "But this will be the last mistake you'll ever make."
"Tough talk from someone struggling to get on their feet." Jess snorted, slowly approaching the count. "One way or another, you'll be paying for your sins."
"Oh, I beg to differ, sweetheart." The count shook his head, shedding every trace of fear he once showed. "I didn't want to do this because of the loss I'd take, but… You leave me no choice."
Jess wasn't sure what the count was talking about. Taking his words as the final ones of a doomed man, she got in close.
However, the catwoman caught sight of something. The study trembled for a moment as glowing magic runes suddenly appeared on all four walls, the floor and the ceiling.
"What the hell are you doing?"
