"Is it over?" The Archangel muttered to himself as his breathing was very rough, a testament to his extreme exhaustion from fighting the devils left and right continuously for an entire day.
"Not yet." I said as I floated beside him.
Ever since we started fighting the devils together, I get to know the angel's name.
Dohnaseek
"Are you seriously asking that now? After the show that you just put earlier?" I smiled while giving him the side-eye.
Earlier, Dohnaseek has been engaging battles with the devils, doesn't matter if he's surrounded or outnumbered, Dohnaseek seemed to have some sort of a battle maniac personality, preferring to fight alone and encircled.
"Haha! Can't help it. Fighting devils fills up the missing part in my heart. What do you call it? Thrill? Something like that." Dohnaseek grinned and laughed out loud.
"Heh, battle junkie." I chuckled at his response.
Can't blame him. Fighting does indeed thrill someone up. Even I am among them.
"You're one to talk. You're devastating thousands of them in mere seconds. How strong are you really?" Although Dohnaseek's question sounds more like a rhetorical but I caught the underlying meaning behind his intention.
His question isn't rhetorical but a really curious one.
"I'm not sure. How strong do you think I am?" I smirked as I throw the answer back to him.
"….Definitely stronger than me so maybe around the level of a Seraphim? I'm an Archangel which is two levels below them, so you're definitely as strong as a Seraphim like Lord Michael." Dohnaseek took his time to think before grinning as he answered.
"Correct. Two points for Gryffindor!" I answered.
"Huh?" Dohnaseek confusedly stared at me after uttering a bunch of nonsense when it comes to him.
"It's nothing. Ignore it." I said while waving my hand in dismissal.
"…Okay?" Albeit wanting to know what it means, Dohnaseek knows when to ask and what questions to ask.
"By the way. What do you mean earlier that the fight is not over yet?" He raised his eyebrow while changing the topic.
"I'm the mysterious guy who tipped you angels the information about the invasion." I answered and watched the display of shock on his face.
Laughing mentally in my mind, he replied.
"You're that guy? Do you know how huge of a help you've been to us?!" Dohnaseek smiled gleefully as he shook my shoulder as if we're close friends.
"Well, I aim to end the Great War for the sake of humans, so yeah, I know I've been a huge help." I shrugged my shoulders and acted as if I've grown immune to praises and such.
Though deep inside, my heart was filled with happiness that I was able to make someone, especially an angel like Dohnaseek grateful for me.
"Well, thanks to you. We finally have a chance at ending this war with us being the winners." Dohnaseek smiled however, it soon faltered when the horde of devils suddenly stopped.
"Why'd they stopped?" Dohnaseek frowned as he questioned to himself.
"The second wave should be coming and with how their plan was a failure. This second wave would become a bit unpredictable." True to my words, the moment I was finished, countless teleportation circles appeared and the previous small amount of devils suddenly multiplied tenfold, filling the battlefield to the brim with devils.
This time, the devils looked more humane and not hideous like the low and mid-class devils are.
Not only that, the devils are now more organized than before.
There also seems to be armies belonging to the 72 pillars, as some parts of the battlefield was filled with flags containing the symbols of the 72 pillars of the Underworld.
I even recognized a few of them.
Bael, Gremory, Agares, Vassago, Marbas, Valefor, Amon and even some Six Houses belonging to the Lucifer clan such as the Lucifuge and Nebiros.
A quick scan on them already tells me that most of the devils here are Mid to High-class in terms of strength while the ones leading the respective clan armies were Ultimate class devils, the same as their heads.
"This will be troublesome." I muttered to myself which the Archangel beside me heard.
"Yeah. Though they're not the only ones with reinforcements." Just as he finished his words with confidence, the dark clouds in the sky were once again pierced by a beam of bright golden light, further lighting the bloody battlefield.
"They're here!" The angels covered with a mix of their own and devils' blood beamed up in happiness as they cheered.
Diving forward were a bunch of new batch of angels, their pair of wings ranging from 3 to 4 pairs.
A bunch of Archangels and Cherubims, wielding nothing but a bunch of light swords or spears in their hands.
Dohnaseek sighed in relief while wiping off the sweat that has accumulated on his forehead.
Me, on the other hand, was mesmerized by their presence, as if God himself was standing before me, though I know that isn't the case, it's just the holy energies they're radiating and being combined that made it seem as if God himself was here already.
'Michael and the Seraphims aren't here yet. They're probably waiting for Lucifer and the Satans to show up along with the rest of the remaining powerhouses in the Underworld.' I muttered to myself as I assumed the plan that Michael has made.
Knowing him, he's probably watching over the battlefield right now, waiting for his fallen sibling to appear.
According to our last conversation, Michael intends to clash with Lucifer first, to try to defeat him or at least weaken him before facing God.
Although Michael was training with his Holy Energy everyday, Lucifer has made leaps and bounds through the use of his Demonic Energy.
In fact, when Lucifer fell, some may thought that he was weakened but it's actually the opposite, by falling through grace, it just strengthened him and gave him the leeway to create an energy that is considered broken as fuck.
So should Michael be blamed for Lucifer becoming stronger than his Seraphim counterpart?
Maybe.
"Heretics! Surrender now or face the wrath of God!" Leading the angels was a figure with 5 pairs of wings, indicating his rank as a Seraphim.
'So there was a Seraphim. Weird, I almost didn't notice him.' I muttered to myself as I stared at the majestic figure in the sky.
His voice reverberating across the battlefield, causing everyone to look up to him.
"Heretics? Heh, they didn't learn any words other than that? They've been saying the same thousands of years ago!" My sharp hearing almost caused me to let out a stiffled laugh after hearing one of the devil's reaction.
'He got you good. Though if only you heard it.' I mentally said to the Seraphim.
"Don't bother with useless speeches! Let's settle this with our fists!" A devil belonging to the Bael clan, known for their trait of Destruction Energy that is capable to tearing through almost anything, roared before leading the charge.
"Huraaahhh!"
"For the Satans!"
"Hail Lucifer!"
On the Angel's side, they also yelled their catchphrases.
"For the love of God!"
"God's glory!"
"Charge!"
Two sides, one from the sky while the other from the ground, collided with each other, tearing one another apart using their fists or spells.
At first, the Angels had the advantage as their Holy Energy allowed them to burn through the devils with ease.
But when the High-class devils belonging to the famous clans joined in the fray, the tables started to turn.
The Bael clan with their Destruction Energy pushed through the ranks of Angels, decimating everything in their path.
The Angels all quickly backed away, avoiding the onslaught of the Bael clan devils.
Aside from them, the other clans were also doing their jobs, killing as much angels as they can.
Unfortunately for them, I'm here, so their plan isn't about to succeed.
Just as they're about to continue their path of destruction, I immediately intervened by launching myself on the horde of Bael clan devils.
Currently, they're the ones with the most dangerous ability, their trait is an absolute menace to crowds.
These Bael devils can recklessly throw their orbs of destruction energy and they can still get tens of kills.
With me on the fray, I started killing devils left and right.
At first, the Bael devils underestimated me, either ignoring me or simply throwing a destruction orb before outright ignoring me, thinking I'd fall to their attacks.
Looks like Zekram's clan members have grown arrogant due to their clan trait.
Tsk tsk, a common mistake that can be seen on an individual who has a great power but not invincible.
This might lead to Bael clan's fall if not cured any sooner.
It didn't take long for the devils to notice me when they saw that I'm still alive and kicking, even tanking their destruction energy orbs with ease.
"W-What the? Who is he?!" One of the Bael's was the first to notice the anomaly, which is me.
Soon, it didn't take long before I catch everyone's attention, including the angel reinforcements.
My Eldritch spells were quick to grab their attentions as my Tao Mandalas and Mystic Whips danced around the battlefield.
My whips were dragging devils towards me before being sliced in half vertically by my Tao Mandalas.
If only my students were here to see that the two basic spells that they underestimate can be very deadly once wielded by a person who knows how to properly use them.
Those fools always thought that the flashiest the spell is, the stronger it is.
Heck, even the portals, which can only be used by transportation were being used by me to slice devils in half or redirect their attacks back to them.
As for exposing myself to Zekram? There's no need to bother with that guy. I wouldn't stand down and watch as the human world is desecrated by the Great War just because their leader have some daddy issues.
Once the war is done, no doubt Zekram will become my enemy, which might be a headache but nothing a little ol' me can fix in the future.
Yes, I'm leaving my future problems to the future me. Surely during that time, future me would've thought of the solution.
"You Phenex bastards! Deal with this insect!" One of the Ultimate class leaders belonging from the Bael clan, immediately realized that with how offensive I am, they couldn't deal with me through normal means.
'Do they think sending someone who are rumored to be immortals due to their regeneration is enough?' I mentally smirked as hundreds of devils with fiery wings charged down towards me.
Their hot and flaming wings indicating the clan that they belong to.
The Phenex Clan!
Unbeknownst to the flying chickens, what will happen next will be wrote down in their history as the day they realize they're not as immortal as they thought.
