There are two reasons why they do this. First, the blood will allow the Mithril Relic to be bonded to the Maugnetic. It will allow them to much more easily channel their Aubilities through this weapon.
The second reason is that the Soo has a special property that allows the Mithril Relic to withstand the power of a Diva. Without Soo, the Mithril Relic would start to disintegrate per use, completely wasting the weapon."
