"And I didn't ask you either. I'm simply stating facts," he folded his arms across his chest. I took in his tattoos and found it strange they almost mirror Edwards. Did they mirror each other that much? "I'm not here to tell you to not hurt my brother. I'm not an idiot I've known he's had a crush on you. Just don't hurt him okay. He's been pleasantly happy these days."
I pressed my lips together and nodded. "I won't."
"And if you know you don't have long term plans with him, end it now. You're not the type to want to get married to a man and make it public. EJ has those plans and I don't want you influencing him."
"I won't," I mumbled. "You're the last person I would want to come to for help."
"And you're the last person I would want to help," he inspected my bruise again. "What happened? EJ didn't fight you again."
I shook my head and allowed my eyes to drift to our reflection. I looked like a miserable mess. "No. It wasn't him."
