Chapter 32 - To the heaven

Chapter 31

Gabriel quietly descends to the edge of the city while also pulsing her holy energy. Signaling to Serafall Leviatan, who was currently in the city, that she had come and wanted to take one of her brothers to where he belonged.

(Serafall)

"Why did she come here so fast?" Serafall whines on the inside as she turns to her sister to bid her farewell.

Slowly her face scrunched as she walked to her sister. Her footsteps were slow and shaky as she took step after step. Each step was a deep reminder of how long she wouldn't see her sister and how much her sister would miss her while she was away for work.

Finally, when she was about a meter away from her. Her sister finally look back at her with her eyebrow raised, and her eyebrow raised in a questioning gesture.

The word she wished she would never have to say comes out of her mouth. "So-tan, although I wanted to spend more time with you, I have work to do."

Her eyes fall to the ground as she can't bear to look at how much her sister's heart will be broken by her cruel words.

It would probably shatter her world into tens of pieces, no, hundreds of pieces, but she had to say it as leaving without telling would only give her false hope.

But from the edge of her vision, she saw something that profoundly confused her.

She saw her precious sister taking on a relieved pose with her back stretched and her hand on her glasses.

The glasses that her precious sister wore reflected the light of the morning sun as the edge of her precious sister's mouth curved upwards into the shape of a subtle yet relieved smile.

But she shook her head a second later, thinking that she was hallucinating due to how much relucent she felt. After all, why would her sister be happy, no, relieved, when she left?

"I understand, after all, you are one of the Maous, and it should be expected for you to be busy. Though, sister, do you want a cup of tea before you leave?" Sona Stiri, her sister's voice, was the slightest bit more energetic, just a tiny bit different from just a few minutes ago, a slight difference that she noticed due to her monstrous senses. But Serafall denied it; no, her mind refused to believe anything that the logical part of her said. Thinking that her reluctance was on strike again.

"Although I want to, I can't. Someone is already waiting for me," Serafall said as she turned around and opened the window. Couldn't bear looking at the strong front her sister put up to calm her big sister's heart.

When she opened the window, the fresh and slightly cold wind of the morning embraced her as it flooded the room with its wind.

The wind wrapped her gently as if in an embrace and the cool wind of the winter caressed her hair, soothing her aching heart. Serafall turned to her sister one last time before jumping out of the window. Instantly disappearing from where she once stood.

Sona Stiri, who just saw her sister disappear instantly, seemed to weaken as she fell to the couch behind her. Her back was fully touching the back of the couch as she leaned back. Tsubaki, her queen, injects from beside her. "Miss Serafall is still as energetic as ever."

Sona just nods with her eyes closed. "Yes, more than usual, I might say."

.

Serafall flew towards the angel's location while also pulsing her own demonic energy, signaling to Gabriel, one of the seraphs, to follow her.

A thing that Seraph understood just a second after Serafall started pulsing her demonic energy. As she sensed it, she started following her. But not through the city, instead circling a bit around it.

A gesture that Serafall understood.

Gabriel was trying to keep her distance from the Kuoh school to not give her a wrong idea. A polite and accommodating gesture she might say.

With a trail of seven different colors, she closes in on where the angel is located. But midway through, just a kilometer or two away from the angel, she sensed another angel.

An angel that was barely in the mid-tier but still a mid-tier angel.

But Serafall didn't think much of it, just thinking that it was one of the scouts Heaven sent before Gabriel came. After all, although negligible, there is a possibility that all this could be a trap. At least Serafall would think so, especially considering the not-so-great reputation the devils have. A thing that is becoming worse and worse due to the peerage system and how the young generation is abusing them like crazy, heck, even the older generation wasn't much better.

Fuuuuummmmm

With a blowing of wind and a simple thud, she lands right beside the angel. Startling the creatures that were guarding the angel in the process. Which consists of one goblin and a few beastmen, though now that she thought about it, the young goblin is nowhere to be seen with only the older goblin remaining. But she didn't put much thought into it, after all, it was only a low-class goblin.

Just a few seconds later, with a pure white trail, Archangel Gabriel follows right behind her.

"Serafall Leviatan, it's wonderful to see you again." A serene voice of the seraph follows soon after.

With an exaggerated flourish, Serafall stuck her signature magical girl pose with her left leg raised high and her right hand in the shape of a V as it also covered her face. "Good morning, Gabi-chan. I hope you're having a super-duper good day!"

Gabriel softly chuckles at her greeting with amusement evident in her eyes. "Fufufu, ah yes, I am having a super day, thank you."

After the initial greeting, Serafall decides to go into a bit more of a business mode, with her magical girl outfit temporarily disappearing, and in its place, formal attire takes place. Thinking that she should at least be a bit more professional. "So here it is, the egg-kun, different from your average angel, huh?" She said with a mischievous face adorned on her face. Hoping to get a reaction out of her, a thing that seemed to work, as the moment Gabriel turned to the angel, her eternally serene and soft expression hardened and turned forced, almost awkward she might add.

(Gabriel)

Gabriel's face hardens and turns the slightest bit forced as she glances at the huge egg-like angel.

Initially, upon seeing the big cocoon and the holy energy, she just thought that her brother created a defensive dome around himself to recover. But after spreading her senses a bit, she realized that her brother's shape was just like the dome. A giant, almost four-meter-diameter sphere.

A truly towering sight it was.

She mechanically walked towards the giant dome. Her movement was rigid and forced as she tried to hide her deep confusion and shock as she brushed her hand against the surface. Her hand met the warm and pleasant surface as her hand glazes through it.

It was warm, not the slightest bit warmer or colder than it should be; it was a pleasant one akin to the warmth one had in one's bed during a winter night.

The texture itself was akin to the softest of pillows, almost ethereal as her hand pushed against it. Yet it was also undeniably hard revealing to her that it would not break easily.

Through the touch, she double confirms that the being in front of her is an angel. Not some experimental being who somehow managed to wield holy power.

Upon double-confirming, her movements stiffened even more as she turned to Serafall. Who had a gloating and joyful expression on her face while also covering her mouth behind her hand. "Puff Puff" Small bits of laughter leak out from it, while her face turns the slightest shade of red.

Gabriel, on the other hand, just continued gawking at the egg-like dome, stunned, for a few seconds before finally snapping out of it.

"Well, he does indeed look unique," Gabriel said; her eyes darted toward the massive dome-like cover for just a millisecond. "Very unique"

Serafall just nods with a bit of a cracked, polite smile. "Ahem, yes, but he is without a doubt an angel."

Gabriel nods, after which she turns to the other creatures who are standing around him. "And they are?"

Serafall just shrugs her shoulder. "Well they were accompanying the angel, so probably his servant or companion."

Gabriel nods as she walks towards the goblin woman who is standing at the forefront. "Hello, little friend, are you his companion?"

The goblin woman's eyes were glazed and unfocused and her body was stiff like a statue. "It is twelve, it is twelve, it is twelve." She repeated like a glitched machine that Gabriel heard off from one of his younger brothers. One that wouldn't work unless one reset or whacked the machine itself one good time, but of course since the creature in front of her is a living being, she obviously wouldn't whack it, but she probably need a simulation to snap out of it.

Gabriel then in a slightly louder voice. "HELLO, LITTLE FRIEND."

The goblin woman flinched, and her distorted eyesight returned to normal. "Ahhhhh, um, yes, Great Seraph-sama, we are his companions." Kale silently gazed towards her back, bending her leg to give a deep bow.

With a thud, those behind her instantly bent their knees and took on a kneeling pose, while Kale, just a second after, also tried to kneel. Only to be stopped by Gabriel, one of the great Seraphs.

"You don't have to do something like that. Stand up; do not kneel." Her voice was akin to smooth silk as she stopped them. "Are all of you close to him?" She asked again. Wanting to confirm it, just in case.

Kale nodded. " Ummm, Yes, we spent quite a few months together."

Gabriel just gently smiled and nodded in acknowledgment, and then she turned to the devil. "All right, Leviathan-san , it was nice meeting you."

Serafall nods back as she also bids her farewell. "Yes, it was, though I would have preferred if we could talk some more."

"Someday," Gabriel said, not answering yes or no, only leaving it to the future. After all, who would know what the future holds?. She raised her hands and started manifesting a humongous magic circle, a circle that covered both her sleeping brother and his companion.

The glow of the magic circle was of ethereal yellow, an elusive yet gentle one that would make one wonder. Wonder how such a beautiful color could exist.

The symbols and circles that adorned her teleportation circle were full of her very own creation. Most of them were of her own creation, quite different from low-level teleportation circles that darted the human world, specifically the human mages, which were full of rigid, inefficient diagrams and symbols with no meaning other than some fancy and better-looking ones.

Granted, her own magic circle was considerably harder and required more exquisite control, but its capability and how much less the circle consumed holy energy more than made up for it.

Only for the goblin woman that stood beside her to stop her from teleporting them. "Wait, Great Seraph, my daughter isn't here yet." Her voice was frantic and rushed. Gabriel gently nodded at her and spread her senses. Hundred meters, two hundred meters, four hundred meters. When she sensed about a kilometer away, she sensed it, a magical signature quite similar in nature to the goblin woman who stood beside her. Evident that they are related.

Only for her to also sense another angle, a weak middle-class one. But still an angel. "Leviathan, you did not say there was another."

Serafall just took on a confused expression as she also spread her senses and sensed the new angel. "Oh that ?" She shrugged. "Though it was one of your own"

Gabriel materialized a magical circle below the goblin girl and the angel. Instantly teleporting them to right beside them.

Their reaction was one of confusion and wariness upon teleportation, but the daughter of the goblin woman calmed down upon seeing her mother and the calm reaction that her mother had. But the angel, on the other hand, was a whole other thing.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM, ALL OF YOU." The angel who, for some reason, looked like an orb of light yelled. But Gabriel didn't mind his appearance much; after all, just beside her, there was an angel as big as a whole house.

The newly arrived angel instantly darted to the sleeping angel and stood in front of him. Shielding him from them, though considering the size, it didn't look like it, but the gesture was still there.

Gabriel, after a few seconds, walked towards the newly arrived angel and tried to soothe its wariness. "Calm down, little one; we bear no harm."

She materialized her own holy energy and started leaking it out to help the angel and show it that she was also. Much like him, also an angel. And the reaction that she got was unexpected, to say the least.

"NO, HOW? HOW DO YOU HAVE HOLY ENERGY? IT IS IMPOSSIBLE." The orb of light started trembling and vibrating like something significant was happening. "I AM HIS FIRST CREATION, THE FIRST ONE. HOW?" The orb screamed, the childish voice of the angel that looked like an orb echoing through the mountains.

Gabriel's eyebrow fell down in the middle as she walked closer to it. "What creation, little one? What do you mean by his first creation?"

The orb of light stops vibrating and shaking like a crackling storm as he turns to her, though considering that it has no eyes or face. It was just an institution. "Are you trying to fool me? You are an angel like me, yet you were created before me, the first of his creation. HOW?"

Gabriel's frown deepens, and her footsteps halt in their places. Feeling deeply confused and not fully understanding what he meant. After all, they are all created by God, each and every one of them. No matter if they are personally created or born in nature. They are created because the [Heavenly system] helped them take shape with the God gone, which in prospect meant that they were all created by only one being. So she tried to reason with the angel and help it understand.

"I don't exactly understand what you mean but we are all created by one and the same being. So you do not have to be wary of me." Her voice was melodic and gentle, akin to the chirping of young birds before they became capable of flight.

(Orb of Light)

The orb of light felt like he was a fool.

An utter and incompetent fool who couldn't even do basic reasoning that even flesh-and-blood animals should be capable of.

He had lived for almost a few hours. WHOLE FEW HOURS.

A time that should be plenty for him to realize why his Everlasting Mighty Creator was so weak.

While he wouldn't dare call him a weakling or something like that as that would deepest level of blasphemy.

But in the grand visions that he was so fortunately granted. He saw his creator doing things that any of the creatures that were beside him couldn't even begin to comprehend. He saw his creator laying waste to the world upon the world who refused his divine benevolence. He saw those heathens who dare call themselves the True Gods crumble and fall like sand castles facing an ocean, incomparable and endless.

He saw his creator with a wave of his hand, burning a very world until all that remains is dust.

He saw his creator bending the very fabric of existence and erasing those conceptual beings. The beings that were believed to be immortal and undying until all signs of their existence, their history gone along with them. Not even their beloved spouse, the ones who swore an oath together wouldn't even remember them.

But he also saw his creator embracing those who joined him and placing the world that became one of his in his divine realm.

A realm in which countless worlds and stars eternally danced in joy to his kindness and blessing that was granted to them.

His creator possesses mountains upon mountains of treasures, each one a treasure that even the Patheons of Gods couldn't get their claws on.

His creator possesses more power than any madman raving.

His creator possesses more knowledge than even the book containing all existing and nonexistent universes.

And the thing that these creatures beside him could not even fathom the slightest bit. Except for that angel, since she was created earlier than him and quite possibly witnessed firsthand his divine miracles.

But something must have happened that he was currently unaware of.

Something major that the vision he was granted did not cover.

A vision that foretold of his creator's fall and rebirth into a new being.

He was the FIRST creation of his creator in his current life.

But in his past lives, he must have also created angels much like him.

Yet this simple reasoning had just gone past his head and caused his creator to fall into danger. The orb of light turned to the devil, who stood farther away, expressionlessly. No, upon closer inspection, he could see a frown and how that devil woman's hand was twitching here and there. Possibly having realized that his Great creator was alive and the assumption that he had fallen, had been false.

A foolish tale that was woven into existence by the lesser beings that have never been granted a vision.

"NO!" The orb of light screamed as he walked towards the devil. His form rapidly shifted and changed as he cursed his incompetence and foolishness for failing to realize some simple thing and had pushed his creator, the Eternal One, into pits of fire.

"I will not let you dig you're filthy claw upon my creator" Orb of light, though, as he flew to the angel, though not before muttering to the female angel. "Protect the creator, for he is in deep sleep"

(Serafall)

Initially, Serafall was just enjoying the chaos and the comedy that came from it. The newly arrived angel stopped in front of his elder brother to protect him from the big bad Gabriel ? Cute.

Trying to scream and intimidate them into backing off? Very cute.

But the words that continued on removed her all-laid-back approach.

Specifically about how he was protecting his creator and that they shouldn't come near, etc.

Those words got her serious and vigilant. As every word that spewed out of the newly arrived angel rang several different alarm bells in her head. And the bells that rang weren't of a mild nature, to say the least.

She slowly inched closer to them and started talking with Gabriel. "Gabriel-san, I change my mind; until you deliver the resources, you won't take him away from here."

Gabriel turned rapidly to her and narrowed her eyes. Her golden, mellow eyes lit up in warning. "Leviathan, choose your words carefully; after all, nobody knows what would happen to the loved ones of the one who spoke without thinking." The holy energy that started gathering around the Seraph was not something to joke about, as even she, one of the maou, felt extremely threatened by the extremely dense, akin to mercury holy energy. Though considering that she was a Seraph and how long she lived as a Seraph, it made sense.

But Serafall wasn't afraid or intimidated by her, yet something and some part of her stopped her and begged for her to reconsider.

Serafalls steps slowed, and she stopped gathering her demonic energy as she stared at the Seraph. Her eyes glowed in a blue icy tone, yet she did not walk further. She just stood.

She wanted to stop her and forced her to leave as the words that spewed out of the little angel were not things that should be taken lately. No, anything related to that one, should not be taken lightly. Especially if it is related to his revival as the moment he is revived, she is certain that the Great War will resume once again.

But this time, there would be no apocalypse beast to weaken the God.

The Maou part of her screamed at her to force and fight, while the simply Serafall part begged for her to reconsider and cherish one of the last things that defined her existence itself. "So-tan" She unconsciously muttered to herself.

The standoff continued for almost a minute, their gaze not leaving each other for not even a millisecond as they looked at each other. She completely ignored the little orb of light that stood between them.

A weak, pathetic bug, she would say.

Her eyes turned more and more cold and slowly her demonic energy started gathering. Her feet just like her demonic energy, started digging into the earth.

Screech

With a loud screech akin to a boulder grinding against a building, the sound of Serafal grinding her teeth sounds as she finally decides to stand down. "OK, Gabriel-chan, Don't be so serious, I was just kidding." Her hand pushed her head in a mock self-punching pose as she put her lip out of her mouth in a spoilt and pouting style, extremely similar to that one episode on Miracle Levia-tan.

But what just happened would not disappear just because of it.

Gabriel, upon seeing her reaction, instantly teleported all of them away. While Serafall just watched on passively, the slightest bit of ice in her eyes did not disappear. But in the end.

She made her decision. "I hope I did the correct thing," she whispered to herself as she turned around and walked towards the Kuoh school. Feeling a series of complex emotions such as anger, confusion, and deep frustration.

(Gabriel)

Gabriels emotion, much like her devil equivalent, was as complex as hers. She felt quite a range of emotions, but they were quite similar in nature.

She felt confusion, frustration, and worry.

Confused, if she did the right thing, while hoping that the words that the unknown angel had uttered had truth in them. If not, she quite possibly ruined the centuries of relationship that they had built.

Worry, what she should do if she learned that the words the unknown angel had uttered were false and that the angel that was sleeping beside her was in fact not her creator, in prospect the God.

She turned to the unknown angel and started asking him questions.

Questions ranged from whether the words that he said were true and whether was he truly created by him. How long he had lived and when he was created.

The questions were as relentless as the emotion that surged in her chest, yet the orb of light answered all of them truthfully and in pure honesty. After twenty minutes of relentless questions, she finally relents as she takes a step back. Her chest was heavy and filled with more questions than she initially started with.

But she got all the questions that she could from him, though not much as he was just a newborn.

"Sister, I have a request," she heard the unknown angel say to her.

She turned to the angel to see what request he had of her.

"Drop me somewhere into the human world. Preferably if I am far from other supernatural factions but not completely isolated."

"Why?" She asked, wondering what he wanted and why he asked something like this.

The orb didn't answer and didn't move after her question. He just stood there, the light dim and the silver of what it was initially.

But he didn't make her wait long. "For I had sinned greatly, sister; I had ruined the great one's plan and put him in danger. Unnecessary danger that was birthed from my foolishness

Gabriel opened her mouth to reassure him and stop him from venturing alone. But he did not relent. "Please Sister, I must make up for my mistake. Only then, only then, can I be in his presence once more."

Gabriel stared at him for a profound deep second before she nodded at him reluctantly, although she wouldn't like him to venture alone like this. But she valued his loyalty and the willingness to make up for it. "Alright," she said. After which she materialized a teleportation circle and teleported him to a place she knew would be safe for him.

A magical circle materializes around him. "Thank you," the orb of light said as he prepared to make up for his undoing and make up for his mistake by annihilating the devil race as a whole. For that would be the only way to make up for his mistake.

A thing that he didn't tell his sister because he assumed that she already knew.
