Chapter 278 - Chapter 18: The Adorable Higokumaru

A new ruler had emerged upon the earth - a Demon Lord.

This was no ordinary Campione. The New King possessed the demeanor of an Eastern immortal, clearly no mortal being.

According to Christian followers, the new king's name was Lin Chiling. However, after extensive investigations worldwide—especially in East Asia—no information about this new king could be found.

The news from Italy and the results of the investigation, combined with the partial information obtained about the new king and the natural disaster that occurred in the island region near Israel's borders... suggested that the new king might have committed her first... her first slaying of gods... totaling two.

One of them was the famous Archangel Michael, while the other could be deduced to be a god king who was an enemy of the Catholic Church's pantheon.

Collective information remains unknown.

Michael is the highest commander of Michael's angelic legion.

The Bible, Quran... all contain detailed records about him. He is God's chief warrior, leader of the angelic legions. Not only does he possess courage and unparalleled power that ordinary humans lack, but he also has the most beautiful appearance.

The standard image of Michael features a sword in his right hand and a scale in his left. In recent years, the Roman Catholic Church has even designated Michael as the guardian saint of police.

Michael oversees the element of fire among the four great elements.

Excerpt from a report confirming the appearance of a new Campione within the Christian Church in the early 21st century.

Milan, the fashion capital of the world.

On a bustling commercial street, two Eastern girls—one tall and one small—drew the attention of passersby. Men and women, young and old, couldn't help but steal glances at them.

These gazes carried no malice, only admiration and appreciation for their striking beauty... As if both the taller and younger girl possessed an irresistible charm that captivated all who saw them.

"Higokumaru, come here... This shop's clothes look really nice." Phoenix pulled the young girl beside her and hurried over to a store overflowing with garments.

At this moment, Phoenix wasn't wearing her Valkyrie attire. After all, she was in Europe. The traditional Chinese-style dress felt out of place and too attention-grabbing in this setting.

Yet Phoenix hadn't anticipated that even in ordinary clothes, she would still draw so much notice.

It was simply unavoidable.

In terms of appearance, while Phoenix might seem like a celestial beauty to Eastern eyes, to Westerners she appeared as a top-tier beauty.

She wouldn't have stood out so much either.

The main reason was Phoenix's unique aura, reminiscent of the Nine Heavens Mysterious Maiden. No matter how ordinary her clothes, her essence remained unmistakable.

To the surrounding Europeans, Phoenix appeared like a Valkyrie from mythology.

Having experienced countless worlds over more than a decade, Phoenix had long grown accustomed to such gazes and remained composed.

Beside her, Higokumaru - though still young - carried an equally captivating charm.

This was likely the natural allure inherent to fox spirits.

Despite not being born a fox spirit, Higokumaru had somehow instinctively mastered the same bewitching qualities.

One couldn't help but marvel at this remarkable phenomenon.

Inside the shop:

"Come, Higokumaru, try on this dress."

Phoenix handed over a charming princess outfit to Higokumaru, her face brimming with anticipation.

Perhaps it was from being a girl for so long, but Phoenix found immense satisfaction in dressing Higokumaru and trying out different outfits.

She treated Higokumaru like a living doll, styling her into the most adorable looks...

But upon reflection, it wasn't that her mindset had fundamentally changed. After all, girls do enjoy dressing others, even if they're not so keen on changing their own clothes.

If pressed for an explanation, Higokumaru had essentially become a human-sized doll in her eyes.

Boys often love spending thousands on dolls just to dress them beautifully.

That's exactly how Phoenix felt now.

After all, Higokumaru was her pet, her doll, something that belonged to her. Making her look beautiful brought Phoenix immense personal satisfaction!

"Alright then!"

Higokumaru took the clothes and walked into the fitting room once again, feeling helpless.

For Higokumaru, while she liked beautiful clothes, this frequent changing was starting to become annoying.

However, since Phoenix-nee liked it, even if Higokumaru didn't particularly enjoy it, she wouldn't refuse.

After Higokumaru entered the fitting room, Phoenix turned to look at the salesperson standing nearby, who was keeping their head bowed low and avoiding eye contact.

Suddenly, Phoenix felt helpless about his wife's overwhelming charm and presence.

If it were other Valkyries or Fu Hua, it might be manageable, but Phoenix...

Phoenix... Her body naturally carried an immortal's aura, always captivating and inspiring awe, making women feel inferior.

Perhaps the only advantage they might have over Immortal Phoenix was in their chests.

Western women generally have larger chests.

After a moment, the fitting room door opened. A small foot clad in adorable princess-style shoes stepped out, followed by a young girl who looked like a little fairy.

Higokumaru stood at the fitting room entrance, her long pink hair cascading softly over her shoulders. Her fair skin glowed with a luminous smoothness, and her azure eyes sparkled with mischief. Beneath her straight nose, her pale pink lips curved into a smile.

She grinned sweetly, her cheeks adorned with rosebud dimples that made her look like a ripe apple. She was cunningly adorable yet maintained an air of nobility.

The charming Higokumaru walked toward Phoenix, her dress swaying in the breeze. She touched her lips with a finger, her eyes half-lidded like a true little fox spirit.

"Phoenix-nee, how do I look?" Higokumaru twirled in front of Phoenix, her hands gathering the skirt of her dress.

"Stunning. As expected of my little pet. Please pack all the clothes she tried on," Phoenix instructed the salesperson with a satisfied nod. "She's truly my adorable companion!"

The salesperson hurried to comply, gathering the dozen or so garments Higokumaru had tried on earlier. Such generous customers were rare - not only were there so many items, but each was quite expensive.

"What's next? More shopping?" Higokumaru tugged at Phoenix's arm.

"No, let's eat first. Then we'll visit some people."
