Waynes reached Maxwell's mansion. As they entered the mansion, they saw James, Ron and Grace were already waiting for them.
Crystal focused on those three people. James Maxwell, the man who is the same age of her grandfather and loved her like him. After losing his wife he left all the business on his son and grandson's hand but still he is the main decision maker.
But his trust in his son was not wrong, Ron Maxwell proved that he was not less than his father. He is an amazing businessman with dynamic leadership and excellent decision making skills and in all this his wife Grace Ron Maxwell was always there for him to support him and help him. Grace Maxwell who owned a fashion house named "G", a woman who managed her business and family at the same time.
In the end, Lucas Maxwell, the man who's name is only enough, he's the combination of his grandfather and father.

When Waynes came into the hall, there was a flash of surprise in the eyes of three Maxwells, as they looked at the girl who was wearing a Floral Print Flare Sleeves V- Neck Midi Dress and there was minimal make up on her face. She was looking lovely and delicate.
Grace stood up and immediately hugged her "Crystal, I missed you so much darling. How have you been?"
"I'm absolutely fine and look at you, no wonder Uncle Ron never leaves you alone anywhere." Grace smiles at that sweet flattery.
Crystal moved towards Ron Maxwell "Take care of your wife, at this age she's looking stunning."
"Am I worse than her?" He hugged her to which she replied "Compatible couple!"
Their interaction was interrupted by a throat clearing sound, Ron signalled something to Crystal, in return she gave him a reassuring smile.
She sits beside James Maxwell, who was sitting with a grumpy face by folding his hands on his chest and turning his face in another direction. Crystal imitated his position and turned her face in the opposite direction.
"I'm not talking to you." James broke the silence after some minutes.
"Oh"
Hearing her such unresponsive answer James turned her face in her direction asking "Are you not going to ask me, why i'm angry with you?"
Crystal hides her smile then faces him "Why should I ask you? Did you call me and ask about my health?" She pointed at her scar "See, I got injured saving your grandson."
"Who asked you to save him, let that bastard get hurt." he said sulkily
"Wasn't it you, who took a promise from me that I should take care of him. Who wanted to save him? I was fulfilling my promise to you."
James feels guilty then murmurs "I'll still not forgive you."
Liam pulled her granddaughter saying "Then my granddaughter doesn't need to stay here." he started to go "Crystal let's go."
But Crystal's other hand was held by James making them stop "Where do you think you are taking her?"
And the tug of war begins making everyone smile
"My granddaughter is apologising to you and you are showing an attitude to her."
"I'll show my attitude as I've right on her. I was the first one to pick her up when she was born. So you can't come between us."
"Don't you have a grandson, why are you behind my granddaughter."
"That iceberg faced grandson, I don't like him. If you want then you can have him and give me Crystal in return."
The three men of Wayne instantly said "No!"
"Ok guys, I'm not going anywhere." Crystal made an attempt to calm down both parties.
"And I'm just like your granddaughter so what's the problem, we can meet whenever you want.You just need to tell me."
As the two families were walking, Liam suddenly asked "Where is Lucas? Isn't he coming?"
This question made the harmonious atmosphere turn awkward and serious.
"Actually, he has a very important meeting but he said he'll try his best to come till the time of dinner." Grace made an effort to cover his son but they failed as everyone noticed the disappointed look on the Waynes face but what alarmed James was Crystal's reaction as when Grace said those words there was no emotion on her face as she didn't know the person whom they are talking about.
In the past, whenever she came to their house, her eyes were always searching for him and when she heard the same answer just like today, her eyes were at the door all the time but now she was nonchalantly using her phone. Before James could say anything her phone rang
"Excuse me!" Crystal excused herself then attended the call while standing in a corner where no one could see her.
"Yes Carl."
"Ma'am you were right, after they found out that the credit cards have been blocked, they've visited some famous casinos and gambling dens." The person on the other side informed
Crystal sneers "As expected.They've tasted the luxurious life so they won't sit calmly. Someone said, ``Greed is like filling a cup with a hole at the bottom, it will never fill."
"But ma'am why aren't they contacting you or your mother asking for money."
"Carl, 40 million is not a small amount. My aunt knows very well, even if my mother loves her very much she will surely ask where she spent all the money."
He continued to ask "What's your next move?"
"Keep an eye on them and find me some best gamblers, who know how to play with mind and luck. Let's see, this time how much luck this mother and daughter have." she said venomously
After hanging up the phone Carl mumbles "Seems like someone is going to be unlucky."
Meanwhile, at the hall the atmosphere was still sombre as Liam continued "James, you knew very well that why I agreed for Crystal's and Lucas's engagement. First, it was our wives' last wish and second, I thought that Lucas will take care of my granddaughter like he used to do in the past." Liam found it difficult to continue as he thought about his wife .
"But, recently we've felt that Lucas has changed and his changing is affecting Crystal. Crystal is our everything, we loved her too much and we don't like the way Lucas is treating her. He's taking her for granted like she's some insignificant girl." Sean continued his father's words
Ron countered him "Crystal is like our daughter."
"Then you can treat her like your daughter. No one will stop you but she can't be this house's daughter-in-law." Laura took her husband's side
"Laura, you know how much Crystal loves Lucas, still." Grace was baffled because for Laura, Lucas and Brian are the same.
Brian was a spectator, it was inappropriate for him to talk between elders.
After a while, James finally said "So you've decided?"
Liam nodded his head "I'm calling off Lucas and Crystal's engagement."
"I wanted to ask from Crystal, if she said that she doesn't want it then nobody can call off this engagement. Not even you"
Seeing the Waynes agreeing, there was a bad premonition in James's heart.
The tense atmosphere was broken by Crystal's voice "What are you all talking about?"
Grace said anxiously "Crystal do you…"
"Dinner is ready" But was cut off by Peter's voice
Crystal smiled at the man, who used to act like a bodyguard to her when she was a child. "Mr. Peter, where is your Wendy? Did you find her?" She put her elbow on his shoulder and repeated the same question that she asked him every time she met him.
"The search is on." To get the same reply
She made a fist "Fighting!"
The dinner was spent with little talk as everyone was lost in their thoughts. Crystal has an idea about this so she didn't probe anyone.
Everyone was having a digestif when James said "Crystal, do you know that your grandfather is suggesting to cancel you and Lucas's engagement?"
"James, it's not Grandpa's suggestion. I suggested it." Crystal sat beside him before telling him after a moment of silence making James sigh while Ron and Grace were shocked.
"Why?"
"Don't you love Lucas anymore? I know he was wrong but give him a chance, he cares about you…'
"He used to care about me." Crystal corrected her then turned to James "James, you tell me honestly. Do I deserve a person like Lucas, whom I loved very much but he never acknowledged my presence."
"I'll talk to him." Ron patted on Crystal's hand but she shook her head
James asked her "What do you want?"
To which she replied "I want to be happy." by forwarding her engagement ring towards James "Without him."
"I understand." He said while taking the ring.
Crystal hugged him "I knew, you will."
