"Can you believe it!"
Riley shouted as soon as he sat on the bed.
"Telling me to suit myself, but she's gonna tell our homeroom teacher whatever she wants to, even though she's the one who made me end up this way."
"Cool, cool. We are in the clinic."
Riley was fuming with anger, but he knew he could do nothing about it. Natasha was gonna have her ways anyway. He would have happily stayed in class to sleep, but he knew that would be impossible, since he was Natasha's desk mate, she wasn't gonna let him sleep a wink.
He looked at Max with appreciative eyes.
"Thanks Max. I do think you should head to class right now, you don't wanna be late for the first class."
"Ok buddy. Make sure you get some sleep."
Max gave Riley a gentle pat on the shoulder and left Riley all alone in the clinic.
Riley closed the curtains, wanting to make sure he would not be disturbed by those who would be coming into the clinic later. He closed his eyes, and not long after, he slept off like a baby.
Riley opened his eyes, to welcome in the sight of his friends, friends who woke him up with the silly noise they were making.
"Hey, look, our sleeping beauty is awake."
"Geez! Say something better Max. Riley is a male, not a female."
"Oh! Really? He looks cute, plus he's gay. And trust me, he's definitely a bottom. So, can he pass as a sleeping beauty?"
Riley sat up, not a bit interested in Max and Tharn who were so interested in giving him a name. Looking around, he was surprised to see Julian and Natasha at a corner, discussing whatever he could not hear. He chuckled as he returned his gaze to the boys by his side.
"So, uhm..."
"Hey, have any idea as to who dropped those there?"
He got a bit pissed off at them for cutting him off. He ignored his feelings and looked at what they were referring to and was surprised to see a bunch of flowers on the bedside table. Hold on a minute.
'Why are they asking me? Shouldn't I be the one asking?' he thought to himself.
While still looking confused, Natasha and Julian came to join them.
"You feeling better?"
Riley nodded his head in the positive in response to the question Natasha asked him.
"That's good." she said and sat by his side on the bed.
"These blockheads here made sure to cover up for you. So, I was unable to out you to our homeroom teacher."
Riley followed her gaze to Max and Tharn, and he looked at them with appreciative eyes.
"Wanna tell us who dropped this here?"
Riley, Natasha, Max, and Tharn all looked at Julian who was holding the flowers.
Riley looked clueless, and they all figured out that it was pointless asking him since he only just woke up. The person must have dropped it there when Riley was asleep. But just who could it be?
"Come on buddy, let's go for lunch before time runs out."
"Yeah, it's just a few more minutes remaining."
"Hurry bro."
Riley looked away from them as he bent down to tie his shoelace. They were already walking out, so he hurried with tying his shoelace. Joining them outside, he saw a familiar figure approaching the clinic, but the figure suddenly turned his back and went back the way he came.
'Is he the one who dropped the flowers?' Riley thought to himself.
Natasha and the rest were already some distance away from the clinic, before realizing that Riley was not with them. Looking back, they saw him standing still by the clinic's door, looking in the opposite direction.
"Hey! Riley."
Riley heard that annoying voice call him. He blinked his eyes as he looked away. He jogged over to his friends and chuckled.
"Come on. Let's get going. We don't have much time left."
He thought they would move, if not run to the cafeteria, but no, they stood there, looking at him with questioning looks on their faces.
"What the f**k were you staring at?"
"Nothing Nat. I thought I saw something."
"What! You're now hallucinating or what? Do you need more sleep? No, no, no, you definitely should return back to sleep."
Riley crossed his arms across her shoulders and walked along with her. Not replying to her stupid remarks, afterall, it was just a joke meant to provoke him. She just loved provoking him.
