His golden eyes felt as if they were piercing their very souls in that very moment. He then threw the papers into the air as they flew quickly to the two and attached themselves onto their cloaks. Watching the paper slowly morph onto the cloaks with the image of a black star appearing on the chest of their cloak.
Iris watched in horror as the star set in stone that she really was to be stuck in this class until she improved which was a matter she didn't know the outcome of. Her head fell to the desk seeing the star appear. Dante on the other hand felt it was interesting to see such a weird magic up close. He didn't understand how he was really doing such things, but he knew to respect his authority and skill.
He continued as he turned to the large green board behind him and slowly, words began to form on the board before he spoke.
"I have a new regime I've decided on before even accepting the offer to teach you all. It'd be better to use you as guinea pigs for my wild experiment. "
He then turned and grabbed a small piece of chalk sitting on the board and writing out some words. He then stepped away and turned back to the class with a stern face. Everyone looked at the board and read the words closely before realizing what he wrote.
"Partner Training?" one of the students said as they scratched the back of their neck, seemingly confused at the prospect of why that'd be something he'd come up with. Professor Farrell smirked at the reactions from around the room, but continued his explanation.
"Often, mages are a pretty self sufficient bunch, Able to take care of oneself in any given situation. As long as they have the smarts and wit to cast, they'll usually be fine. Though in this case, you all seem to have trouble in one way or another…"
He continued walking along the front of the room before stopping in front of some of the writing and pointing to it with his wand.
"Partnership Training will reduce the need for self learning through practicality and learning in motion."
"You will be paired with another student to learn the in's and out's of casting."
"You are to be paired with this student for the oncoming future in class and will collaborate on many subjects and projects during your time here."
"There is no choosing your partner, you will be assigned accordingly by your professor's judgement."
The rules stood out to each of the students as they looked around and spoke amongst themselves.
"Would something like that work…?"
"I've never seen a teacher do something like that before…?"
"I get projects…but entirely?"
"Hopefully I get paired with someone cute."
The chatter around the room continued as Dante looked around, looking at every other student in the class. His mind wondered about who he could possibly be placed with as he began to think to himself about the whole situation unfolding in front of him.
"If I were to be paired with someone…I hope they'd be okay with me not knowing much about spellcasting…hopefully I get someone who's nice too…"
"Now." the professor said as pointing to the board as names began to write themselves on the board.
"This is who you will be training alongside for the near future…"
