Chapter 144 - Betrayal and the Coming Price

Rainbow light suffused the ruined hollow as my magic expanded to encompass the entire structure. Dust coiled within the recesses of my mind and old soot coagulated within the corners of my eyes. The smell of brimstone and sulphur infused the air and clung stubbornly to the walls and floor, marred by time and the happenings of that fateful night.

My nose twitched as I slowly paced through the first floor, the entire house scarred by spell fire from that very night. Stepping into the lounge room I noted the presence of a cot for a small child, the dull green couch that still had a wand splintered across the top of it. Gazing around I could find little of anything to allude to the central warding stone for their ritual. A tingle in the back of my head flared as I arched my head upwards, the roof above hiding what I could sense hanging above in the second floor.

Waving my hand before me I simply walked into the room above me, the rainbow light fading away as the bedroom of Harry revealed itself to me. Scowling down at the ash covered ground below, my hand clenched into a fist as the air quivered before my mouth... I spoke out in pure Latin; sourced from my time spent with Julius Caesar.

"Revelatio Temporis, ostende mihi quae fuerunt, umbras memoriæ."

In but moments the entire room returned back to the state it was in on the 31st of 2002, Halloween. Lily Potter nee Slytherin stood before the form of Voldemort, his ritual scarred form glowering down at her as the sound of James struggling down below reached my ears. There was a silencing ward around Harry's room and it gave the impression to Lily that her husband was already dead... 'Well that answers how they both could have survived.'

Continuing to observe I watched as the entire house flared with bright silver light. Lily smirked in triumph whilst Voldemort panicked, his eyes flaring bright red, chaos absorbing his entire being at this precise moment in time that had been so vividly shown through my spell.

I took a step forwards and listened in to the conversation.

"YOU! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?"

Lily rolled her eyes and held her wand out in front of her, Harry looking between the two of them as they confronted each other.

"Stopped you from harming our family."

He grimaced before yelling his next words with spite.

"You've done no such thing!!! This will summon the realms beyond, a specific plane that even I dare not tread! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???" She frowned in confusion as the silver light trembled and slowly mutated into a deep red glow, the runes imprinted on the very structure itself twisting as they re-arranged into a series of spiralling symbols that represented damnation. 'Those runes are from Mephisto's realm... FUCK! MOTHER FUCK-'

"~Hello there...~"

A demonic form sprouted from the bright red glow, the extremely crimson eyes opening maddeningly as a cape slowly draped around its form. Its face was hooked and scythe like, dipping down into a point at the chin. Grizzled scruff and beard tainted the image, yet it only served to make the form more menacing and revolting. His hands rose out before him, as if he were basking in the afterglow of emerging on Earth.

"Demon..."

"~Enough of that, youngling. Go infect someone else's life.~" The figure, which I knew to be Mephisto, blew a soft breath towards the Dark Lord. Never had I seen skin and body burn quicker than in those few seconds shown by my spell... And that made the existence of the Horcrux make so much more sense. It wasn't a mistake but a punishment from a being much more powerful than old moldymort.

Lily trembled, standing before Harry as the Demon Lord simply chuckled.

"~Ahhh, how I crave this emotion. The need to protect those you love despite the harm to yourself... All the better to feast upon.~"

A popping noise emerged from beside me as Dumbledore walked into the room calmly, Lily taking a deep breath in relief.

"Albus, help me fight off this demon!" She rounded her wand around and tried to strike towards Mephisto, right up until the point that she was struck from behind by a Stunner.

"I am afraid that would not be in our best interests, Potter."

A cruel bout of laughter cascaded around the room as Albus Dumbledore glanced over at Mephisto, his eyes devoid of all emotion, those particular elements of the psyche hidden behind his Occlumency.

"~Oh, descendent of Guinevere, you sure know how to make an old Demon laugh.~"

Albus inclined his head before staring down at Lily and sighing. The lights flared and silver fought crimson as the ancient Peverell ritual unexpectedly fought back. Surprise took Albus off guard as Lily's body and James's disappeared, their souls separating from their bodies as Mephisto tensed his arm and held his arm out. Two balls of white hovered before him, his grin splitting his face into an eerie jack-o'-lantern shape.

"~Tsk, tsk, tsk... I don't think you'll get away that easily... Wouldn't want our deal to end so sour after it just came to fruition. Descendent of Guinevere, our pact is completed, I shall now take my due and you shall have your control over the mutt.~"

"Wonderful. I will of course cover up our mess... Do contact me if you need aid with anything Mephisto, perhaps we could come to another arrangement?"

The Old Demon smirked wider with that same horror-filled expression, his eyes glowing even brighter.

"~Perhaps... We will wait and see...~"

Mephisto flashed away in a gout of infernal brimstone and flame, the wood burning to a fine ash that failed to move despite the rapid winds conjured by the Elder Wand within Dumbledore's grasp. The room was tossed around and looked positively destroyed as every single bit of damage seen normally from my own time period slowly met its resting place within the spell's vision.

Looking at Albus I noticed him flick his wand towards Harry and grasp a thin silver sliver from the young child's head, his memory of what truly happened being warped and bent into a believable tale of loss and sorrow. A story so sad that it could emotionally stunt and scar the young boy for most of his life, leaving him malleable and controllable.

"Very good... You shall be the boy-who-lived and serve as my personal weapon against whoever I wish. LeFay, nor Pendragon will ever rise whilst a Guinevere still lives... As stated by the paragon of our lineage. Now, let's get you to your positively vile family."

The spell flickered out as what existed outside of it overlapped with the continuation of its' contents.

"..."

I simply stood there and stared at the cot, my emotions being held under immensely powerful psychic shields and Occlumency. My fey nature was positively roaring for revenge as my angelic and hellish powers roared at me, wishing to be used. The Force wrapped around me like a shroud, its near-sentient consciousness attempting to soothe me into reason.

The runes upon my face flared as my eyes flickered between several different images... Those of a leviathan of the deep sea, a hellish set that burned with the heat of stars, bright white sourced from my life domain and then finally stopping on my bright golden eyes. Within those now bright gold orbs I could almost feel every game being played through Earth and beyond, my domain connecting to everyone who was currently being entertained.

Taking a deep breath my fists clenched in anger.

"Save Harry's parents first, then kill the old cunt..." I exhaled once more.

'System, how much to buy an Obscurial core?'

[Points: 1, 251,222,666,101P]

[Obscurial core- 600,000,000P]

'Get it. Store it.'

[Points: 1,250,622,666,101P]

'Now, the Starheart... Could I get a crystal connected to the vast font of magic?'

[Yes, it is possible, It will cost you though...]

'Let's see it then.'

[Starheart Crystal: 200,000,000,000]

'Get it.'

[Points: 1,050,622,666,101P]

'I want a pure kyber crystal.'

[Points: 1,050,600,666,101P]

'Goblin Silver...'

[Points: 1,050,600,235,981P]

'Nth, Uru, Vibranium, Adamantium and Black Rods; from Naruto.'

...

All the materials sat before me in the very same room in which Mephisto had taken my cousin's parents from him. Light glimmered and shimmered from several of the metals as the Starheart crystal radiated a celestial light that was akin to the glass bottle handed to Frodo, from the Elven Queen, in Lord of the Rings. The Kyber Crystal was much the same though seemed to take the like and refract it, amplifying its power. The Obscurial was the most tumultuous ingredient as it struggled under my control, its natural proclivity forcing it to want to annihilate everything in its path.

'Would my magical skill be capable of making a staff out of all of these?'

[Yes... And if you succeed in making this then your Battlepass will complete immediately.]

'Why?'

[Because you would have the power to wipe them all out even if there were some slithers left.]

'Well, Geronimo!'

My hands clapped together as golden light enveloped everything before me. All of the materials floated upwards amidst the haze and began swirling around in a conjured tempest.

"Vocat nexum caeli, fractum sit velum inter mundos,Tempora fluant, spatia frangantur,Abysso ad Astris, aethera pateant!Audi voluntatem meam, o nexus infinitus,Aperi ianuam ultra cognitionem — nunc!"

Circles of concentric magic and dimensional energy latticed through the air around me as Godric's Hollow suddenly glowed with light for the third time in its existence. Gold, yellow, white, silver and rose-gold inundated the interior as the materials sparked and flared under the constant downpour of dimensional energies.

Dark Dimensional Energy, Anima Dimensional Energy, Anti-Matter, Quantum Matter, Astral Energy, The Energy of Morpheus, Phantom Essence... All of these extradimensional energies and concepts oozed into the soaring metals, imbuing them with the energies and ideas that would heat them and melt them into a combined alloy from which my staff would be constructed from.

I hissed as the magic of the Anima blazed through the ritual, smacking directly into my body and nearly making me buckle. The dimension itself was reinforcing my magic and pushing it to greater heights, the requirements of my own body rising along with the aid. With a powerful grunt I stood at full height and began the next step, the creation of my core... A process that would require a powerful miracle that would most likely drain a lot of my divine energy centred around Gaming. After this was completed I would have to create many games to make up for the expense of enforcing this miracle.

The radiance of my concept empowerment exploded with a passion as the Obscurial, Starheart, Pure Kyber Crystal and Tempest Glass all shattered against one another. Every single granular part of light was consumed by the amalgamated core before imploding outwards in a fractal explosion of space-time. Shards of space and magic drifted several centimetres from the surface of my staff's core.

It was an umbral ball of raw magic covered by a slowly roiling storm of lightning and anti-matter that constantly absorbed the left over energies of multiple dimensions. The fractal segments retracted and detracted as if it were moving in pace with a heartbeat, a detail that I soon connected to the pace of my own heart... This core was tied directly to my life... If I died, it would shatter and take whoever was close to me with it.

Sweat curled down my forehead as the metals slowly boiled into molten slagheaps that slapped into one another with a thick but wet plopping echo. Gritting my teeth I pushed on once more, channelling Symbolic Magic, Personal Magic, Relic magic, Enchantment Magic and Dimensional Magic to merge the wildly powerful metals into a unified alloy that would empower me much like Odin's Gungnir did for him.

"Í rúnum helgum, ek binda forn tákn til smíða!

Með hugi mínum, eldr sálna minnar mótar kjarna!

Með gripa krafti ok galdrs glóa, málmar hækka!

Gjá heima sameinast, Gungnis megin ek kalla!

Bræða, blanda, styrkja-rís, blandaðr málmr, kraft minn endrgefa!"

Ancient Norse slipped from my mouth as I recalled the various moments that i spent contributing to sacrifices with my mother... Throwing money away, burying gold and silver, symbolically throwing presents away to further show that we appreciate the gods... All of it coursed through me as my mind then directed the symbology towards my women.

Protecting them, fighting for them, ending threats towards them... Loving them, ensuring their comfort, defending their honour, bleeding for them if I must... A spark of magical essence from my own Fey nature split from my eyes and broke away towards the metal, a soft rose-gold energy fading into the mixture of metals. My personal magic had been added. The diadem upon my head shattered instantly as the next phase of magic sacrificed an ancient artefact to create something more, a relic. The metal turned to plasma underneath the sheer power of the sacrifice, my eyes drying out as the air turned into a haze of physical heat.

Gulping I flexed my hands open and engaged my magic, projecting hundreds of miniature magical arrows into the material, shaping it and enchanting it with all of the convenient and rare spells that cold possibly aid the use of such a powerful staff. That's what it was at this point, after the shaping from magic it had morphed into a ten-foot metal rod with a perfect hand-width. Shuddering I exhaled and once again summoned the dimensional energies, the anima ramping up the power by a factor of 7 as the metal itself hummed. The sound of flutes playing and harps crooning reverberated as the newly forged alloy polished itself and began taking on the appearance that I wished it to.

"Í rúnum helgum, ek binda kjarna til stafsins grund!

Með hugi mínum, eldr sálna minnar mótar sameining!

Með gripa krafti ok galdrs ljóma, staf skínn heilagr!

Gjá heima opnast, megin stafsins ek kalla til lífs!

Sameina, styrkja, rís-staf ok kjarna, mín kraft gefa!"

The fractal core faded from existence as the metal contracted and bubbled, the might of the magic within warping and moulding the metal into a vessel that could sustain its' existence. All light had faded now. Only shadow existed within this room.

Time was insignificant to the staff, but to me it was important as within a single moment... An instant between instants... The previously onyx staff then cracked its outer shell, flecks of black falling to the once ash-infested room. Pure dark-green metal shone menacingly in-between the few cracks that had emerged.

Suddenly the entire staff blazed a deep dark green and ominous raven colour as the fractal glass-like shards that once surrounded the core emerged at the head of the staff where four horned spirals of the newly forged alloy coiled around a central pulsing energy source, pure magic dimly glowing through the gaps in the horned elements, the glass pulsing in tune with the magic, which was fully attuned to my own heartbeat. The staff had two separate serpentine-like metallic coils that intertwined with one another; one black and other other dark green. The staff floated in mid-air and daintily floated over to me, entering my grasp within seconds.

Air syphoned towards the magical expulsion at the head of my new stave, an eldritch white-black fire spouting from the horns and faintly crackling under the exposure to the latent atmospheric magic...
