But the turn of events was beyond her expectations. Evan Palmer suddenly suggested that Adam Willow take over Oliver Ross's work. Emily raised an eyebrow, preparing to refuse, but Mrs. Carter stood up first with a firm voice and said,
"No, I don't agree with Adam Willow taking over. Carlos, you should be Emily's assistant."
Emily thought Carlos would refuse, given his usual arrogance, but Carlos only smiled slightly, nodded gently, and said,
"Okay."
