The beings surrounding them transformed into some kind of pig-like monsters that stood on two feet and began to stare at the two of them with even greater hostility, each of them wielding a broadsword that seemed to emanate a smell of blood that hadn't dried up for however long they had already been here, which was most likely before they even arrived in this place seeing as the monsters that had most likely been sentient had the form of a pig-like bipedal being instead of a wingless ehetrian like most others, actually, the succubus seemed to be of the same case once one began thinking about it.
But regardless of that the monsters had now started attacking them with their obvious bloodlust permeating the air as if it had been poison, poison that seemed to intimidate none other than Manug, but not Cades who had experienced something like this before, many a times actually.
As the first move the one that was the closest to them, one that was quite muscular, covered in armour, albeit only around the chest, and a weapon that grew out of a kind of gigantic root that seemed to resemble a mace more than a broadsword, seeing that it had a kind of spiked end.
But it was rather easy for Cades to block, deflecting it into the ground once more, by the same method that he had used so many times before, the method of blocking the weapon from a lower position while that very weapon that attacks comes from upwards, trying to annihilate him, meanwhile a single step and one could escape as long as they are powerful enough to stop the first attack.
And as such Cades once more did that very move that had now ingrained itself within his reflex and began to attack the lower half of the huge monster once more, just as he had done with the much more powerful troll before, and once more, he succeeded and the pig-like creature fell just as Cades had expected it to.
To his own misfortune, however, this creature didn't fight in a one on one, instead there were multiple other monsters of the same kind that now began attacking, one of them in the same way that the first one had attacked, and the other trying to sweep his feet away from the back, something that was still quite foolish as he just had to take a few steps to the front and evade the downwards attack all together, so much so that he was capable of almost instantly annihilating it now that he had truly entered the flow, and consequently the legs of the monster was destroyed, and the other that had attacked quickly began toppling over, as if it didn't know how to fight in the first place, resulting in Cades quickly defeating it with a powerful strike to the neck that quickly incapacitated the being just as the other being that had been struck at the leg but had stopped moving out of a, to him, unknown reason.
But soon after he began realizing that these beings weren't thinking for themselves, rather than that they were more so mindless, they were simply being commanded by the gigantic hunchback monster standing at the back that had now began to talk in a kind of grunting language that caused fear to stride across the heart of the two wanderers that fought at its feet.
But at that moment they began to realize just why the monster kept on talking, it was its own magic, the magic of the words, perhaps it was chanting, and as it did the monster started to grow stronger, faster, bigger, luckily enough it was now barely, ever so slightly stronger than the monstrous hunter that he had fought before.
And as such, while Manug was still fighting against three of the pig-like creatures the cloaked monster descended and began to fight Cades who instantly shot him with an overload, causing him to halt for a bit, perhaps interfering with the magic that the being had cast to strengthen himself, or perhaps causing the emulated muscles of the gigantic monster to cramp, or perhaps something else in relation to the special kind of magic that they use.
After the gigantic hunchback recovered from the first attack, the overload, it began to retaliate with a powerful punch from the top, but Cades evaded it and attacked the fist that now more so resembled a kind of smaller tree than anything else, cutting it as fast and as deeply as he could, resulting in a few light gashes that quickly started to regenerate, perhaps another part of the magic that they use.
The monster, however strong and big it might've been it was however much less powerful than it was originally thought to be, so much so that it's speed was ridiculously low, it was so low that Cades could've perhaps made an entire circle around the monster while it was recuperating for its next attack, had he been only slightly faster.
But, in return for that glaring weakness, the monster was incredibly durable, so much so that the strongest attacks he could use right now, however much weaker he might be right now, were barely able to make a gash of about ten inches deep, the most effective kind of attack was an overload, and he wasn't as adept at constantly using it as he wished himself to be right now.
This continued for some time with the hunchback constantly regenerating his whole body and enduring every single attack with relative ease, culminating in a few spells being shot towards Cades, each of them far too slow to really wound him though.
In his own confidence towards the gigantic monster that was almost easy to fight right now, he did however fail to realize that it was still not alone, and whether or not Manug continued to fight the few pig-creatures that he had already been fighting, there were about two dozen of the creatures left.
And those began moving now, listening to every single order of the hunchback whose eyes had now began pulsating.
