Chapter 155 - dragon guardian

TBW:torture and blood and violent and gore(maybe)

Mother and I set off towards the forest, and the sunlight casting dappled shadows on the trees as we flew. I felt a thrill of excitement, eager to learn more about hunting from Mother.

"Today, we'll be hunting for small prey," Mother said, her voice carried by the wind. "Keep your senses sharp, Tharros. We'll need to work together to catch our dinner."

I nodded, my silver scales glinting in the sunlight. I was determined to prove myself as a worthy hunting partner.

As we descended into the forest, Mother gestured for me to follow her. We landed softly on a branch, and Mother began to stalk her prey...

I smiled and saw a buffalo not far from here, so I decided to walk away to hunt it.

I stalked it a bit and launched myself and killed it, and suddenly I got caught by a trap and a human appearance, and it is a human male, and he spoke "to think humanity is nearly extinct I can torment you!"

The human male sneered at me, his eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and malice. "A dragon, and a young one at that," he said, his voice dripping with contempt. "I've always wanted to see one up close. You're quite the prize."

I struggled against the trap, but it held fast. I was pinned beneath its heavy metal jaws, unable to move. The human male began to circle around me, his eyes roving over my body.

"You know, I've heard that dragon scales are incredibly valuable," he said, his voice filled with greed. "I could make a fortune selling your scales on the black market."

I growled, baring my teeth. "You're not going to harm me," I said, trying to sound braver than I felt. "My family will come for me."

The human male chuckled. "Oh, I'm shaking in my boots," he said, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "But don't worry, I'll make sure to have some fun with you before I sell you off. Your dragons are supposed to be fierce and proud, after all. Let's see how you handle a little... torment."

He reached out a hand and touched my scales, and I felt a surge of anger and fear. I thrashed against the trap, but it held fast. I was trapped, and I didn't know how I was going to get out of this situation...

The human began to torture me, and I was bleeding.

I roar in so much pain, and the human launched ripping my silver scales.

As hours passed, I saw my father looking angry, and I lost consciousness, and when I woke up, I was in the mountain cave, and I was fully healed, and I saw father worried face.

I saw Father's worried face, his eyes etched with concern as he gazed at me. "Tharros, my son," he whispered, his voice trembling with relief. "I was so scared when I found out what happened to you. You're safe now, and you're going to be okay."

I tried to speak, but my throat was dry and sore. Father gently poured a cup of water and helped me drink it. As the cool liquid touched my parched tongue, I felt a wave of comfort wash over me.

"Father," I croaked, my voice barely above a whisper. "What...what happened?"

Father's expression turned dark, his eyes flashing with anger. "The human who hurt you...I'll find him. He'll pay for what he's done."

I reached out, touching Father's scaly arm. "No, Father...don't. I'm okay now. Just...just being here with you makes me feel better."

Father's face softened, and he wrapped his claws gently around me, pulling me into a warm hug. "You're safe now, Tharros. I promise."

I question, "What happened to the human?" Father answered, but it wasn't too clear "let just say he is fully digested inside my stomach!"

I sighed, knowing he would do that. He was on keep me safe is to killed and devoured he literally wouldn't hesitated if someone hurt me even it was just water.

I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions knowing that the human who hurt me was gone, consumed by Father's fierce protection. It was a reminder of the harsh world we lived in, where survival often meant eliminating threats without hesitation.

Father's eyes seemed to gleam with a primal satisfaction, a testament to his unwavering dedication to keeping me safe. I knew he would stop at nothing to protect me, and that thought brought both comfort and a sense of awe at the depths of his love.

As I looked at Father, I felt grateful for his presence in my life, for the sacrifices he made to ensure my well-being. His actions, though brutal, were a manifestation of his devotion to me, and I knew that I could always count on him to be there for me, no matter what.

He would go in rabid mode if something hurt me, I remember one time when one human water mage splash water at me, and he went rabid in full rage that he killed and devoted everyone in the human city.

The memory of that incident still sent a shiver down my spine. Father's rage was a sight to behold, his massive body unleashing a torrent of fury upon the human city. The humans, unaware of the danger that lurked among them, had no chance against Father's wrath.

The sound of crashing buildings, the screams of the humans, and the thunderous roar of Father's flames still echoed in my mind. It was a terrifying yet awe-inspiring display of power, a testament to the devastating consequences of triggering Father's protective instincts.

Despite the fearsome display, I knew that Father's actions were driven by his love and devotion to me. He would stop at nothing to ensure my safety, and that knowledge filled me with a sense of gratitude and wonder.

Father spoke, "Don't worry, Father, here to protect you, and I will make sure that the one dare to hurt you will be punished!" He roar, and Mother doesn't like Father way of keeping me safe because she thinks killing and devouring everything is too cruel even for a dragon.

Father's words were laced with a fierce determination, his eyes burning with an inner fire that seemed to fuel his every action. Mother, however, looked on with a mixture of concern and disapproval, her light green scales glistening in the dim light of the cave.

"I understand your desire to protect Tharros, Aetherius," Mother said, her voice measured and calm, "but must you always resort to such... extreme measures? Can't we find a more... diplomatic solution?"

Father's expression turned stubborn, his jaw set in a firm line. "Diplomacy is for the weak, Thyriatrix," he growled. "When it comes to our child's safety, I will not hesitate to take whatever action necessary."

Mother sighed, her eyes filled with a deep understanding of Father's motivations, but also a hint of frustration. "I know you want to protect Tharros, but there's a fine line between protection and vengeance. Let's not forget that we are not just dragons but also parents."

"I know you want to protect Tharros, but there's a fine line between protection and vengeance. Let's not forget that we are not just dragons, but also parents." Father, look at me and hug me tightly with love.

Father's eyes softened, and he gazed at me with a deep affection. He wrapped his massive claws around me, pulling me into a warm, crushing hug. I felt safe and protected in his embrace, the warmth of his scales and the beating of his heart a soothing balm to my soul.

"Tharros, my son," he whispered, his voice full of love and concern. "You're safe now. I'll always be here to protect you, to keep you safe from harm. You're my everything, and I love you more than words can say."

I hugged him back, feeling a sense of comfort and security in his arms. "I love you too, Father," I said, my voice muffled against his scales.

In that moment, everything else seemed to fade away, and all that mattered was the love and connection between us.

As days passed and I was sending on the edge of the mountains cave, I was fully recovered, and Father is well let just say that when he sees a human, he will do to them to protect me.

As I sat on the edge of the mountain cave, the warm sun on my scales and the gentle breeze rustling my wings, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. The landscape stretched out before me, a breathtaking vista of rolling hills and distant mountains.

Father stood watchfully nearby, his eyes ever-vigilant for any signs of danger. His protective instincts were still on high alert, and I knew he would stop at nothing to keep me safe.

I glanced over at him, and our eyes met in a moment of understanding. Father's fierce devotion to me was unwavering, and I knew that he would always be there to defend me, no matter the cost.

In that moment, I felt grateful for his love and protection, even if it meant that humans would be wary of approaching our mountain home. The thought brought a small smile to my face, knowing that Father would always have my back.

I sighed and got ready to do my dragon guardian duties when I heard Father's voice. "I be going with you!" I look at Father in disbelief.

I looked at Mother, and she said, "I can't stop him he even somehow convinced the elder that he should join in your duties, Tharros!"

I stared at Father, a mix of surprise and trepidation on my face. "Father, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm not sure it's necessary for you to join me on my duties as Dragon Guardian," I said, trying to reason with him.

But Father's expression was resolute, his jaw set in determination. "I've been training for this moment my whole life, Tharros," he said. "I know the ways of the humans, and I know how to protect you. I'm not going to let you face whatever dangers lie ahead alone."

I turned to Mother, hoping she would intervene, but she just shrugged and smiled. "I've tried to talk him out of it, Tharros, but he's been...persistent. Even the elder seems to think it's a good idea."

I sighed, realizing that Father was not going to be easily swayed. "Fine," I said, resigned. "But you have to promise to follow my lead and not...overreact to any situations we might encounter."

Father grinned, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "I promise, Tharros. I'll be on my best behavior." I wasn't entirely convinced, but I knew that arguing further would be pointless.

As we flew off, I did my first test of today as the dragon guardian.

The wind rushed past me as we soared through the skies, the landscape unfolding below like a vast, intricate map. As the Dragon Guardian, my senses were on high alert, scanning the horizon for any signs of trouble or imbalance.

Suddenly, I felt a disturbance in the elemental energies, a ripple in the fabric of the world that signaled a problem. I banked and turned, flying towards the source of the disturbance.

"Father, I think I've found something," I said, my voice steady and focused. "Let's go take a closer look."

Father flew alongside me, his eyes scanning the ground below. "What is it, Tharros? What's wrong?"

"I sense a disruption in the elemental balance," I replied. "It might be a natural phenomenon, but it's worth investigating."

Together, we descended into the heart of the disturbance, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

As I investigate, I found the problem to be a group of rogue dragons who were recklessly using their elemental powers, causing an imbalance in the natural energies and threatening the harmony of the land.

This discovery sparks a new challenge for me as the Dragon Guardian. I need to figure out what's driving these dragons to behave this way and find a way to stop them before it's too late.

I walk towards the dragons despite my shyness. I have to do my job.

I spoke "Hey you guys can't recklessly use your elements power!"

One dragon looked down at me and said, "And why should we listen to a hatchling like you?"

Before I could respond, Father wrapped his wing around me, and I whispered "Father I get it. I'm a very shy hatchling, but can I at least do my job?"

Father's wing wrapped around me, a protective gesture that seemed to say "I've got this." But I stood my ground, whispering to him to let me handle it. Father's expression softened, and he nodded slightly, removing his wing and allowing me to take the lead.

I took a deep breath and stood tall, looking up at the rogue dragon. "I'm not just a hatchling," I said, trying to sound confident. "I'm the Dragon Guardian, and it's my duty to maintain balance and harmony in our lands. You're disrupting the natural energies, and it's affecting our world. I need you to stop."

The dragon sneered, but I could see a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. "What makes you think you can stop us?" he asked, his tone slightly less aggressive.

I stood my ground, trying to channel my inner strength. "Because it's my job, and I won't let you continue to harm our world. I'll do whatever it takes to protect it."

Father watched with pride, his eyes shining with admiration. The rogue dragon snorted, but I could see the faintest glimmer of respect in his gaze. What happens next?

Father smiled, but something in his smile made the dragons shiver, "I appreciate you guys listen, my son at least so please listen him!"

The rogue dragons' eyes widened, and they took a step back, their demeanor changing from defiance to caution. The leader of the group, the one who had sneered at me earlier, swallowed hard and nodded. "A-Alright, Dragon Guardian, we'll listen," he stammered.

Father's smile seemed to grow, and his eyes gleamed with a fierce intensity. "Good," he said, his voice low and rumbling. "My son's words are to be taken seriously. You would do well to remember that."

The dragons nodded, their eyes darting nervously between Father and me. I felt a surge of gratitude towards Father, but also a sense of responsibility. I needed to assert my authority as the Dragon Guardian and show them that I was capable of handling the situation.

"Let's talk about what's going on," I said, trying to sound calm and confident. "What's driving you to use your powers recklessly?"

The dragons exchanged nervous glances, and the leader spoke up. "We've been feeling...restless. The land has been changing, and we're not sure how to adapt. We've been trying to find a way to cope, but it's not working."

I nodded, intrigued. "I see. Let's work together to find a solution. But first, you need to stop using your powers like this. It's causing more harm than good."

The dragons nodded, seeming to accept my authority. But I knew that this was just the beginning. We had a long road ahead of us, and I needed to be prepared to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

As I spoke, "Have you tried to control your elements and make it small of maybe do something that isn't harming the land at all!" Father gave a grin, and this made the dragons shiver they look so terrified.

The dragons' eyes went wide with fear, and they took a step back, their voices barely above a whisper. "C-control our elements? Y-you mean, like...taming them?" one of them stammered.

Father's grin seemed to grow, and his eyes gleamed with an unnerving intensity. "Yes, my son's suggestion is a good one," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You should learn to control your powers, rather than letting them control you."

The dragons nodded frantically, their scales trembling with fear. "Y-yes, Dragon Guardian, we'll try. We'll do whatever it takes to make it right," they promised in unison.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I watched the dragons cower before Father's intimidating presence. While it was effective in getting them to listen, I wasn't sure if it was the right approach. Perhaps a balance between firmness and understanding would be more beneficial in the long run.

"Let's focus on finding a solution together," I said, trying to steer the conversation back on track. "I'll help you learn to control your elements, and we can work together to restore balance to the land."

The dragons nodded, still looking wary, but seeming to accept my offer. Father's grin slowly faded, and he nodded in approval, his eyes still gleaming with a fierce protectiveness.

I whispered "Father what did you do to make them this scared?" But he didn't answered so we talked to them of the solution.

I whispered to Father, "What did you do to make them so scared?" But he just gave me a mysterious smile and didn't respond.

I turned my attention back to the dragons, and we began discussing the solution. "Alright, let's start with small, controlled exercises to help you master your elements," I suggested. "We can practice in a safe area, away from the land's sensitive ecosystems."

The dragons nodded, still looking a bit intimidated, but willing to cooperate. Father stood watchfully, his eyes fixed on them, as we worked out the details of our plan.

As we talked, I couldn't help but wonder what Father's secret was. What had he done to inspire such fear in the dragons? I made a mental note to ask him about it later, when we were alone. For now, I focused on helping the dragons learn to control their powers and restore balance to the land.

I were discussing the solution with the dragons, and they seemed willing to cooperate.

As we finalized the plan, I couldn't help but notice Father's intense gaze on the dragons. It was as if he was waiting for them to slip up so he could pounce. I made a mental note to keep an eye on him, ensuring he didn't overstep his boundaries.

With the plan in place, we began the exercises, guiding the dragons through controlled bursts of elemental energy. Slowly but surely, they started to grasp the concept, their powers becoming more manageable.

As the training progressed, I noticed a change in the dragons' demeanor. They seemed more confident, their fear giving way to determination. Father's presence still loomed over them, but they no longer cowered in his presence.

The training continued, and I felt a sense of pride watching the dragons learn and grow. But I still wondered what Father's secret was, what had inspired such fear in the dragons. I'd have to ask him about it later, when we were alone.

As the dragons get ready to leave, they said "OK, Mr. Aetherius sir, we are leaving, and please, we beg of you don't... uhhh... goodbye!" They fly off, and I look at Father in full confusion.

I stared at Father, utterly perplexed. "What just happened?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Why did they call you 'Mr. Aetherius sir' and why did they seem so terrified of you?"

Father chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that seemed to vibrate through the air. "Let's just say I have a certain... reputation among the dragon community," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What kind of reputation?" I pressed, my curiosity getting the better of me.

Father's smile grew wider, but he said nothing, simply turning to walk away. I followed him, my mind racing with questions and theories about Father's mysterious reputation and the dragons' fearful behavior. What secrets was Father hiding, and what lay behind his enigmatic smile?

As I finished my duties, all the dragon I talk they seem terrified many dragons we came across, and I went to Mother and asked about it.

She spoke, "Well, in our clan, not many dragons scared of him, but the dragons you come across could be another clan or a new member of our clan!"

Mother sighed, "There have been stories from a few other clans about your father that I'm not going to talk about because it is so not true."

Mother spoke in frustration. "He took it advantage to scared many dragons from other clans! And I feel so sorry for them!"

I listened to Mother's explanation, my eyes widening in surprise. So, Father's reputation wasn't just a rumor, but a reality that had spread across different clans. I couldn't help but wonder what had happened in the past that had led to this.

"Mother, what kind of stories are being told about Father?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. Mother hesitated, and I could sense her frustration and concern.

"Let's just say, your father's methods can be...unorthodox," she said, choosing her words carefully. "Some dragons might see him as intimidating or even ruthless. But I know the truth – he's a complex person with a strong sense of justice."

I nodded, taking in Mother's words. I knew Father was a bit of a mystery, but I had always felt safe and loved around him. Now, I was starting to realize that there was more to him than met the eye.

"Mother, do you think Father enjoys being feared by other dragons?" I asked, trying to understand his motivations.

Mother's expression softened. "I think your father wants respect, Tharros. He wants to be taken seriously. But sometimes, his methods can be...misinterpreted." She smiled wryly. "Your father is a good person, but he's not always the most diplomatic."

I chuckled, imagining Father's interactions with other dragons. I was grateful to have Mother's insight, and I felt a deeper understanding of Father's complexities. But I still had a feeling that there was more to the story, and I was determined to learn more.

Father smiled "the stories is about me eating dragons, but there is no proof!" She nodded.

Mother's eyes widened slightly, and she shook her head. "Well, let's just say that's one story that's been circulating," she said dryly. "But I'm sure it's completely unfounded, Aetherius." Her tone was laced with sarcasm, and I could sense her amusement at Father's nonchalant response.

Father chuckled, seeming to enjoy the attention. "Of course, it's just a ridiculous rumor," he said with a grin. "I mean, would I do something like that?" His eyes sparkled with mischief, leaving me wondering if there was any truth to the stories after all.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the exchange. "Father, did you really...?" I started to ask, but Mother interrupted me.

"Tharros, don't encourage him," she said with a laugh. "Let's just focus on the fact that your father has a...colorful reputation." She smiled at Father, and I could sense the playful dynamic between them.

Father's grin grew wider, and he wrapped an arm around Mother, pulling her close. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here," he said, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Mother sighed. "Just know you can trick our clan, and our dragon lord knows the stories are false!"

But Father smiled and nuzzled her and said "Yeah but that doesn't mean I can't scared other dragons that is not part of our clan!"

Mother rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "Aetherius, you're impossible. Sometimes I wonder how you manage to keep a straight face." She shook her head, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.

Father chuckled, clearly pleased with himself. "It's all about confidence and presence, my dear. And a little bit of mischief never hurts." He winked at me, and I couldn't help but laugh at his antics.

I realized that Father's reputation was likely a mix of truth and exaggeration, but one thing was certain – he enjoyed the mystique surrounding him. And Mother, despite her teasing, seemed to appreciate his unique personality.

As I watched them interact, I felt grateful for the lighthearted moment. It was nice to see Father's playful side, even if it was at the expense of other dragons' fear. I wondered what other stories lay hidden behind Father's enigmatic smile.

Mother sighed "alright what do you guys want since my older brother Valthorn is coming over to first-time meeting the little ones!"

Father frowned. "I have some words about that the little ones often tried to go to inside my stomach again. Seriously, they hadn't even met their uncle Valthorn, and they did it what he did to his poor father stomach!" Mother giggled and nodded.

I chuckled, remembering the times I'd tried to crawl into Father's stomach. It was a phase I'd gone through, and Father had always patiently redirected me to more appropriate activities.

"Ah, Valthorn's coming, huh?" I said, excitement building up. "I've heard so much about him! And yeah, father, your stomach is very cozy and warm. I actually missed being in there!"

Father's expression changed from grumpy to horrified in an instant. "Tharros, no, no, no! Don't say things like that, especially not when Valthorn is coming over!" He looked like he was about to have a panic attack.

Mother burst out laughing, holding her sides. "Aetherius, you're so easy to tease! Tharros, stop teasing your father, dear."

I grinned mischievously, enjoying Father's reaction. "Sorry, Father. I couldn't resist. But seriously, what can we expect from Uncle Valthorn's visit?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

Father still looked a bit shaken, but he composed himself. "Just be on your best behavior, Tharros. And try not to...you know...attempt to inhabit my stomach again." He gave me a stern look, but I could see the amusement lurking behind his eyes.

Father spoke, "Like seriously at my first time meeting him, I thought he was some way good."

Father, look at me, "but after you, Tharros, go inside my stomach, Thyriatrix told the stories that he often went inside his father's stomach, and since then, you guys did the same! Just wanted to be like your guys' uncle!"

I smiled "Mother when will he arrive?" Mother answered "next week!"

I chuckled, feeling a bit guilty for teasing Father earlier. "Sorry, Father. I didn't mean to stir up old memories." I looked at Mother, excitement building up again. "Next week, huh? I'll make sure to be on my best behavior...and not try to crawl into anyone's stomach." I grinned, trying to reassure Father.

Father's expression softened slightly, but he still looked wary. "Good, Tharros. Let's just keep it that way, okay?" He shook his head, chuckling. "I have a feeling Valthorn's visit is going to be...interesting."

Mother smiled, "I'm sure it'll be a great opportunity for the kids to bond with their uncle. And Aetherius, try not to be too...grumpy." She teased Father, and I could sense the playful dynamic between them.

I looked forward to meeting Uncle Valthorn and seeing how he'd fit into our family dynamics. With Father's unique sense of humor and Mother's warmth, I knew it'd be an adventure.

Father frowned. "For some, p feel like my stomach will have a big of a ride later on!"

I burst out laughing at Father's dramatic prediction. "Oh, Father, you're so funny! I'm sure Uncle Valthorn will appreciate your...hospitality." I chuckled, imagining the look on Uncle Valthorn's face if I did decide to crawl into Father's stomach again.

Mother giggled, shaking her head. "Aetherius, you're such a worrier. Let's just focus on making sure everyone has a good time." She patted Father's arm reassuringly.

Father grumbled good-naturedly, "I'll try, but I'm warning you both now: stomach boundaries will be strictly enforced." He gave me a mock-stern look, and I grinned, knowing he'd always be up for a laugh.

With the excitement of Uncle Valthorn's upcoming visit, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. I looked forward to seeing how our little family would come together and create new memories.

As the conversation came to a close, Mother smiled warmly. "Let's get everything ready for Uncle Valthorn's visit. I'll start preparing some of his favorite dishes, and Tharros, you can help me with the preparations."

I nodded enthusiastically, eager to contribute. "I'd love to help, Mother! What can I do?"

Father chuckled, "Just don't try to sneak into my stomach while you're helping, okay?"

I laughed, "I promise, Father. No stomach-surfing during Uncle Valthorn's visit."

With that, our little family moment came to a close, and we began making preparations for Uncle Valthorn's arrival. I couldn't wait to see what adventures lay ahead.

Spoiled alert:
