Chapter 29 - One Shot, Floor Boss (2\2)

"So... you're the floor boss, huh?"

At the centre of the room, a large hulking goblin holding a pair of axes with pieces of armour on most of his body parts.

His towering frame was marked with a large scar running from its left eye down to its chin giving it a menacing look.

GRHH!

"Get ready! I would advise you to give it your all!" Blake said with a smile.

"I'll be able to do it right? I'll be able to one-shot this floor boss before me!" Slamming his feet to the ground, he exploded forward.

At the same time, the goblin charged forward activating its skill. Its body was covered in a thin sheet of red light as he raised its axe aiming to slash down.

Just as the two were about to clash, a figure dropped at their centre throwing out both fists.

Blake felt a tinge of danger from the attack heading his way. Leaning backwards, he managed to evade the strike but his attack had missed the goblin by a hair.

The goblin chief, on the other hand, raised his other axe blocking the hit while getting pushed backwards.

"Get your hands off my prey!" Blake shouted swinging his fist. The purple-haired guy let out a loud snort before retaliating with a fist of his.

Both fists clashed with a clear winner. The guy flew backwards before managing to steady himself mid-air.

"Strong!" He muttered in amazement. 'His strength is similar to those on the tenth floor. Then, what's he doing here? Isn't he aware he won't be able to gain enough EXP to level down here?'

It was common knowledge to all, Ascendants couldn't gain Exp from monsters below their rank.

"Screw it!" Charging forward, he began swinging his hand weirdly, in a circular motion.

"What's he doing? Gathering momentum? No, it's different." With his heightened sense, Blake could sense a large amount of mana gathering within the hand in motion.

"Take... this!" The guy exclaimed swinging his hands forward. Blake followed up, striking forward also. Both fists crashed with the guy getting pushed back a few metres before coming to a stop.

"Even that is not enough? Just what level is he?"

The goblin chief rising from the ground let out a loud shriek before charging forward. Its eyes were filled with rage as it charged towards the one that punched him away.

"Would you look at that?! Even the monster doesn't want to play with you anymore." Pumping his fist, the purple-haired guy prepared for the clash.

An arc of pink light edged forward causing both to jump backwards narrowly evading the sudden attack.

"It seems I was a bit late. But the fun isn't over yet," the figure said calmly walking into the room. Her pink ponytail bounced softly as she skipped forward with a wide smile.

"Thanks for keeping it company. You guys can leave now." She said drawing out a pink blade katana, her eyes fixed on the Goblin chief.

"_"

"Really?"

Shaking his head, Blake couldn't help but let out a chuckle. Looking at the girl before him, he couldn't help but find similarities between her and those who were locked in homes back then before the descent of the mana.

"Who do you think you are?" The purple-haired guy said with a frown his gauntlet cladded fist clenched in preparation.

Hehe. "I guess I would have to deal with the ants first before the main meal. Alright, brace yourself. The blade of the pink demon has marked you. The only thing left... death!"

Her form vanished from sight as she struck the purple-haired figure who blocked with his gauntlets.

The goblin was gobsmacked. Its rage was increasing at the moment. Who were these humans. Ignoring him, the great chief who had passed through tens of battles.

KIEEEEK!

The goblin let out a loud growl and then as if on cue, from the broken parts of the walls in the boss room, goblins began pouring in.

"Hold tight..." Blake muttered to Cassie as he summoned his daggers. "Or do you want a shot?"

"No, it's too risky." Blake answered his question, a frown settling on his face. He didn't know what the other two would do to the little girl on his back if he let her join the fight.

Given their crazy personality, he was sure they wouldn't mind if she was a kid, especially the pink-haired girl.

With the room filled with goblins, both battles came to a standstill as they began battling against the waves of goblins.

Blake watched with keen eyes before staring at the goblin chief who had his axe clenched tight as it charged at the purple-haired figure.

"Not on my watch." Crouching slightly, he exploded forward clenching his fist tightly.

"This is it!"

His body weaved through the goblins before finally getting to the floor boss. Raising his clenched fist, he leapt high and then spinning down, struck the goblin chief head.

BOOOOM!

The room was momentarily shaken from the crash of a large body with dust rising from the ground.

Ahhhh. Blake let out a soft breath staring at his fist. "I never expected it to go that way." With the dust dispelled, they could see the body of the floor boss. But something was wrong.

Half of his upper body was missing as if pulverised. Slowly it broke into motes of light with a yellow orb entering Blake's body.
