The frantic Ollie felt better.
Not exactly fine, but his throat felt like it had unclogged. However, his eyes weren't faring so well—still threatening to gush from exhaustion, adrenaline, and all these swelling feelings.

"But the mister and the child back there aren't fine!" He suddenly drooped, remembering the people left behind and his pinky promise.
But there was no time for a pity party.

This was his mission.
He must see this through!
And so, because of course he would, Ollie pulled back just enough to launch into a full-on reenactment of the nightmare he'd just escaped.
"Okay—okay—so there's this big guy," he said, voice deepening as he puffed up his chest.
"'LISTEN UP! Unless you wanna watch this kid get it, you're gonna flush out the coward nobles hiding in the vents like rats!'"
Kyle blinked.
