Stepping out of the shower while raking her fingers through her hair, Lariette realized her phone was vibrating on the bed. She put it on silent mode previously.
'Who is it?'
Someone was calling her. Lariette's eyes caught a brief glimpse of Declan's name on the screen before the call ended.
Raising her brows, Lariette muttered to herself, "Is it about that?"
Lariette tightened the bathrobe sash around her waist as she headed to the bed, her steps slow. The remaining droplets of water clung to her skin, chilled from the cold shower.
Lariette heard nothing significant from the outside but, the buttery scent of the pie being baked slipped through the thin gap of the door. Ruediger was most likely still in the kitchen.
She chuckled as she imagined how good the pastry would taste. Surely, his craft wouldn't disappoint her.
'Let's check this first.'
