Inside the classroom building, the echo of hurried footsteps rang out like warning drums. The student with glasses sprinted forward, but just a few paces ahead, Felix surged ahead, his body a conduit for barely-contained restlessness. He skidded to a sudden stop, eyes darting frantically in every direction like a trapped bird searching for escape. He snapped his head to the rear.
"Which way? Where are they?" he asked, his voice tense, quivering with urgency and the weight of imagined worst-case scenarios.
"I tried to tell you the location, but you vanished before I could," the bespectacled student replied, breathless and slightly reproachful.
"Please, cut to the chase," Felix cut in sharply, his patience hanging by a thread. Their eyes locked for a heartbeat, wind threading between them, tousling their hair like the fingers of an unseen hand carrying tension in its gust.
"The rooftop," the student said, his tone final, clear.
