Tiger King and Dragon Queen
Volume 1 Chapter 11: It Started So Normal…
The seconds ticked down so annoyingly slowly. Yang was practically ready to break her pencil in half at how tantalizingly close it was. How Azura, lying back in his chair calm and collected, could be so patient now was beyond her. Finally, indeed mercifully, the bell finally rang.
Yang was walking fast out of class, considering she would rather do anything than sit still today, until Azura grabbed her shoulder unintentionally a little too hard. This caused her to grab his hand on her shoulder and, reacting with her right hand, shark grappled Azura by the throat briefly into a wall before shaking her head in shock. "Ahhh! Azura! Fuck, I'm sorry! I'm so zoned out still from that boring class I must have been on guard without thinking!"
As Yang released her grip, Azura coughed a bit as he rubbed his throat. "I-It is fine, Yang. I should have gone for a shoulder tap instead. But I have to say that your reaction time has really improved." He replied, giving a small nervous smile as he complimented her.
She blushed. "Thank you." She brushed her hair away, "Sooo, why are you so interested in my moves? You want to teach me more skills?" She said, giving him three punches on the arm and a light uppercut to the stomach.
Azura chuckled nervously before clearing his throat. "A-Actually, I wanted to ask you something."
"Oh? What is it you wanna ask?" Yang blushed more but gave a flirty eye like that of a tiger before mating season.
Azura blushed and shuffled his feet nervously. "D-Do you… uh… w-want to go hang out tomorrow before training? Just the two of us…?" He asked her shyly.
Yang looked down for a bit, bit her finger, and then looked up. "Yeah, I'd really like that, Azu. Uhhh…." She looked off into the distance briefly, "You wanna do five AM?"
Azura smiled brightly but still looked a bit nervous. "S-Sure! How does a picnic sound?" He asked, not realizing how much that sounded like a date.
"Yup!" Yang replied, giving him a hug and walking away with her hips swaying before she turned to him with a cocky smile and her first two fingers by her forehead, then did a salute. "By the way, my favorite dessert is red velvet cupcakes with rainbow frosting." She told him with a playful smile.
Azura waved nervously but gave a big smile. "I-I will make sure to bake and bring some. Though I will admit that I do not have the most experience with red velvet…"
She just giggled like a schoolgirl and walked away, purposely making sure her butt was in full view.
Azura smiled, but then it began to dawn on him how that all sounded. "Di… Did I just make us hanging out again another date…?" He asked in disbelief.
Saturday Morning, Xiao Long-Rose Family Cabin; Five AM
Ruby rubbed her eyes and looked out the door, seeing her sister putting two different dresses in front of her. "The sleek black one with the cut at the leg." She said with a slight groan.
Yang turned around, a little shocked at seeing her baby sister awake. "But the yellow sundress with lace on top and the pink bow on the back is perfect for a picnic."
Ruby rolled her eyes. "C'mon, sis. Do you wanna give him a boner or do you wanna match the date theme?" She replied, sounding groggy.
Yang gave her sister a dirty look and then said, "Alright fine. But also, I don't feel like dad killing him before we're together." She then went to the bathroom to change.
As Yang stepped out of the bathroom, she had to tiptoe holding her Gladiator sandals in her hands. She took a breath and then jumped out of the first story window, seeing Azura in a black flannel shirt and ripped up black jeans, a picnic basket in hand.
Azura immediately blushed when he saw what she was wearing and gulped. "W… Wow…" He merely let out in breath.
"Shhh." Yang said with her first finger to her lips and walked up to him giving him a quick peck on the lips. "Let's go before my dad and Qrow kill you. C'mon." She told him in a whisper.
Azura blushed red. "R… Right…" He replied, nervously offering her his arm.
"Such a gentleman." She stated, with a smile as she walked off with him, the air was still crisp and night still lingering.
Eventually, Azura led them to a little spot near their cabins that he had found while looking around the previous day. There was a small stream nearby, the babbling of the water and the hooting of owls making the atmosphere feel a lot more romantic than it should. Especially with the moon still out bright in the sky and the stars twinkling to light up the night.
Yang blushed. "Damn, Azura. I know you're a hopeless romantic, but I never thought you'd pull this on me." She said in a calm voice.
She then grabbed him by the hand and dragged him to the edge of the stream. Azura immediately set down the basket and pulled out the picnic blanket, yellow and blue in color. Unfurling it, he laid it down and straightened it out before setting the picnic basket on it. Looking at Yang, he gave a nervous gentlemanly bow, motioning for her to have a seat.
She gave a little curtsy and sat down. She then asked, "So what are we having?"
Azura smiled a bit, trying to contain the butterflies in his stomach. "W-Well I made some sandwiches, some homemade tomato soup in a sealed bowl, and some homemade red velvet cupcakes just the way you like them. I also made us some fruit juices." He replied nervously, making her some tomato soup.
"Nice." Yang replied as she then ate two grilled cheese sandwiches with her soup and then had half of a tuna sandwich.
She then proceeded to do cartwheels in the area and sat down, stretched her legs, and turned to Azura and asked, "Soooo, how long have you been a samurai?"
Azura smiled a bit nervously as he politely dug into his food. "I was actually born into this life. My family have been part of the Sōtora clan for many generations. It is basically who we really are."
Yang grabbed a cupcake and took a bite. "Damn, like… Holy cow these are the best red velvet cakes I've had in forever! But anyway." She swallowed her bite, then said, "How many generations are we talking? Six? Twelve?" She giggled then took another bite.
Azura looked a bit nervous. "A-Actually, I am descended from one of the founders of my clan. In fact, I am a great descendant of the Main Family's founder." He told her.
"Sooo, like five thousand years ago or something?" She asked, taking her last bite before taking another cupcake and biting into a second one.
"A few generations before the founding of the Four Kingdoms, actually. We… were actually one of the clans that helped establish the Kingdom of Mistral." The azure samurai explained.
Yang dropped her cupcake. "Damn, dude." She then stared at him for a moment, then grabbed her juice and drank the whole thing. "Honestly, my mom's side came from a tribe of thieves and mercenaries. The oldest thing I know is at one point they used to have a king of thieves, but it didn't last long. Qrow said his great uncle was the king's right-hand man, so it's in the family to take charge with kings."
Azura smiled a bit. "It looks like we're both descended from great authority figures." The azure shōgun replied.
Yang shrugged her shoulders. "I guess, but after my great uncle's time, they stopped having kings. So, we might have been dating back from a whole lot of the right hand for hundreds of years, but we don't know much about it. "She then ate another cupcake and then said, "Honestly, I do know Summer Rose came from a clan of healers at one point. Ruby's grandmother came by and told her how to use herbs here and there."
Azura began having a bit of his soup. "It sounds to me like you were incredibly lucky that you and Ruby were raised by her and your father. I can tell that, however long Summer was in your life, she had a significant impact on you two." He replied with a gentle smile.
Yang then finished her tuna sandwich and turned to the sky. "Crap, it's almost seven o' clock! We gotta head back for training!"
Azura almost jumped up at that. "Oh shit! You are right! We have to get back and get ready for training!" He replied, starting to pack up what they had not finished for lunch after training.
They went very quickly back to the cabin, not having much time to think about their time alone together. Finally, they reached the cabin and Yang turned to him stating, "Thank you so much for your time. I'm also happy I got to talk about both my moms in a brighter light." She blushed again and gave him a look.
Azura blushed as well but smiled. "You are welcome. Honestly, it is nice getting to be treated like a normal guy." He replied, taking her hand and giving the back of it a polite, gentlemanly kiss.
Before Azura could react, Yang pulled him close and hugged him. Caught off guard for only a moment, the azure samurai soon smiled and wrapped his arms around her, returning the hug. For a long moment, neither of them moved an inch. They simply held each other and enjoyed the feeling of being in each other's embrace. For some reason, it just felt right for them.
Soon, they pulled back without breaking the hug as Yang looked up at Azura. Lilac eyes stared into dark azure blues as Azura blushed more, gently brushing a little bit of hair out of the blonde bombshell's face and behind her ear. Giving a smile, the blonde pugilist placed a hand gently on the blue shōgun's cheek as she slowly leaned in.
Azura eyes widened in shock as he realized what was happening. 'I… Is she going to…?' He thought as he subconsciously leaned in as well, his lips trembling in anticipation.
Hearts beating against their rib cages with ever increasing speed, the two both slowly shut their eyes on pure instinct as they came closer and closer to lip-to-lip contact. However, the moment was soon lost as they heard Taiyang's voice. "Good morning, Yang."
The two jumped and immediately sprang apart. Yang growled as she turned to look at her dad, looking as red as a tomato with deep anger in her eyes. "You should get ready for training." He told the two.
Yang then stomped her feet and walked away from Azura, giving her father a heated glare on her way into the cabin for ruining her moment with the azure samurai. Azura's face was just as red as Yang's as he cleared his throat. "H… Hello, Lord Xiao Long. Th… this is not what it looks like…" He replied to Yang and Ruby's father.
"What is it meant to look like, Azura?" The Xiao Long patriarch asked calmly.
Azura gulped, knowing that he had to choose his words very carefully. "W-Well… I-I was just hoping Yang and I could spend time together for a couple of hours before training and it… m-may or may not have turned into another accidental date…" He nervously told the blonde father.
"'Another'? As in more than one?" Tai asked, incredulously.
Azura shifted his feet nervously. "We… may or may not have turned us spending time together alone together on her birthday a couple of weeks ago into one too. I swear, we are not doing this on purpose!" He nervously told the older man, getting a bit frantic.
"You're really nervous, Azura. Are you feeling all right?" Taiyang asked with "concern," a look in his eyes telling the young man to choose his words carefully.
"I-I am fine! I am not nervous! I have no reason to be!" The scar faced shōgun quickly and frantically told him, hoping he did not say something stupid.
"Well, that's good. For a second there, I thought you and Yang were up to something!" Tai said happily.
Azura sighed in relief, then bowed to Taiyang. "Well, see you around, Lord Xiao Long. Perhaps I will come over after training if that is okay with you." He replied, calming down a bit as he turned to leave before he felt a firm, strong hand patting him on the shoulder.
"I'm sure that, if these 'accidental dates' keep happening, you'll make sure Yang is treated right." Tai said casually, gripping Azura's shoulder a bit tightly.
Azura gulped, feeling the unspoken threat left hanging in the air. 'If you hurt her or do anything you shouldn't, you'll answer to me.' He turned to look at the older man nervously. "O-Of course, Lord Xiao Long. Y-You do not have to worry…' He replied, trying not to seem intimidated.
"That's good to hear." Tai said, releasing his grip on Azura's shoulder before turning and going into the house.
Taking a deep breath to calm himself down, Azura then headed off to his cabin. He had to get dressed for training and fill his water bottle with cold water. As he continued on his way home, he smiled as he began to relax. However, the silence was quickly broken by the sound of a familiar voice snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Hey, kid!" The gruff and low, but firm voice of Qrow called out.
Azura jumped a bit at that as he turned to look at the source to see the bird man in question leaning up against a tree. "Oh. Hello, Lord Branwen." He greeted the man.
"Just 'Qrow', kid. I'm not into the whole honorific, formal shit." He said while rolling his eyes and scoffing.
Azura gave him a slight deadpan look. "That would be rude, and I was raised to be anything but, sir." The blue samurai replied.
"Ain't it more respectful to call people what they want to be called?" Qrow asked, taking a swig from his ever-present flask.
"... You win this round, Qrow." Azura replied, admitting defeat.
Qrow simply nodded his head and spoke again, "So I heard about your little date with the Firecracker. How'd it go?"
Azura immediately blushed at that. "I-It was not a date. And it went well." The blue shōgun replied nervously.
"I ain't here for that, calm down." Qrow raised one of his hands placatingly.
Azura sighed in relief, happy to avoid being teased or threatened. "That is good…"
"I'm here to give you some advice: Watch out for Yang." Qrow offered sagely.
Azura rolled his eyes. "Let me guess: Or you will beat the tar out of me? I already heard that from Lord Xiao Long." He replied as he began to walk again.
Qrow shook his head, "Nah, you won't have to worry about us. Yang will get to you first." He offered with a small shudder.
Azura then stopped in his tracks in realization, his face turning as pale as a ghost. "Th… Thank you for the advice…" He nervously replied before waving as he headed off to his cabin.
The Clearing Near the Cabins; Seven AM
With his thoughts plum full of great fear, Azura scampered his way to meet Yang and Ruby. As soon as he arrived, the two girls gave him a big smile. However, the mood soon changed as Ruby started giggling.
"So, Yang, let me guess: You wanted to make this another date?" Ruby asked her sister teasingly, making the two blush.
Yang then picked her sister up and body slammed her. Ruby groaned and gave a thumbs up heaving, "Noted."
Azura was still blushing but then cleared his throat. "A-Anyway, are you girls ready to get started?" He asked them both nervously.
"Yup! Sure thing, Firestarter. I'm ready to kick your ass." Yang said, giving air punches.
Ruby then groaned again "Give… me ten minutes… ughh…"
Azura chuckled a bit. "All right, you both know the drill. We will start with stretches so that we do not pull anything." He replied, starting with some lower back stretches.
Several hours later, after they finished training, Yang and Ruby were left exhausted. Less exhausted than usual, but still. Azura, still full of energy, gave the two girls a smile.
"Not bad, you two. You two are getting better. Perhaps I have to step things up some more by upping the weights and the intensity of the training." He told them with a smile.
Yang gave him a daring look. "You could have warned us that it was that rough." She replied before she plopped her head on the ground.
Ruby then stretched her back and gave Azura a dirty look before saying, "The fact that we're not dead because of your insane training is a miracle among the gods."
Azura waved off the girls' complaints. "Nonsense! If my retainers could take this back when I was ten, you can take it now." He replied in a very blasé tone.
Ruby signed and then walked up to Azura pointing her finger at him with a dead ass stare. "I don't care, Mr. Perfect. Shut up and never bring that up. Ever. Again."
"Yeah, Azura. This is still new to us." Yang said, finally getting up and stretching her back.
Azura rolled his eyes but smiled. "Now you even sound like them. Honestly, I think you two would like the ones you never got to meet. You both remind me a lot of them." He told them.
"Remind you of who again?" Yang asked, very tired while taking a swig of water.
Azura's smile turned sad. "Some retainers of mine from when I was younger. They never failed to brighten up my day and bring a smile to my face. They loved this world more than anyone else ever could…" He explained the tone of his voice letting them know that they were approaching a sore subject.
The girls raised their eyebrows as they recognized what he said. He was talking about them in the past tense. Not only that, but he mentioned that they loved the world, but did not say "we" loved the world.
Yang cocked her head but shook her head, deciding not to think much of it. "So, what do you want to do after we relax? We could go on a more official date, or all three of us can go back by the lake and go for a swim?"
Azura blushed as Yang mentioned going on an official date together. However, his blush soon turned as red as a cherry at the mention of going swimming with the girls as he tried to not picture Yang in a bikini and failed miserably. Shaking his head to try to rid himself of the mental image, he gulped.
"L… Let us head by your place for some lunch with Qrow and Lord Xiao Long and go from there…" The blue shōgun suggested nervously.
"It's up to you, sure." Yang said, picking Ruby up.
Ruby then groaned "Thanks, sis. Now please quit drop kicking me in front of your boyfriend."
"Ruby, he is a boy friend, not my boyfriend. Get your head out of the gutter." Yang said, rolling her eyes, and with a hint of a blush.
"You said boyfriend twice, sis. Make up your damn mind." Ruby complained.
"The first is a boy who happens to be a friend, which is what Azura is. The other is a relationship that I haven't had with a boy in a while." Yang explained, though with a hint of annoyance.
Ruby gave her a look, then put her hands to her face cupping them close to her and leaning close to Yang with her left leg up in the air. "Then why was he blushing at the thought of you all wet in a bikini?" She asked in a whisper.
"And you say my head's in the gutter all the time. Clean out the filth from your head, little sis." Yang answered her sister.
Ruby stuck her tongue out and then felt a smack to the back of her head.
Later, at the Xiao Long-Rose Cabin
The girls and Azura finally arrived at the house. Upon their arrival, as soon as Yang unlocked the door, Azura placed his hand gently on hers. Looking at the azure samurai, Yang was a bit confused.
"Please, allow me." Azura replied, blushing ever so slightly with a gentlemanly smile as he opened the door for the girls and stepped aside to allow them to go in before him.
Yang gave another curtsy and then brushed past him after he opened the door. "Hey dad, hey Qrow." She said, greeting her father and uncle.
"Well Tai, they look pretty chipper." Qrow said, holding a small tankard.
"Positively peachy, wouldn't you say?" Tai answered with a knowing smirk, holding his own tankard as well.
Yang rolled her eyes at the two adults' antics. "Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. Nothing happened in front of Ruby, I promise." She reassured the two as Ruby walked in behind her.
"Hi, dad! Hi, Uncle Qrow!" Ruby pipped up chipperly, a smile on her face.
"Greetings, Lord Xiao Long, Qrow." Azura told them with a bow as he stepped in behind the girls.
"Seems like you three are all in one piece. That's good. Refreshments?" Tai asked, as he slowly got up.
Azura put his hand up. "Actually, Lord Xiao Long, I have an idea. Since it would be a shame to let it all go to waste, why don't I head back to my place and get the leftover food from the picnic Yang, and I had early this morning so that we can all eat that?" The aristocratic warrior offered.
"A man who knows how to cook? Tai, I think that this boy's gonna show you up if you're not careful." Qrow said teasingly.
"Qrow, who's the one who makes the dough around here?" Tai asked, a hint annoyed.
"Shutting up." Qrow said before sipping some of his drink.
"That's perfectly fine, Azura. That's very kind of you. Do you need any help?" Tai said graciously, before changing to a question.
"Although I appreciate the offer, it is not necessary. It is merely some sandwiches, tomato soup, fruit juices and cupcakes…" Azura replied politely.
"Cupcakes?" Ruby asked, her head perked up from her water bottle at the mere mention of baked confectionery.
"Homemade red velvet cupcakes with rainbow frosting." Azura elaborated.
"Yang, for the love of the gods, keep this one." Ruby said in awe.
Yang and Azura blushed a bit as Yang elbowed Ruby in the side. "We're not dating!" She told her little sister.
"Not yet." Ruby said cheekily before heading up to take a shower, leaving her big sister flustered with nowhere to go.
"Y-Yang told me they were her favorites and I wanted to get more practice with red velvet…" Azura weakly explained.
"Totally dating!" Ruby called from the top of the stairs.
"Shut up, Ruby!" Yang called up as she and Azura blushed more.
"Temper, temper, Yang." Tai said, wagging his finger as he sat back down.
"Lose your head if it wasn't screwed on." Qrow chipped in, in a more sing-song tone.
"Azura, break like the wind and go get the food before I go mad." Yang sighed at her family's antics, fully in the face of a guest mind.
Azura, still red in the face, coughed into his hand and cleared his throat. "R-Right. Please excuse me…" The azure samurai replied, politely rushing off to get the food.
Qrow gave a genuine smile as he turned to look at the older of his nieces. "He's a keeper, Firecracker." He told the blonde teen in a non-teasing tone.
"Why does everyone think we are dating? We just hung out twice. Nothing more, nothing less." Yang said as she dried herself with a towel.
"To be fair, he did mention that you two turned them into accidental dates. I'm just happy that he treats you well and makes you happy, even if you two aren't actually a thing right now." Taiyang told his eldest.
"I still don't even know how those happened! We aren't trying to go that fast! It's clear we both aren't ready, considering our pasts with the opposite gender, and yet we are! I don't get it!" Yang exclaimed, flustered.
"It's pretty clear you two seem to have a magnetic attraction to each other. Besides, if it feels natural, why fight against it?" Qrow replied, trying to be helpful.
"I just…" Yang started, but bit her lip, clearly nervous to say something.
"You don't wanna go too fast and risk this one blowing up in your face, do you?" Tai asked, finishing what Yang was about to say.
"Considering I've had that happen five times now… can you blame me?" Yang asked nervously.
"To be fair, your little tiger prince isn't like those punks. He's a proper gentleman who at least seems to genuinely like and care about you." Qrow pointed out.
"Truest thing you've said all day…" Yang said, before stopping as she felt a presence behind her.
Slowly turning, she soon saw a flustered, stock still Azura in the doorway. Noticeably however, he was practically steaming from body heat, a cobalt blue lightning-like aura coming off him that was slowly turning to azure blue and a light sweat coming down him like a network of creeks.
"How long were you standing there?" Yang asked, shock still plastered across her pace.
"Enough." Azura nervously and cryptically answered, a blush telling everyone the quiet part.
Yang took a deep breath to try to calm herself down, which turned out to be a mistake as that caused her to take in Azura's natural scent. Despite how much he was sweating, Yang noted something about it. The smell was not particularly unpleasant. In fact, for reasons she did not understand… the blonde found that she liked it.
"Ruby! Food's here!" Tai called out to break the awkward silence that had fallen upon his home.
"Coming!" Ruby yelled as she rushed down the stairs, so fast one would question how she did not trip, in a fresh set of clothes.
"What did I tell you about running in the house?" Tai asked.
"Only do it in emergencies." Ruby answered.
"That's my bad, I set the bar too low." Tai sighed.
"Alright then. Let's reheat that soup and have some lunch." Qrow said with a smile.
Swiftly Azura and Tai got to work. Yang tried to volunteer, but Tai invoked the household's too many cooks in the kitchen rule. A rule Yang helped make necessary. Her grumbling quickly subsided as, on big platters, the two men brought the whole picnic lunch. Getting everyone the proper tableware and spoons, everyone swiftly began to dig in. Yang quickly noticed Azura was eating slower than usual. Before she brought it up, she realized it was not because he was not hungry. He was happy.
"So how is everything? Is it all to your liking?" The blue shōgun asked with a hopeful smile.
"So good!" Ruby said, her mouth half stuffed with a sandwich.
"This is some really good tomato soup. Any chance you could give me the recipe?" Taiyang replied with a smile.
Azura gave a pleased smile at that. "I can give you all the recipes except for the red velvet cupcakes. Those are a family recipe from my mother's side of the family. She would kill me if I gave that one away."
"I would ask if it's literal, but after meeting your family… I, too, wouldn't chance it." Tai replied, sipping his drink.
"I'm not much of a fruit juice kind of guy, but these are really good. You make these too?" Qrow asked, sipping on one himself.
"Naturally." Azura answered, a hint of pride from his hard work leaking through.
Qrow gave a smile at that. "He really is a keeper, Yang." He told his blonde niece.
"Hey, Azura. You got a recipe for blackbird pie, by any chance?" Yang asked with a smirk.
"Actually yes. Another family recipe mother taught me." Azura replied with a smirk of his own.
"This just isn't my day, is it?" Qrow sighed into his drink.
"Try quitting while you're behind?" Tai asked.
"Bite me, papa dragon." Qrow grumbled.
"Are you sure you can't tell us the recipe for these cupcakes?" Ruby asked, hopefully.
"Ruby. My mother can wield a kitchen cleaver better than she can a sword. And she is exceptionally good with a sword." Azura cryptically responded to try to get the point across.
"Say no more. Guess we'll just have to ask you to bring these around more." Ruby replied with a teasing smile towards her big sister.
"Can I have a normal day?" Yang asked exasperatedly.
"With us? Since when?" Ruby asked cutely and chipperly.
Azura chuckled a bit. "Actually, I rather like this. It reminds me of spending time with my own family." The azure aristocrat admitted.
With that, things simmered down and soon the five ate through Azura's near bottomless picnic basket. Even Ruby was groaning from how full she was by the end of it. Tai and Yang slowly helped Azura clean up before he got up to leave for his cabin.
"As fun as this has been, I should be getting home. But, before I go, allow me to write down that tomato soup recipe for you, Lord Xiao Long." The blue shōgun said.
"Thank you, young man." Tai answered with a smile.
As Azura bent over and began to quickly jot it down, he felt his scroll buzzing in his pocket. Sighing slightly, he pulled it out to find it was his mother calling. He flipped it open and accepted the call, putting her on speaker as he continued to write down the recipe. However, he was caught off guard by what came through.
"Azura… Azura… He…" Verdant said, hysterically wheezing through the unmistakable sound of crying, barely able to make out the three words.
"Mother? Is something wrong?" Azura asked, his concern for her clear in his voice as he continued writing down the recipe.
"He… Hee…" Verdant said, slurring the words through the tears as her voice began bordering on wailing.
"Easy, mother. Take a deep breath. I can barely understand what you are saying." The azure aristocrat told her, trying to ease his mother so that she could tell him what she wanted to tell him as he finished writing down the recipe and picked up his scroll.
"YOUR FATHER IS DEAD!" Verdant roared through the speaker, whatever semblance of collected calm she may have had shattering.
The silence in the room after that was heard was deafening. So silent that you could practically hear a pin drop as the five people present in the room looked at Azura's scroll in sheer disbelief. Azolum, a man in the prime of his life, a titan of a man, had fallen. And the first echo of his passing was that of Azura's scroll hitting the floor, piercing the silence that befell them.
To Be Continued...
