Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 - Simple plan.

I kept staring at the system message for a few seconds before shifting my gaze to one of the dungeon paths that was getting increasingly noisy.

"Gulp!"

I swallowed nervously and waited in silence for a few seconds.

Slowly, I started to see them… Those shadows.

Countless shadows.

They were approaching at high speed, their footsteps heavier than I had expected. Even though they had no faces, I could tell those monsters were drooling with rage.

They're desperate to kill me.

The monsters closed in quickly, and I started running.

'If I face them head-on, I'll definitely die. Unfortunately, this sword doesn't have a long-range attack skill. I should've brought the sword with the "Lightning LV4" skill—I'm sure that would be enough to kill all these things.'

I was much faster than the monsters, so after running for a few minutes, I had already put a good distance between us.

I opened the map again and saw the monsters marked as red dots.

"They're not all together, and they're moving faster than I expected."

The red dots were spread out in two locations on the map—

To my right and to my left.

Each group had 25 monsters, and they were advancing toward me.

"It's like they have a map too and know exactly where I am."

I looked around, nervous, thinking about what I should do. Should I set a trap? But how? It's impossible to do that here.

The skill that allows me to create weapons with any material… Could it be helpful in this situation?

"If I could create a revolver or a grenade, that would help, but of course, that's not possible."

Just to be sure, I grabbed a piece of rock and tried to make a grenade, but once again, the system gave me only a dagger as an option.

I smiled bitterly and looked back at the map.

"They're getting closer."

I think the best thing I can do in this situation is to try and split the two groups into even smaller groups. If I face about five at a time, I think I can handle it…

Once again, I started running, moving toward the group on my right.

I ran through the dungeon paths while checking the map and reached the monsters in no time.

They saw me at the end of the corridor and, without making a single sound, rushed toward me at high speed, like puppets.

I gripped my sword tightly and shouted:

"Come at me!"

The monsters picked up speed.

They ran, swinging their arms, their dagger-like claws scraping against the ground, producing a strange sound that sent a shiver down my spine.

'I'm sure if someone had a nightmare like this… they'd wake up terrified and desperate.'

I turned and started running again, luring the monsters.

"Come on, follow me, you idiots!"

Of course, I kept my eyes on the map because the other group of monsters was still advancing toward me.

I slowed down a bit and headed toward the second group of monsters to meet them. When I spotted them in the corridor, I called out to them too.

"Come on, you idiots."

For some reason, saying that made them run even faster. I guess they understand me.

After luring the second group as well, I started running again.

I kept watching the map and took strategic paths to merge both groups into one.

I was sweating heavily, but finally, after more than ten minutes, I succeeded in making the two groups collide.

Since the dungeon paths weren't spacious enough to accommodate 50 large monsters, and they were all blinded by their bloodlust, they started trampling over each other, slowing the entire group down.

"Thanks for being idiots," I muttered and continued walking through the dungeon, searching for the perfect spot.

My plan had changed.

"I need to find the perfect room."

There were several rooms in the dungeon—some spacious, others less so.

Since the monsters' movement had slowed due to their own stupidity, I had more time to search.

After almost ten more minutes of searching, I found the perfect room.

It wasn't too spacious and had only two paths—

One was wider, and the other was narrower.

"The monsters are big, but not too big. I think two or three of them can pass through this narrow path at a time."

Let's go with this plan.

I stood in the middle of the room and waited for the monsters.

They were coming from the wider path.

"They only move forward. They only think about killing me. This is going to be easy," I said, grinning confidently.

I waited for a few minutes until I started hearing the sounds of their footsteps.

Besides their footsteps, the monsters were irritated and began making strange noises.

They're getting impatient since I've only been running away and not fighting.

"Thankfully, there's no time limit; otherwise, I'd be screwed."

I saw their shadows approaching, desperate to kill me, and I took a few steps back.

At first, slow steps. Then faster ones.

The monsters swarmed into the room like a horde of ants, trampling over each other.

A shiver ran down my spine, and I started sweating.

As I backed into the narrow path, the monsters continued advancing.

When they reached the entrance of the narrow path, they got stuck, unable to get through.

I opened the map to check if any monster was trying to go around and attack me from behind, but none of them were smart enough to do that.

"Alright, it's time for a massacre."

I looked at the entrance, now completely dark from the mass of monsters pushing against each other, and raised my sword.
