On the courtyard, I looked for a spot to build the odd structure we found on Kali's journal. I was hoping that was something useful to help us against whatever the Hero could bring to us. If I could, I would prefer not to have a taste of his power directly, if we could avoid it.
Violet was helping with the preparations. We were too little and it would be a waste of their lives to throw them at the wolf without having them gain levels before, so I was not surprised many of them were preparing to depart in case it was necessary.
"What did you find?" Violet asked when she saw me return with Dara. She pouted towards Dara, but did not say anything.
"We don't know" I admitted "But we are desperate enough"
"I disapprove of acting on luck" Dara said behind me.
I have my reservations about this too. If this thing does nothing, then we can only escape. Or worse if we trust it enough and it fails at the end.
