Eyrx didn't even argue.
Thalina perked up, narrowing her eyes. "You agree, don't you?"
"…No."
She gasped. "Liar!"
He sighed, rubbing his temple as if she was his problem to deal with. (Which she was, but still!)
Thalina sat up and crossed her arms. "This is inhumane. I refuse. I reject this reality. I demand you go outside and get me something else."
Eyrx's fingers twitched. "I hunted for this."
"Yes. And I'm very grateful," she said sweetly. Then, in the next breath, "But this is poison. So try again."
He stared. Unblinking.
Then, very slowly, very coldly—
"No."
Thalina gasped again, clutching her chest. "You heartless beast."
Eyrx did not care.
She pouted. "Then at least go get me more fruit. You saw how much I enjoyed those."
"Eat the meat."
"No."
"Then starve."
"I will," she threatened, chin high. "And when I wither away, my ghost will haunt you forever. I'll cry and wail and throw things in your cave. I'll knock over your—your stuff."
