Thalina tried to jerk her hand back, but his tail held firm. "I swear to everything above, if you try to steal this from me—"
"I don't need your pathetic scraps," he said smoothly. "I just don't like surprises."
"Well, get used to it," she shot back, yanking her arm free with a little more force than necessary. "Because I'm full of them."
His lips curled at that. Not quite a smirk, not quite a sneer. Something in between that made her stomach flip.
"Will you stop staring at me like that now?!" She asked annoyed.
Eyrx's eyes narrowed, and in a blur of motion, his hand shot out, gripping her wrist before she could pull away. "Use it," he commanded.
Thalina's heart pounded. "Uh... use it how?"
Eyrx tilted his head, his grip firm but not painful. "You were about to use it before I entered. Do it now."
Gah! This man was too sharp! How did his eyes catch that and his brain connect the dots so fast? She thought she had been discreet.
