Chapter 108 - Bankai, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru!
In the original Bleach storyline, Komamura's performance was less than stellar, and his track record wasn't great.
But his strength was by no means weak—otherwise, he wouldn't have become a captain of the Gotei 13.
Komamura's Tengen is a direct attack-type Zanpakuto with immense destructive power.
His Bankai takes that power to its extreme.
At this moment, a towering black-armored warrior, as tall as a skyscraper, appeared behind Komamura, exuding an overwhelming sense of dread, as if evoking a fear of giants.
This was Komamura's Bankai: Kokujo Tengen Myo'o.
As soon as it appeared, the massive figure swung its sword—large enough to be the size of a house—directly at Ichigo.
The air was sliced apart, creating a terrifying storm that roared toward them even before the blade itself arrived.
Seeing this, Gilgamesh prepared to intervene, but Ichigo acted first, using Shunpo to leap forward, slashing with his sword to block Kokujo Tengen Myo'o's attack.
However, the power of Kokujo Tengen Myo'o was immense, and Ichigo, gritting his teeth, was being pushed back.
"Getsuga Tenshō!"
With a cold, black-and-red Getsuga blast, Ichigo managed to deflect the attack from Kokujo Tengen Myo'o.
Without hesitation, Ichigo charged directly toward Komamura, shouting, "Lord Gilgamesh, leave him to me!"
Through the light of his Omniscient Star, Gilgamesh understood Ichigo's thoughts—he wanted to handle the fight himself, fearing that Gilgamesh would simply take control of Kokujo Tengen Myo'o.
Gilgamesh didn't object to Ichigo's good intentions.
Whether Komamura stayed in the fight or not wouldn't affect Gilgamesh in any way.
Besides, Gilgamesh wasn't interested in Komamura right now.
The real focus was on Yamamoto and the other captains, who had just arrived.
Yamamoto, Soi Fon, Kyōraku, Ukitake, and Unohana…
Gilgamesh's eyes swept over their faces, calm and unflinching, showing no sign of fear or panic.
The captains, in turn, were studying Gilgamesh.
It was undeniable that at first glance, they were struck by his regal aura and his extraordinary looks.
But following that initial reaction came confusion.
They noticed that Gilgamesh was wearing the uniform of the Shin'ō Academy.
Soi Fon stepped forward and asked sharply, "Are you a student of the Shin'ō Academy? Why are you here?"
As she spoke, her eyes shifted toward Ichigo, who was battling Komamura nearby. Frowning, she continued questioning, "What is your relationship with that intruder?"
Before Gilgamesh could respond, Yoruichi of the Past, who was nestled in his arms, spoke up. "I see the future Soi Fon is still as rash as ever."
"But she's offended the king and must be punished."
"King, allow me to handle her."
Gilgamesh gave a slight nod. "Very well."
Upon receiving permission, a cloud of smoke erupted from Yoruichi's body.
The captains were initially startled by the sight of a talking black cat, but before they could react, Yoruichi emerged from the smoke in her human form.
When Soi Fon saw her, her pupils shrank in shock. Her voice trembled with a mixture of excitement and resentment as she cried, "Yoruichi, you traitor! You've finally shown yourself!"
Yoruichi gave no response, immediately using Shunpo to appear in front of Soi Fon. In the blink of an eye, she grabbed Soi Fon by the collar and whisked her away, leaving the others stunned.
Yoruichi's presence and the way she addressed Gilgamesh as 'king' left no doubt that Gilgamesh's identity was far from ordinary.
Without further communication, Kyōraku, Ukitake, and Unohana silently moved to block off any escape routes, surrounding Gilgamesh.
Byakuya and Hitsugaya had also rejoined Yamamoto by this time.
Byakuya stepped forward and warned, "Captain-Commander, you must be cautious. He has the power to seal our Bankai!"
At these words, everyone's expressions changed dramatically, filled with disbelief and shock.
Seal Bankai? Could that really be possible?
The injured Hitsugaya also spoke up. "I had already activated my Bankai, but with just a single word from him, it was canceled, and I couldn't activate it again."
"I asked Hyōrinmaru why, and it responded with only four words: 'The king's command is absolute.'"
If there had been any doubt in their minds before, Hitsugaya's testimony made it clear that Gilgamesh could indeed seal their Bankai.
But what did "The king's command is absolute" mean? And was it related to how Yoruichi addressed him as 'king'?
Kyōraku and Ukitake exchanged a confused glance, both trying to make sense of the situation.
Yamamoto, though equally shaken, didn't show it. Silently, he removed his captain's haori and drew his Zanpakuto, Ryūjin Jakka, from his wooden staff. "If we can't use our Bankai, we'll take him down with our Shikai."
Yamamoto's voice, though old, carried a weight that steadied everyone's resolve.
But Gilgamesh then spoke. "I'm afraid you've overlooked something. If I can seal your Bankai, why wouldn't I be able to seal your Shikai as well?"
At those words, the captains—who had just been bolstered by Yamamoto's command—were once again thrown into shock.
A Shinigami's strength largely depends on their Zanpakuto. If both their Shikai and Bankai were sealed, they'd lose the majority of their power.
Before they could even process what was happening, Gilgamesh raised Kennō and declared with authority, "All Zanpakuto present, except for Ryūjin Jakka, are forbidden from using Shikai or Bankai without my permission!"
Upon hearing this, Kyōraku was the first to test it. He recited his release command, "Blossom and scatter, Katen Kyōkotsu!"
A gentle breeze passed, but nothing happened.
Kyōraku's face fell—his Shikai had truly been sealed.
The other captains' expressions darkened as well, realizing that Gilgamesh had indeed sealed their Shikai.
Only Yamamoto's eyes remained steady as he asked, "Why leave out Ryūjin Jakka? Could it be because you can't seal it?"
Gilgamesh shook his head with a light smile. "No. I simply want to see which is stronger: the most powerful ice-type Zanpakuto or the strongest fire-type Zanpakuto in the Soul Society."
With that, Gilgamesh raised Kennō and recited, "Bankai, Kennō Ōken Tenka!"
As Kennō transformed into a golden staff, Gilgamesh continued, "Bankai, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru!"
