Aurora James - POV
I did not turn around when I felt his hand on my shoulder as he gently turned me around to face him. "I can feel your disappointment. Did I do something wrong?" he asked me when I shook my head.
"No, you can go to sleep, Zander," I told him when he shook his head.
"Are you upset because I kept your bag in the other room?" he asked me, and I knew there was no point in lying, so I nodded my head.
"But I understand if you need some space." I quickly said when he shook his head.
"No, I thought maybe you might need some space after what happened. This relationship thing is new to me, Aurora. I don't want to go wrong again." he said, and I saw the uncertainty and fear in his eyes. I don't know what exactly went wrong with his first mate, but whatever happened has made him start to second-guess his actions towards me.
