"What did my dad say?" Andreas asked his son, now dressed in a red overall with his prison number yet to be inscribed on his chest. Four iron bars and a glass separated him and his beloved son, with his face pressed on the glass.
"Why am I still here?"
Jaime rubbed his palms together, he couldn't get to tell his father himself that he had been abandoned. It was still a shock to him, but it was inevitable, and all because of the girl, Milena Dennis.
"Dad... um, first how are you doing? The doctor said mum is responding slow to treatment and it might take a while." Jaime changed the topic of conversation, his eyes looking everywhere but his father's face.
Andreas nodded with a hum, he already predicted that his wife's recovery would take time, but he was glad she could be cured. "Don't look so gloom, your mother is strong. She will be out of there in no time. Okay?" He pressed his fingers on the glass, his tone reassuring.
