"This brat…!"
When Blake's tone shifted, decisively settling the matter and even using Doni's influence to pressure them, the faction leaders' expressions darkened with anger. Their patience was wearing thin, and flames of fury were beginning to rise.
A God Slayer commanding them was one thing. But a mere youth not even twenty years old who dared to disregard them? That was intolerable. And this, after they had swallowed their pride to address him with honorifics!
"Haha, young people nowadays are truly ignorant. Do you really think slaying a Heretic God is so simple? Even a Holy Knight has only ever defeated divine beasts."
"Exactly. We're saying this for your own good, yet you refuse to listen. What a lack of upbringing."
"Risking your life recklessly… I really wonder how you even qualify to be Lord Salvatore's close friend."
Angry and insulted, the faction leaders finally abandoned their pretense of politeness, hurling scorn and mockery. Some even tried to sow discord between Blake and Doni, aiming to isolate him.
In their eyes, without Doni's protection, Blake was just an arrogant, self-absorbed boy they could easily handle.
Doni remained silent, watching with growing interest. Diana, on the other hand, was visibly amused, her expression filled with schadenfreude.
Perhaps these old rivals believed only a God Slayer could subdue them. But what they didn't realize was that the person they faced now was far more terrifying than any God Slayer.
Meanwhile, Lily clenched her fists tightly, her face tense with anger. Seeing so many people mock Blake filled her with frustration.
As for Paolo, he remained silent after his initial plea to Doni. Instead, he fixed his deep gaze on Diana, his old rival. He understood her too well, and her current expression convinced him this situation wasn't as simple as it seemed.
Lastly, Erica watched Blake with a look of schadenfreude. To her, this guy was far too arrogant for his own good.
"The sound of frogs croaking was truly unpleasant. I didn't come here with Doni to seek your opinions. If you don't want to do it, you can leave anytime."
Blake's crystal blue pupils gleamed with a chilling light. The aura within him erupted like a volcano, sweeping through the room. The previously noisy space instantly fell silent, plunging into an eerie stillness.
The leaders of the various factions resembled ducks with their necks grabbed—silent, their faces pale, and cold sweat pouring down their foreheads.
This was all because the aura emanating from Blake was even more overwhelming than that of Doni, the Campione!
Everyone present, at least at the level of Grand Knight, could feel it acutely. They couldn't believe what kind of power was contained within Blake's seemingly frail body.
Now, not only were they unable to continue mocking Blake, but they also didn't even have the courage to meet his crystal blue eyes directly, as it brought terrifying scenes of hell into their minds.
Ironically, it was the younger and less powerful individuals like Liliana and Erica who were unaffected, only sensing an inexplicable heaviness and suffocating silence in the atmosphere.
"Well, let's leave it at that."
After scanning the room, Blake calmly retracted his aura. For people who had held high positions for years, a little lesson was necessary to open their eyes.
Hearing this, the faction leaders snapped out of their daze, their faces filled with fear. No one dared to act arrogantly anymore, and instead, they stared at Blake with reverent gazes.
Although there had been no actual combat, they all had a premonition—if a fight broke out, they would be killed in an instant. This thought carved itself deeply into their minds.
"W-we understand."
The person who had been the most vocal earlier now became the most compliant, quickly stepping forward to show his stance, afraid that Blake would single him out for trouble.
After one person spoke up, the others followed suit without hesitation.
"Well, since no one objects, it's settled then. I'm not asking you to recklessly force a Heretic God to appear without considering the consequences. Finding one with signs of descent or posing a descent-related threat is sufficient. Consider it as eliminating a danger in advance. However, it must be a main deity-level Heretic God."
Seeing that the group had finally relented, Blake said indifferently. Though he had intimidated them earlier, there was a high chance they would still drag their feet and waste his time later. This approach was much more efficient.
"We understand. We'll handle it properly!"
Hearing this, the faction leaders snapped out of their shock, their faces showing relief as they quickly nodded. This was indeed the best solution—they wouldn't have to offend Blake, this mysterious figure, or the Sword King.
They silently vowed to handle this task seriously. If it was discovered that they were just going through the motions, they couldn't imagine what the consequences would be.
"Honestly, we've lived all these years for nothing."
Noticing everyone's change in expression, Paolo smiled bitterly and shook his head.
Just moments ago, this group had been trying to use a combination of threats and incentives to make Blake yield. But now, they were the ones hit over the head and then handed a carrot, making them too scared to resist and eager to do their best.
Diana thought the same, her heart filled with admiration for Blake. Although she had heard stories about him from Liliana, seeing it firsthand was entirely different. The aura Blake had unleashed earlier had truly startled her, solidifying her belief in his achievements and strength.
At the same time, she was impressed by Blake's calm demeanor and way of handling matters.
After all, most young people would have flown into a rage after being subjected to the kind of extreme ridicule this group had dished out. But Blake's expression had remained placid throughout, as though he wasn't affected in the slightest.
If Blake knew about Diana's assessment, he would likely respond with a faint smile. He had merely ignored this group. For the cries of the weak, he wouldn't waste words responding—it was much easier to crush them with power.
Liliana and Erica, however, were stunned by the entire scene, unable to process what had just unfolded.
From their perspective, Blake had silenced this group of high-ranking individuals with just a single sentence, forcing them to obediently surrender.
"Let's go, Liliana."
After everything was settled, Blake stood up, gently patted Liliana's head, and headed outside on his own.
Liliana quickly followed.
"My dear friend, wait for me!"
Doni also hurriedly got up and ran after them, shamelessly displaying a look of affection.
In response, Blake didn't hesitate to deliver a steel fist to Doni's stomach, eliciting a yelp of pain.
This scene left the remaining group of people completely dumbfounded, their minds going blank.
