After waking up, Neuman stepped out of the tent he was resting in. He then looked up at the sky and noticed that it was already afternoon before looking around.
Noticing the soldiers heading towards the area where food was being served, he wasted no time and also walked towards the place. Grabbing a plate, he got in the line and waited for the food to be served.
After he got the food on his plate, he sat down on an empty seat and started to eat the food slowly while listening to other people.
"I think I will rest today, since we have to attack the lair of the sewer rats tomorrow, so I won't go to the training ground today."
"You are not the only one who is thinking the same thing. I think there won't be many, as they need rest for tomorrow's raid."
Most of the soldiers were talking about the raid on the rat's lair tomorrow and were talking about the strategies and team they will be in, how they will attack and so on.
Neuman didn't have much interest in the talk so he finished the food and went back to his tent. There he took his spear and dagger and walked out of the camp.
As he walked out of the camp, he saw many soldiers roaming around the broken city, some trying to find something. He thought that they must be searching for something valuable in the ruins, and their thinking wasn't wrong; who knows, they might really find some silver or even gold coins if they searched thoroughly.
Walking for some time, he noticed some rats nibbling on corpses blindly. Seeing this, Neuman readied himself and started to kill those rats who can't even see properly in light.

There was now another notification after he killed the rat; it was the result of his selecting this option yesterday. He didn't know where these soul points might be used, but he ignored it for now and started to kill all the monsters outside.
Today he had decided to enter the underground channel and kill more rats to level up. There was a forest outside the city ruins but he let go of that idea since it was much more dangerous than the underground channel, which only had rats, while the other had various kinds.
As his level increased, he found it easy to kill the rats, as with a single swing of his spear, he could kill many rats.
But after he entered one of the underground channels, he became much more vigilant, because just as he entered through one of the passages, he saw something that he never thought would have existed.
He saw a rat that was the same length as an adult human running around tearing apart some unrecognizable things. He couldn't even see the rat properly if it wasn't for the disgusting crunching sound and the shiny red eyes, which turned towards him as soon as he entered.
The moment the rat saw Neuman entering, it left the thing it was munching on and ran towards Neuman.

Before the rat could get close to Neuman, he had already thrown the spear towards the rat with precision, killing the rat before it could even squeak.
Since entering the passage, Neuman had been highly alert. The moment he spotted the rat rushing towards him, he immediately reacted and pinned it to the ground.
After taking down the rat, he quickly scanned his surroundings and confirmed that no other rats were nearby. He then cautiously stepped forward and retrieved his spear.
The rats here looked big and powerful compared to the ones outside; even then they were taken down in a single strike. A thrust to the head was all it took.
Neuman then just looked around a second time and noticed that there were still some small rats eating some broken things. He decided to turn his attention away from them since they were still running here and there.
He pulled out a piece of bread from the pocket on his leg and threw it towards the entrance of the passage. Since he couldn't go deeper inside of the passage without having a proper light source, it will be risky. Instead, it was easier to lure the rats out and hunt them at the entrance, where he could see properly.
He then positioned himself in a safe spot from where the rats couldn't notice him and he could strike at any moment.
It didn't take long before he saw some of the rats running towards the piece of bread, but before they could reach it, they were cleaved into two pieces. Neuman struck as fast as he could and with that he killed three rats in a single strike.
And before the other rats could register what was happening, they too were killed easily by Neuman.

After hours of baiting the rats and killing them, Neuman was now bored of waiting for the rats to come out. The only thing keeping him consistent was the XP he was gaining and his increasing stats. Now, even instead of a full loaf of bread, there were nothing but pieces. Some of the rats ate some pieces of the bread and slowly it was gone and all that's left are some crumbs.
After that he left the passage and came out of the cave. He then looked at the sky and saw that it was about to reach dusk so he slowly ran back to the camp. This time his speed was much faster than before and he got back to the camp in just two minutes.
There was no one who knew him and asked him where he went he was just a stranger in everyone's eyes. He just went back to the tent where he was previously resting and sat down.

Taking a look at his stats Neuman just smiled and thought of the previous day, his stats had increased greatly. Then he looked at the new things he had unlocked just yesterday and he opened the first one.
