Duke Reynald walked at a leisurely pace, allowing himself to be dragged along by his apparently still-irritated younger sister. Schnee held his wrist firmly, her lips slightly pursed—an expression she only wore when genuinely annoyed.
"Schnee, you'll damage my reputation as a Duke dragging me like this in front of everyone," he said jokingly, though he made no serious attempt to free himself.
Schnee stopped in a quieter corner of the room, glaring at her brother with her arms crossed. "You're incredibly oblivious, Brother," she hissed. "You just abandoned me to a man I don't even know, simply because you wanted to chat with Lucian Hale?"
Duke Reynald shrugged, completely unconcerned. "Nothing wrong with that, is there?" he said lightly, his gaze calm, as if he didn't understand his sister's frustration.
Reynald snorted, closing his eyes and crossing his arms. "I did it because I trust you, my dear sister."
