Before Jiraiya's arrival, the shinobi of the Land of Wind were still able to resist the onslaught of the Land of Fire. However, the moment Jiraiya entered the battlefield, chaos broke out among the Wind shinobi. Their previously stable formation was completely disrupted, allowing the Fire shinobi to overwhelm them in an instant.
In terms of elite jōnin, both sides were relatively even. When the Three Kage arrived to support the Land of Wind, they brought several elite shinobi as their guards.
"Take down those elite jōnin from the Land of Water! Their abilities counter ours too much!" Uchiha Fugaku called out to the Hyūga clan leader.
The Uchiha were masters of Fire Release, while the shinobi from the Land of Water excelled in Water Release, making it an unfavorable matchup. Furthermore, the Hidden Mist's techniques, such as the Hiding in Mist Jutsu and Silent Killing, had certain countermeasures against the Sharingan.
With the Mist shinobi concealed within the thick fog, the Uchiha found it difficult to track them with their Sharingan, preventing them from casting genjutsu effectively. As a result, the Uchiha's combat effectiveness was significantly diminished.
However, the Hyūga clan's Byakugan was not hindered by the mist.
"Leave them to us!" a Hyūga jōnin declared before leading his comrades straight toward the elite jōnin of the Land of Water.
Unlike the Uchiha, the mist had no effect on the Hyūga. Their Byakugan allowed them to see through the fog effortlessly.
"Damn those eyes!" a Hidden Mist shinobi cursed in frustration.
"Those eyes are fascinating... I want them for myself." A young shinobi in blue attire gazed at the Byakugan with unconcealed greed.
"Then let's carve them out!" Fuguki Suikazan grinned cruelly, brandishing his massive blade, Samehada.
The Third Mizukage had brought three members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist—Fuguki Suikazan, the wielder of Samehada; Raiga Kurosuki, the wielder of the Lightning Blades; and Jūzō, the wielder of the Executioner's Blade.
Their combined might was formidable, and the Hyūga shinobi quickly found themselves locked in a grueling battle.
"I despise taijutsu users the most... Get crushed into pulp!" Fuguki roared as he swung Samehada down on Hyūga Tetsuki.
Samehada, originally a small shark that followed the Three-Tails, had evolved by consuming its chakra. This granted it the ability to devour chakra and even transfer the stolen energy to its wielder, making it a fearsome weapon.
However, Samehada was ineffective against pure taijutsu. In the original story, its second wielder, Hoshigaki Kisame, lost to Might Guy due to misjudging his attacks.
Against a taijutsu specialist like the Hyūga, Fuguki Suikazan found himself at a disadvantage. Though Tetsuki managed to hold his ground with defensive techniques, he was purely on the defensive, unable to counterattack.
Fortunately, the Hyūga had sent their strongest warriors into battle, and reinforcements soon arrived, pressing Fuguki Suikazan into a corner.
Overall, the Land of Fire's forces maintained the upper hand, suppressing both the Wind shinobi and the elite warriors from the other nations.
...
"Your turn, Matatabi." Jiraiya turned his gaze toward the Two-Tails, which was engaged in battle with Hiruzen Sarutobi.
The massive Five-Tails had already been severely weakened, its chakra nearly drained by the black rods embedded in its body. Its form had become semi-transparent, on the verge of vanishing.
The Two-Tails, however, was different. Agile and skilled in Fire Release, it darted around Sarutobi, launching fireballs at him while circling rapidly.
Sarutobi wielded his Adamantine Staff, effortlessly shattering the incoming fireballs before they could get close.
Witnessing how quickly Jiraiya had taken down the Five-Tails, the Two-Tails' eyes filled with fear. Without hesitation, it turned and fled, transforming into a blur as it raced away at incredible speed.
"Trying to run? Not happening." Jiraiya sneered, gripping a black rod tightly. With a burst of power, he vanished from sight, reappearing in mid-air above the fleeing beast. A Rasengan had already formed in his palm.
He drove the Rasengan into the Two-Tails' spine, sending the beast crashing to the ground with a thunderous impact.
"Adamantine Sealing Chains!" Golden chains erupted from Jiraiya's body, binding the downed Two-Tails. Without wasting a second, he plunged the black rod into the beast's skull.
Sealing tailed beasts had become effortless for him.
Within moments, the Two-Tails' chakra was absorbed.
The black rod was a reward from the system, possessing an exceptional capacity—it could store the chakra of both the Five-Tails and the Two-Tails simultaneously.
Gripping the black rod tightly, Jiraiya continued absorbing the Five-Tails' chakra. Once he finished, even if Uchiha Madara was observing from the shadows, Jiraiya was confident that he could defeat him.
With the Five-Tails and Two-Tails dealt with, Jiraiya leaped into the air once more, heading for another battlefield.
Upon arrival, he immediately set his sights on the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
With a single slash of his Lightning Flame Blade, a blinding arc of light erupted, engulfing three swordsmen at once. Their bodies were instantly torn apart, reduced to nothing but scattered remains.
For Jiraiya, killing elite jōnin had become as effortless as cutting vegetables.
The Hyūga jōnin, who had been struggling just moments ago, stood frozen in shock.
What had seemed like an insurmountable threat had been effortlessly erased with a single swing of Jiraiya's blade.
A deep, bottomless trench now marred the battlefield, a testament to the sheer force of his attack.
Jiraiya's presence alone sent a wave of fear crashing over the Land of Wind's forces. Some shinobi could no longer suppress their terror—they turned and ran without hesitation.
The Five-Tails and Two-Tails had been subdued. Three elite jōnin had been obliterated with a single stroke. And, most terrifying of all, their reinforcements—the Three Kage—had yet to arrive.
They had no hope left.
"Drop your weapons and surrender. Accept sealing, and you might still live."
"Resistance is futile. You cannot defeat the forces I command. You place your hopes in the Tsuchikage, the Mizukage, and the Raikage, believing they will save you. But let me spare you the suspense—you're already too late. They are dead. I have killed them. There is no hope of victory."
Jiraiya hovered above the battlefield, five different chakra natures swirling behind him, forming a rotating halo of pure energy.
At that moment, he seemed less like a man and more like a god.
His voice fell, and the battlefield fell into silence.
The shinobi of the Land of Wind collapsed to their knees, their will to fight utterly broken.
"Impossible! There's no way you could've killed the Mizukage, the Tsuchikage, and the Raikage in such a short time! You're lying!" Rasa shouted in desperation.
