{Chapter: 207 Who will believe it?!}

For more than thirty years, Mei Yuxian had guarded her heart.

She had waited—not just for companionship, not for fleeting affection—but for someone who could truly stir her soul, someone who could awaken the passion buried deep within her. After so long, she had finally met that person.

That night, the line she had never crossed was finally broken.

It was painful at first—her body unused to such intimacy, especially after so many years of restraint—but Lin Yuan was gentle, patient, and attentive. Though the first time was short-lived, what followed was far from brief.

Mei Yuxian found herself enduring and giving again and again.

Seven... eight times.

Each time, longer and more intense than the last.

Their bodies tangled through the night, passion ebbing and flowing like waves crashing against the shore. Neither of them could stop once the floodgates had opened. The connection was too deep, the hunger too overwhelming.

By the time the first light of dawn streamed through the window, they were wrapped in each other's arms, utterly spent. Their limbs intertwined beneath the soft sheets, and they finally drifted off into sleep—two souls at peace, if only for a moment.

But when morning arrived, their passion hadn't faded. On the contrary, it was reignited the moment they opened their eyes.

Even before their minds had fully awakened, their bodies yearned once again. Rationality hadn't yet returned, and temptation tugged at them as strongly as it had the night before.

Just as they were about to surrender to another round, an unexpected noise interrupted the moment.

There was a soft creak—barely audible but impossible to ignore.

A sound from the doorway.

The door, which they had forgotten to lock in their haste the previous night, had opened slightly. Through the small slit, a graceful figure quietly slipped into the room like a cat on silent paws.

The moment the sound reached their ears, Mei Yuxian reacted instinctively. Panic surged through her as she ducked her head beneath the covers, heart racing wildly.

Lin Yuan, while maintaining a calm facade, tensed slightly. He closed his eyes to feign sleep, but beneath his long lashes, he peeked toward the door.

They both already knew who it was.

In the Mei family mansion, aside from the occasional servant who only entered under instruction, only two people lived there: Mei Yuxian and her daughter, Gui Qingtong.

And there was no question who had come in.

It was Gui Qingtong.

The young woman moved quietly, gently pushing the door shut behind her so as not to make any noise. Her light steps brought her across the room as she approached the bed with innocent curiosity.

Mei Yuxian, hidden beneath the sheets, was frozen in panic.

Her mind raced.

What have I done?!

The intensity and thrill of the previous night had been overwhelming, but now, in the harsh light of morning, her heart was filled with guilt and confusion.

He's younger than me

And she—my daughter—likes him. She even told me she wants to marry him someday!

She could still feel a dull soreness in her body—a lingering memory of everything they had done the night before. That ache only heightened her embarrassment.

Under the blanket, only Lin Yuan's head remained exposed. Mei Yuxian curled tightly beside him, afraid to even breathe.

What would happen if Gui Qingtong reached the bed and pulled the quilt aside?

How would she explain it?

I got drunk and entered the wrong room? Impossible.

I vomited and Lin Yuan took care of me? Still too far-fetched.

No excuse could justify the scene under this blanket.

For the first time in over a decade, Mei Yuxian felt truly flustered—nervous like a young girl caught sneaking out at night.

Lin Yuan, for his part, remained composed on the outside. His eyes were closed, his breathing slow and steady, but inwardly, he was watching everything.

He saw Gui Qingtong's delicate fingers reach for the edge of the quilt.

She paused.

And then—surprisingly—she let go.

Instead of lifting it, she frowned, waving a hand in the air.

"Ugh
What's that smell? Why is it so stuffy in here? There's this strange scent
kinda stinky," she muttered with a slight grimace, rubbing her nose.

Lin Yuan couldn't help but feel a flicker of amusement despite the tension.

Gui Qingtong had woken up unusually early that morning.

As soon as she opened her eyes, her thoughts had gone straight to Lin Yuan.

She had wanted to spend more time with him the day before—wanted to be near him, talk to him, make more memories. But instead, her mother had uncharacteristically cut the evening short and sent her away early.

So, with a hint of defiance, she had tiptoed to his room just after dawn, hoping to surprise him.

But at the door, she had learned he was still sleeping. Curious and perhaps a little hopeful, she had pushed open the door and slipped inside.

She hadn't expected the strange atmosphere in the room—or the odd scent lingering in the air.

As she stood by the bed, oblivious to the storm of emotions hidden under the quilt, Gui Qingtong sniffed again, wrinkled her nose once more, and muttered, "Maybe he forgot to open the windows
"

As Gui Qingtong stepped further into the room, her delicate nose wrinkled slightly.

A strange smell lingered in the air—thick and musky. The closer she moved toward the bed, the stronger it became. It wasn't entirely unpleasant, but it was
unfamiliar. Odd. It didn't smell like Lin Yuan's usual cologne or the soft floral scent her mother preferred. Instead, it was heavy, warm, and vaguely intoxicating.

Gui Qingtong tilted her head, puzzled. "Did Mom forget to have someone clean Brother Lin Yuan's room properly? This smell
why does it feel so strange and
 heavy?"

She fanned the air in front of her nose and pouted playfully, brushing aside her confusion. "Oh well! No matter what, I still want to wake up Brother Lin Yuan! Hehe!"

She giggled softly, her eyes shining with anticipation as she gazed at Lin Yuan's peaceful, sleeping face. He looked so serene, his breathing even, his hair slightly tousled against the pillow. To Gui Qingtong, it was a moment straight out of the kind of romantic anime she secretly adored.

In fact, she had thought about this the night before.

If she got the chance to see him asleep, she'd wake him up in a playful way—just like the cheerful little sister characters did in those cute shows. She'd climb onto his bed, gently call his name, maybe poke his cheeks a little, or lightly tug on his arm until he opened his eyes with a smile.

With a mischievous glint in her eye, she reached for the edge of the thick, fluffy quilt that draped over the large bed.

Unaware of the hidden danger lying beneath.

Because the bed was so massive—and the quilt so thick—it was easy to miss that someone else was sharing it with him. From her angle, Lin Yuan seemed to be the only one resting there. He was lying on his side, facing her direction, the other half of the bed obscured by the folds of the blanket.

As she gently lifted a small portion of the quilt near Lin Yuan, preparing to slip in and start her little prank, something caught her eye.

Her breath caught in her throat.

For the briefest second, she saw a glimpse of something—someone—on the other side of Lin Yuan. A feminine shape
 long golden blond hair
smooth shoulders peeking out from the quilt.

Gui Qingtong blinked in disbelief.

Her mind took a second to catch up.

Wait
 Was that—? No
 it can't be!

Startled, she tugged at the quilt again, but Mei Yuxian, still hidden and tense beneath the covers, had shifted slightly. This time, Gui Qingtong saw nothing—just Lin Yuan facing her, his bare shoulders visible above the quilt.

That in itself was no small shock.

Lin Yuan wasn't wearing anything on top. His chest was bare, and from the way the blanket clung to his shape, she could tell he wasn't wearing much—if anything—underneath.

Gui Qingtong froze. Her breath hitched in her throat.

Even though she adored Lin Yuan—perhaps more than she dared admit aloud—this was the first time she had ever seen a man's body up close. And not just any man. It was him.

And they were barely inches apart.

Her face flushed scarlet.

Her entire body felt hot, like someone had poured warm tea down her back and up her spine. The heat coming off Lin Yuan's body reached her in waves, making her heart pound uncontrollably.

In the next moment, as if sensing her presence, Lin Yuan's eyes fluttered open.

He blinked once, calmly, meeting her wide-eyed, stunned gaze with an unreadable expression.

"Qingtong?" he asked in a low, slightly husky voice, as if he had just awakened.

"Ah!"

Gui Qingtong nearly jumped in place. Her spine stiffened and her shoulders jerked back like she'd been caught committing a crime.

"I—I was going to wake you up, Brother Lin Yuan
 I just came to
 um
" she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper as she quickly turned away, letting the quilt fall from her hands. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment. She wanted to melt into the floor and disappear.

Lin Yuan, ever composed, offered a gentle smile as he sat up in bed. Without revealing too much, he wrapped the blanket around his lower body, shielding himself casually but efficiently.

"I see," he said with a calm nod. "Well, I'm awake now."

He noticed how Gui Qingtong's ears had turned a bright shade of red, and he couldn't help but find her reaction a little endearing. Her innocence was written all over her face.

Gui Qingtong glanced nervously back at him, speaking quickly, "Then
then I'll go ask Mom to come down for breakfast! Yes! We should all eat soon!"

She backed away toward the door, her words rushed and flustered.

But even as she tried to escape, she couldn't shake the image of Lin Yuan's bare chest—or the warmth that had bloomed across her body. She was too distracted to even process the odd smell in the room anymore.

And yet, her senses were still tingling.

That strange, heady scent
 it clung to the air.

It wasn't the scent of unwashed clothes, as she had thought.

It was something far more primal.

She didn't know exactly what it was, but for some reason, it made her feel uncomfortable in a way she couldn't explain. Her heart was fluttering, her thoughts jumbled. She felt both hot and cold at the same time.
