Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Admiration

"Chu Feng!"

Xie Bing's eyes blazed with fury, her face darkening like iron.

"Your grades are already terrible, and while I'm explaining the wrong answers here, you have the nerve to sleep in class?"

Because Chu Feng was merely a residual soul reincarnated, he suffered from certain aftereffects. One of them was frequent drowsiness, a manifestation of his Divine Soul restoring and healing itself.

His sweet dream was interrupted, and he woke up to see Teacher Xie glaring at him with a face full of rage.

Quickly standing up, he looked confused as he said, "Teacher, what question did you ask me?"

Ha ha!

The entire class couldn't hold back their laughter. This guy was insane; not only did he sleep during class, but he even had the audacity to ask the teacher what question she had asked.

A genius!

"I asked you, during the refining of the Meridian Expansion Pill… why did the cauldron explode?" Xie Bing practically ground her teeth as she repeated the question.

Everyone wore expressions of schadenfreude, eager to watch Chu Feng make a fool of himself.

"This question is simple, refining the Meridian Expansion Pill requires Iron Armor Rhinoceros Horn as the main ingredient. However, it's poisonous and must be neutralized using Black Saltpetre Powder. Mixing Black Saltpetre with white phosphorus—if you heat them and they don't explode, well, then ghosts might be involved."

Chu Feng spoke casually and with ease, his tone as light as it was unconcerned.

As if he were merely recounting an insignificant little fact.

Lin Yuxin, as proud as a swan, felt a storm surge within her heart. Her beautiful eyes were filled with shock and uncertainty as she gazed at Chu Feng.

How did he know the cauldron would explode?

Could it be that he heard about it from some teacher beforehand? That must be it.

Otherwise, given his terrible test scores, how could he possibly answer a question that even I failed to solve?

Those who had been waiting to laugh at Chu Feng—Liu Ping and his friends—were completely dumbfounded.

"Damn, could this guy be possessed by the Alchemy Venerate? Such a difficult question, and he answered it fluently."

Even Teacher Xie was staring at Chu Feng in shock—a gaze that seemed to want to strip him bare and examine him inside and out.

"Teacher Xie, you're looking at me so intently—are you thinking I'm pretty handsome? I think so too!"

Chu Feng's shamelessness was unparalleled; he even dared flirt with the teacher right in class.

"Handsome my *ss!" Xie Bing was so angry she ground her teeth. Initially, she'd planned to stump Chu Feng with this difficult question and then teach him a lesson. Instead, she'd been outdone by his arrogance.

"Chu Feng, how many categories are there of elixirs? What are they?" Today, she was determined to see how long this student with five points on his test could stay smug.

"Elixirs are split into two main categories: those for consumption that enhance cultivation or heal injuries, and Talismanic Elixirs that grant special abilities!"

"Regular elixirs include Meridian Expansion Pill, Qi Nourishing Pill, Pei Yuan Elixir, Serenity Elixir, and so on. Talismanic Elixirs include the Flying Elixir that grants the power of flight, the Great Strengthening Pill that makes one incredibly strong, the Flame Burst Pill that can blow someone to smithereens, and so on!"

Chu Feng seemed like an entirely different person today, speaking knowledgeably and fluently, his grasp of both heaven and earth leaving everyone stunned.

His astonishing performance completely changed how the class saw him.

They simply couldn't believe it—this was the worst student in the class.

Xie Bing asked him several other difficult test questions one after another, and Chu Feng answered them all with ease.

Not only were his answers correct, but his explanations were comprehensive and detailed.

Sitting behind Chu Feng, Liu Ping's eyes flickered with Freezing Yin. "When did this waste become so capable?"

"I used ambergris last time to covertly provoke the waste, triggering the Yang Fire in his body, but not only did he not die—it seems he woke up!"

"D*mn it, this waste made me take a hit with a charcoal pencil, got my head bruised like a horn, and now he's showing off his remarkable talent for alchemy to overshadow me entirely. I must find a way to eliminate him soon, or I won't have answers for the Crown Prince."

Liu Ping's mind raced with plans on how to get rid of Chu Feng.

The class beauty Lin Yuxin's gaze toward Chu Feng no longer held disdain. Instead, it sparkled with surprise and curiosity.

She had initially thought that Chu Feng might have overheard the solution to her incorrect question from a teacher.

But now, it seemed unlikely.

Because it might be luck to answer one question. But to solve several highly challenging questions—this was definitely not luck, but a display of true knowledge and skill.

"Chu Feng, if you knew all those answers, how come you got them wrong during the test?" Xie Bing asked, puzzled.

"I don't know either! During class or exams, I just feel drowsy and want to sleep!" Chu Feng scratched his head awkwardly. Though he was making excuses, he wasn't entirely lying.

Since his reincarnation, four days had passed, and he still hadn't adjusted fully.

What's more, the Yang Fire hidden within his body remained unresolved. Like a ticking time bomb, it could erupt at any moment.

Chu Feng resolved inwardly to eliminate the Yang Fire hazard as soon as possible.

"Chu Feng, sit down! See me in my office after class," Teacher Xie didn't press him further.

See her in her office after class?

Could it be that she didn't want to punish me in front of everyone, but instead planned to scold me in her office privately later?

Yes, it must be because I accidentally glimpsed something I shouldn't have. She wants to warn me not to go spreading it around.

...

After class, Chu Feng walked carefully into Teacher Xie's office, feeling both nervous and hesitant.

Xie Bing cast him a cold glance and said icily, "Close the door."

Chu Feng immediately became alert, positioning himself strategically by the door while covertly preparing to bolt. There's no way he'd let Teacher Xie beat him up without resistance.

"I said close the door! Didn't you hear me?" Xie Bing's beautiful eyes flashed dangerously as she snapped at him.

"I'm afraid you'll hit me, Teacher!" Chu Feng decided to be blunt.

"Hmph, do you think leaving the door open means I can't hit you? Watch this!" Teacher Xie flicked her finger at him, releasing a stream of Sword Qi with a "shing!" sound.

Thud!

The Sword Qi left a two-inch-deep mark on the wooden door frame beside Chu Feng.

"Gulp~!"

Chu Feng couldn't help but swallow hard, his eyes full of fear. If that Sword Qi had hit him, it would've left a bloody hole in his body.

"D*mn it—if it weren't for the fact that I'm only a residual soul reincarnated, how could I possibly fear a mere Beginner Level Sword Master?"

Teacher Xie's face carried a hint of pride; someone as young as her having mastered a sword meridian and cultivated Sword Qi was undoubtedly a prodigy.

More than enough to dominate her peers.

"Shut the door, or I'll carve out a bloodstain on you instead. Your choice!" Xie Bing threatened coldly.

"Teacher, you're young and dazzling, while I'm handsome and charming. Just the two of us alone—closing the door like this feels inappropriate…" Chu Feng hesitated but didn't dare flee, knowing he could never outrun Sword Qi.
