Chapter 450 - Chapter 450: What Is Chen Xinjie Up To?

With the disappearance of the powers of destruction and life, the sea around Devil Island, which was originally pitch black, has now completely returned to its azure color.

However, the island itself remains dark, and it will take time before it returns to its vibrant green.

Leng Yaozhu and Yali walked all the way to the edge of the sea before stopping.

"Sister Yaozhu, thank you so much. I'm really glad it was Xia Yi. If it had been Wulin, I might have really ended up committing suicide." Yali sighed lightly.

Leng Yaozhu understood; Yali was telling her once again that she wouldn't commit suicide and was reassuring her.

"Yali, there's something I'm really curious about. Can I ask?" Leng Yaozhu said with a playful look in her eyes, her curiosity evident as she gazed at Yali.

"You can ask." Yali was taken aback. Even if Leng Yaozhu was curious, it wasn't the right time, but she still reluctantly agreed.

"Since you've agreed, I'll ask: What do you feel is different between Xia Yi and Yun Ming?" Leng Yaozhu asked, her gaze full of curiosity as she fixed her eyes on Yali.

"I..." Yali's chest heaved violently. "Leng Yaozhu, get lost."

"Sister Yali, no! Please satisfy my curiosity!" Leng Yaozhu clung tightly to Yali's arm, completely unafraid, saying, "It's just us sisters here. I won't tell anyone."

Looking at Leng Yaozhu like this, Yali forced a smile and said, " Sister Yaozhu, do you really want to tear apart all my dignity?"

"What does dignity have to do with it? We're sisters. It's okay to talk about intimate matters. We're sisters, and Yulai and I are also sisters. Look at Yulai, she's far bolder than you," Leng Yaozhu said nonchalantly.

"Leng Yaozhu, that's not bold, that's shameless." Yali snorted coldly. She had not understood Leng Yaozhu's behavior before, but after this incident, she realized that Leng Yaozhu's shamelessness had exceeded what she could comprehend.

"Maybe she really is 'shameless,' but you can never deny, Yulai lives more freely than any of us, sees things more openly, and her vision is far broader than ours," Leng Yaozhu said.

Yali fell silent. Indeed, she couldn't deny those points.

"Actually, I really envy Yulai. I want to be like her, not caring about anything, not thinking about anything, focusing entirely on my man. But nowadays, someone has to step up to carry the responsibility." Leng Yaozhu sighed softly, a trace of weariness flashing in her eyes.

She didn't want to compete with Gu Yue secretly, didn't want to always propose conditions to Xia Yi, but if she didn't do it, no one else would. Could she expect Yulai to do it?

Fortunately, Xia Yi understood her situation and never made things difficult for her.

That was the most touching thing for her.

"These things are no longer related to me." Yali shook her head vigorously. She had decided to distance herself from Shrek Academy, the Spirit Pagoda, Xia Yi, and the center of this whirlpool.

Then she would find a small village where no one knew her and live out the rest of her life.

She couldn't think about these big things. Once responsibility was involved, she might not be able to let go and would be unable to leave.

"Okay, let's not talk about business, let's talk about personal matters. Let's continue with the topic of Xia Yi and Yun Ming." Leng Yaozhu's expression changed quickly, and she became curious again.

"Do you really want me to say it?" Yali sighed lightly.

"People are curious, you know," Leng Yaozhu's eyes gleamed with gossip.

"Fine, Leng Yaozhu, you can trample on my dignity all you want. Okay, I'll say it. I'll tell you the truth. I've been married to Yun Ming for years, but I've never felt as joyful as I did this time." Yali gritted her teeth and coldly stared at Leng Yaozhu, asking, "Are you satisfied now?"

"No wonder, no wonder?" Leng Yaozhu didn't laugh but nodded thoughtfully.

"No wonder what?" Yali snorted.

"No wonder you didn't hesitate at all when you saw Xia Yi. You instinctively jumped at him, tearing and biting." Leng Yaozhu burst out laughing, completely ignoring the murderous look Yali shot at her.

"Leng Yaozhu, I'm going to tear your mouth off!" Yali charged at Leng Yaozhu, completely forgetting that she was a limit Douluo on the verge of becoming a god, acting like an enraged woman as she yanked Leng Yaozhu's fiery red hair.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Yali sis, take it easy!" Leng Yaozhu immediately surrendered, begging for mercy as she frantically tried to escape.

"Leng Yaozhu, you're just like your sister Leng Yulai, shameless and vile!" Yali refused to let go, chasing after her and seizing every opportunity to pull her hair and pinch her nose, showing none of the grace expected from a Spirit Douluo.

The two of them chased and fled, playfully fighting, and for a moment, it seemed like they had truly forgotten all the unhappy things.

After a long while, the two women finally collapsed on the sandy beach.

"Sisyer Yaozhu, thank you." Yali's voice was soft. She knew Leng Yaozhu had been guiding her. Although the method had made her grit her teeth, after all that playful fighting, the gloom in her heart had indeed faded a lot.

"I have good news and bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?" Leng Yaozhu spoke softly.

"What good news could there be now?" Yali smiled bitterly.

"There is. Long Yeyue got what she deserved. After you were saved by Yulai, she was controlled by the lustful old demon's power and took your place." Leng Yaozhu smiled slightly.

"What? Yeyue took my place?" Yali froze, her mind going blank for a moment.

She knew the relationship between Long Yeyue and Chen Xinjie very well.

Even though Yun Ming had died, what happened between her and Xia Yi—if not for Leng Yaozhu's guidance, she might have already committed suicide.

Chen Xinjie was still alive, and after what happened to Long Yeyue, she should have been ashamed enough to kill herself.

And then there was Tang Wulin.

Yali froze again, having no idea what kind of consequences this might trigger.

"That's right. She treated you like that, and in the end, she reaped the consequences. For you, this should be good news, right?" Leng Yaozhu asked with a smile.

"If you say it's good news, then it's good news," Yali replied with a bitter smile as she slowly stood up.

"What are you going to do?" Leng Yaozhu asked.

"I'm going to see Wulin." Yali took a deep breath.

"You haven't heard the bad news yet?" Leng Yaozhu was still lying on the beach, watching Yali leave without appearing to be in any hurry.

"Say it." Yali turned slowly after taking another deep breath.

"The bad news is that your Yeyue and godson are fine. None of them needed comfort like you did. They've already left Devil Island and are heading toward the East Sea." Leng Yaozhu said with a smile.

"What's so bad about that?" Yali was taken aback.

Shouldn't that be good news?

"The East Sea is the Sea God's Legion's station." Leng Yaozhu gently reminded her.

"You mean they went to find Chen Xinjie." Yali's face turned pale instantly.

"There's no use in rushing. You occupied my man for ten whole days and slept for three more. Long Yeyue fought alone for half a day. At their speed, if nothing unexpected happens, they should have already met with Chen Xinjie by now. Even if you go now, it'll be too late to collect the body." Leng Yaozhu said.

Yali froze and collapsed to the ground. Wait... she suddenly looked up at Leng Yaozhu, "You mean Long Yeyue fought off a group of enemies?"

"Quite literally," Leng Yaozhu shrugged. "You don't know how chaotic it was, especially after Cao Dezheng joined. It was out of control—everyone was going after anyone, men and women alike."

"Shrek, Shrek!" Yali's eyes went blank. Although Leng Yaozhu hadn't gone into detail, she could imagine what had happened.

"Wait. Why did they go to find Chen Xinjie?" Yali suddenly realized. Could it be that Shrek Academy and Tang Sect disciples had dishonored Long Yeyue, and now Long Yeyue wanted Chen Xinjie to personally deal with them?

It couldn't be!

Yali shook her head violently.

The Seven Great Devils wouldn't agree to that.

Cao Dezhi wouldn't agree either.

So what exactly was Long Yeyue's goal?
