Chapter 76: First Update
"What a cruel man you are, Mr. Exorcist."
Chang Wei suddenly heard a voice in his head. He remained calm, realizing that it was Warrant Officer Schrödinger intruding into his thoughts.
In response, Chang Wei decisively blew his own head off.
When he regenerated, Warrant Officer Schrödinger was gone, clearly having tested Chang Wei's attitude toward them.
"Mr. Chang Wei, are you alright?"
Seras had just witnessed something terrifying. Fortunately, she knew Chang Wei was an exorcist, so she didn't panic or consider calling the authorities. However, she couldn't understand why he had just killed someone.
"Killed someone? I didn't kill anyone," Chang Wei said calmly to Seras.
"But that man…"
Seras instinctively pointed at the remains of Warrant Officer Schrödinger's corpse, intending to argue that it wasn't human. Yet, when she looked again, Schrödinger's body was gone.
This was the result of self-observation overriding death. No matter how he was destroyed—be it by being blown apart or crushed to dust—his body would vanish in the blink of an eye because he was still technically alive.
That said, Chang Wei wasn't entirely sure if his earlier act of absorbing energy had successfully gained him any of Schrödinger's traits.
Perhaps this situation had only exposed his abilities further, potentially alerting the Last Battalion to his capabilities.
For now, though, things were fine as they were, with no risk of further exposure.
"What just happened?"
Seras was utterly baffled. She had seen, with her own eyes, that man being pulverized into pieces by an invisible force. There had been blood, flesh, and shattered remains everywhere—she'd even thrown up from the sight!
And yet now, it was as if it had all been an illusion, leaving her doubting her sanity.

The Last Battalion: Millennium
Millennium, also referred to as the "Last Battalion," was an organization composed of surviving Nazi remnants who had fled to South America.
The term Millennium symbolized a "Thousand-Year Reich" and was synonymous with the "Last Battalion."
Led by the "Major," this battle group consisted of 1,000 members, all transformed into vampires. Among the officers, there were even werewolves.
In addition to SS battalions, the organization had elements from the Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, and SS Fallschirmjäger. It also deployed spies and supporters worldwide, ranging from expendable pawns to operatives responsible for vital strongholds.
Millennium originated from Hitler's secret order, "Führer Directive 666," and was led by the Major, tasked with researching artificial vampires. They had even collaborated with individuals linked to the Vatican, trading immortality for assistance.
Initially, they could only produce flawed ghouls. After being defeated by the Hellsing Organization during the war, they fled to South America, where they finally perfected their research.

At Millennium's base, a short, plump, blond-haired, blue-eyed man was seated on a single-seater sofa. His hair was styled oddly, with a section on the left front folded like a sheet of paper.
Impeccably dressed in an expensive white suit, matching long coat, gloves, and glasses, he wore a black tie adorned with a red gemstone.
Warrant Officer Schrödinger appeared beside the Major out of thin air, leaning against the sofa and striking a playful pose.
"Warrant Officer Schrödinger, welcome back. How did it go?"
The Major, known as Montana Max, was unusually kind to Schrödinger, whom he regarded as a trusted subordinate rather than a disposable pawn.
Originally an SS Major executed by Soviet forces at the end of World War II, Montana Max had been reconstructed by a scientist. All but his brain had been mechanized, granting him immortality while preserving his humanity—a fact he took immense pride in.
He had sent Schrödinger to investigate Chang Wei, an exorcist who had piqued Alucard's interest. The Major was meticulous by nature and wanted to understand Chang Wei's character and behavior fully.
"Failure. I didn't even manage to say a word or see anything before being killed twice—it was excruciating!" Schrödinger complained bluntly.
"Is that so? I apologize for the inconvenience. So, he's the unapproachable type?" the Major responded insincerely, while beginning to analyze Chang Wei based on the limited information.
He had initially suspected Chang Wei might be similar to Alexander Anderson, a fanatical priest who viewed non-humans as enemies and heretics. Such individuals could potentially be manipulated into forcing Alucard into using the River of Death.
However, Chang Wei had ruthlessly killed Schrödinger—who could be considered partially human—twice, without hesitation. Rather than an exorcist, Chang Wei seemed more like an assassin.
Schrödinger elaborated on Chang Wei's abilities. The first time, he had been obliterated by an invisible force. The second time, believing he could avoid violence by entering Chang Wei's thoughts, Schrödinger attempted mental communication.
After all, how could someone expel something from their own mind? And with this method, Schrödinger could observe a person's thoughts and surroundings.
Yet, Chang Wei had simply blown his own head off, effectively erasing his consciousness and forcing Schrödinger out.
Realizing Chang Wei was a ruthless individual with whom negotiation was futile, Schrödinger had abandoned the mission and returned.
"He blew his own head off?"
The Major immediately deduced that Chang Wei might also be an immortal entity. However, the nature of the invisible force remained a mystery.
No ordinary human could survive decapitation. Even vampires and ghouls couldn't achieve that.
High-level vampires could regenerate, but only if their hearts remained intact. Someone like Alucard could withstand sunlight and silver bullets, requiring a stake or something similar to pierce his heart to count as a single "death."
And Alucard had millions of lives to spare.
"We'll need a detailed plan. Where is he now?"
The Major's lips curled into a smile as he asked Schrödinger about Chang Wei's current location. Immortal monsters weren't exclusive to his enemies, after all.
"He seems to be here, in this part of Britain," Schrödinger replied, revealing Chang Wei's position through his unique observational abilities.
