Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Meeting Bulma

"Welcome to West City TV. Recently, Capsule Corporation has launched a new line of capsule products, including houses, weapons, airplanes, cars, and more. We can proudly announce that anything in the world can now fit into these tiny capsules. Head to the mall and get yours today!"

The beautiful host continued to enthusiastically promote Capsule Corporation's products, but John Doe had other things on his mind.

John couldn't believe he had crossed over into the world of Dragon Ball. Was this the kind of world ordinary people lived in?

This was a world where the strong roamed, and even the gods were outclassed. The crucial thing was that John couldn't quite remember the Dragon Ball storyline clearly. He had only watched Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z when he was a child, and as for Dragon Ball Super, he had only heard bits and pieces of the plot without ever watching it.

John pondered his situation and how he would survive the threats of King Piccolo, Frieza, Cell, and the like.

(Shouldn't you introduce yourself, like what you did in your previous life, and how you crossed over into the Dragon Ball world?)

(Is an introduction necessary? No, because no reader cares how I crossed over into the Dragon Ball world.)

Over the past few days, John had confirmed that he didn't have any of the typical transmigrator benefits, no system, and no golden finger.

John smacked his forehead in realization. In the Dragon Ball world, the ultimate golden finger was the Dragon Balls themselves. With the Dragon Balls, what else did he need?

Other golden fingers might have conditions for their use, but the Dragon Balls were straightforward. Gather the seven Dragon Balls, make a wish, and it would be granted without any conditions.

In the Dragon Ball world, the first golden finger was being a Saiyan. If Son Goku was the author's beloved child, then the Saiyans were the beloved child's siblings. It was like a small cow flying a plane—an incredible advantage.

To survive in the Dragon Ball world, John had to turn himself into a Saiyan. Only then would he have the means to confront these cosmic powerhouses.

With that in mind, the first step was to find the Dragon Balls, and for that, he needed the Dragon Radar.

Only Bulma could create the Dragon Radar, so getting to know her and convincing her to join the quest for the Dragon Balls was John's top priority.

Bulma was quite famous in West City, being the daughter of the Capsule Corporation's chairman, Brief. He was the richest man in the world.

As the chairman's daughter, it wasn't difficult for John to gather information about Bulma.

Bulma was currently 16 years old and a freshman at West City High School. John vaguely remembered that she was 16 when she first appeared in the story, and it was during summer vacation that she set out to collect the Dragon Balls.

It had already been three months since the start of the school year, and there was still over a month left until summer vacation. John needed to make sure that Bulma learned about the Dragon Balls before she discovered them herself in the original story.

That evening, after school let out at West City High, John positioned himself along Bulma's route home.

Soon, Bulma approached on her magnetic hoverbike. John took aim and fired a coin, hitting the bike's magnetic suspension device.

The bike lost power and came to a sudden stop, throwing Bulma off.

"Ah!" Bulma couldn't believe her bad luck, falling off her bike like that.

As she was about to faceplant, she closed her eyes in fear.

Suddenly, she felt herself enveloped in a warm embrace, and she didn't feel any pain.

A soft, magnetic male voice reached her ears, "Are you okay?" It was filled with concern.

Bulma opened her eyes and saw a face that disappointed her.

She hadn't expected the person with such a pleasant voice to have such an ordinary appearance.

The face John had taken over wasn't ugly, just a bit plump, giving him a rather ordinary look.

"I'm fine, thank you. You saved me," Bulma said politely, despite her disappointment in his appearance.

After expressing her gratitude, Bulma walked over to her bike to inspect the problem that had caused it to lose power.

John wasn't bothered by her reaction. He knew that with his current appearance, it would be difficult to quickly win her over. The fact that she wasn't repulsed by him and had even thanked him was already a good start.

John walked up to Bulma and asked, "Is your bike okay? Can you ride it?"

Bulma had already discovered a coin wedged in the footrest of her bike, which had cut off the magnetic field generator.

"It's broken," Bulma said. "The magnetic field generator was damaged by this coin. I'll have to take it home and repair it." She pressed a button on the bike.

With a "bang," the damaged bike transformed into a small capsule and fell into Bulma's hand, which she then placed in her backpack.

John offered, "Do you have another vehicle?"

Bulma shook her head. "I didn't expect the bike to break down, so I didn't bring another vehicle. It looks like I'll have to walk home. Fortunately, it's not too far."

"I can give you a ride," John said. "There's a gang of robbers in West City lately, so it's not safe."

The mention of the robbers was true; a gang had recently robbed a bank in West City, so John wasn't worried that Bulma would think he had ulterior motives.

Bulma nodded in agreement, and the two of them set off toward her home, which was also the headquarters of Capsule Corporation.

Bulma was a cheerful girl who got along with everyone. Although John wasn't her type, that didn't mean she would dislike him. "What's your name?" she asked. "I'm Bulma."

"I'm John Doe," he replied.

"John Doe, your name really suits your appearance. It's quite ordinary," Bulma said bluntly, not holding back.

John immediately feigned shock, clutching his chest and exaggerating, "Your words truly hurt my heart! Regardless, I did save your life!"
