Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 :Secrets

Faith's POV

Two days. That's how long it's been since Felix's lips crashed into mine, leaving me breathless and bewildered.

I'm still reeling from the shock, my mind a jumbled mess of emotions. But as I wander through the garden, the warm sun on my skin and the sweet scent of blooming flowers enveloping me, I feel a sense of calm wash over me.

That's where I met Max, my new unlikely friend.

He's just a voice program, but there's something about his wit and sarcasm that makes me feel like I've known him forever.

"Hey, kid, what's up?" he says, his voice echoing through the garden's speakers.

I smile, feeling a sense of gratitude towards this quirky AI. "Just enjoying the flowers, Max," I reply, my voice barely above a whisper.

But despite the peaceful atmosphere, my mind keeps drifting back to Felix. It's been two days since I've seen him, and I'm trying to convince myself that I don't miss him. "You're lying," my mind sneers, and I roll my eyes in frustration.

I'm also still trying to wrap my head around that dream, and what my dad said about a prophecy.

What did he mean?

What kind of prophecy could possibly involve me?

I sigh, feeling the weight of uncertainty settling heavy on my shoulders.

As I walk through the garden, I find myself drawn to the lilies.

They're my favorite flowers, with their pure white petals and delicate golden centers.

They symbolize purity, innocence, and rebirth , all things that feel utterly foreign to me right now.

I reach out a hand to touch the soft petals, feeling a sense of peace settle over me. But even as I stand there, surrounded by the beauty of nature, my mind keeps wandering back to Felix.

Who is he, really?

And what does he want from me?

I stood amidst the blooming flowers, their sweet fragrance enveloping me in a sense of calm.

The warm sun cast a gentle glow over the garden, and for a moment, I forgot about the uncertainty that had been plaguing me.

That's when Azil appeared, her bright smile and infectious energy a stark contrast to my contemplative mood.

"Heyyyy" she said , throwing her arms around me in a tight hug.

I hugged her back, feeling a pang of affection for this girl I barely knew.

By her side stood a petite brunette with piercing green eyes and a curvy figure. Azil pulled back, a mischievous glint in her eye.

"This is Ashley," she said, nodding towards her friend.

Ashley's gaze was guarded at first, but as we talked, I saw glimpses of a sharp wit and a quick smile.

Azil chatted excitedly about David's party, her voice bubbling with anticipation. But beneath her enthusiasm, I sensed a flicker of anxiety.

As we strolled through the garden, the tension dissipated, replaced by a sense of camaraderie. Azil suggested we head to her room, and I agreed, curious about this new space and the girl who occupied it.

As we stepped into Azil's room, I felt like I'd entered a different world.

The space was warm and inviting, with vibrant colors and plush furniture that seemed to hug me in all the right places. It was a far cry from Felix's stark, monochromatic lair.

We settled in, chatting and laughing like old friends. But then Ashley's expression turned mischievous, and she fixed me with a sly grin. "You kinda took my ex, but it's okay," she said, her voice dripping with amusement.

My mind skipped a beat. Was she talking about Felix? I felt a flutter in my chest, but Ashley's next words put me at ease. "I'm married now, so don't take it the wrong way."

She winked, and I let out a breathless laugh.

But then Ashley's tone turned serious, and she leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone

"Now that Dove is back, aren't you kinda scared she'll do something crazy?" Azil swooped in, whacking Ashley with a pillow and sending her into a fit of giggles.

I watched, confused, as the two friends dissolved into a fit of laughter. "Who's Dove?" I asked, feeling like I'd missed a crucial piece of information.

Ashley's grin faltered, and she exchanged a look with Azil.

"Oh, never mind," Azil said, waving her hand dismissively. "She doesn't know what she's talking about." But I sensed a hidden undercurrent, a secret that Azil and Ashley shared, but I was still in the dark about.

I locked eyes with Ashley, my stare insisting she spill the truth. But before she could utter another word, Felix materialized in the doorway, his presence sucking the air out of the room.

Ashley's voice died on her lips, and she shrank back, her eyes wide with fear.

Felix's gaze swept the room, his eyes lingering on Ashley before settling on me. "Come," he said, his voice low and commanding.

I raised an eyebrow, my mind racing with the conversation Ashley and I had been having. "You can't just interrupt us," I said, my tone dripping with annoyance.

Felix's expression didn't change, but his voice took on a slightly sharper edge. "You will come back. Just come." I sighed, feeling a surge of frustration, but I knew better than to defy Felix.

I stood up, my eyes never leaving his, and followed him out of the room.

As we left, I caught a glimpse of Ashley's face, her eyes wide with fear, and Felix's glare, his eyes flashing with anger.

I felt a pang of sympathy for Ashley, who had been silenced and intimidated by Felix's mere presence

What had she been about to reveal? And why was Felix so determined to keep it a secret?
