Chapter 223 - Chapter 223: The New Plane Lord and Life Core of Douluo Star

The divine artifact Spirit Eyes—a rare and uncommon spiritual-type artifact—came with god-level skills of both the spiritual and life attributes.

Together with the other five divine artifacts—Twin Daggers of Light and Shadow Dragon, Star Staff, Star God Sword, Baozi, and Holy Angel Sword—each inherited some of the abilities of their forging materials from when they were alive. All were extremely practical and contributed significantly to Ditian's efforts in updating the "King's Treasury."

The swift wind passed by, taking away the lingering heat of the battlefield.

The remaining inheritance seeds of the God of Destruction and the God of Life were also collected by Ditian.

At that very moment, divine power surged around Ditian.

It was as if his entire being had ascended, about to rise to the Divine Realm.

"Dong! Dong! Dong..."

A fresh and powerful heartbeat thumped steadily, echoing like war drums.

Behind him, a divine ring shimmered with divine light and appeared.

The tenth divine ring, which had previously been in a semi-illusory state, solidified at this moment.

This marked the completion of the process involving Gu Yuena's transmission belt, his own God Dragon Reverse Scale, and the devouring of the Golden Dragon King's divine core.

Everything that needed to be resolved on the Douluo Plane had been dealt with.

That said, Ditian still felt an inexplicable emptiness inside.

But that emptiness came and went quickly.

After all, it was only the rebellious forces within the Douluo Plane that had been eradicated. The true challenge—facing the upper god circles—was merely a matter of time.

The future was far from secure; Ditian still had much to do.

The newborn Divine Realm was in disrepair, in dire need of rebuilding and growth.

The reincarnated God Kings of Destruction (Zi) and Life (Lu) held two of the Five Supreme Divine Artifacts—Destruction Scepter and Ancient Tree of Life—which Ditian needed to locate.

The former God Kings of Evil and Good, who had stood at the peak, were still courting each other in the Yin-Yang Crown Plane. Their artifacts—Judgment Scale and Heart of Goodness—also awaited collection.

Ditian could not afford to "keep dancing and celebrating" just yet.

His priority was to plan the future development of the Divine Realm.

The original Douluo Divine Realm had been gone for quite some time. Across over a hundred subordinate planes, countless beings had likely reached the limits just beneath the god level.

Moreover, Zi, the God King of Destruction, had once wanted to accelerate the Divine Realm's expansion partly because it could no longer accommodate more ascenders from the lower planes.

This supported the theory that the lower planes were already teeming with powerful beings at the limit.

History also backed this up:

Twenty thousand years ago, before the era's protagonists had matured, there were only three Limit Douluos, two of whom had reached their ranks through divine trials.

Ten thousand years ago, during a period when the fate-bearers were still dim, there were still only three.

Fast forward to modern times, and suddenly the number of Limit Douluos jumped to double digits.

While there might be other reasons, it was undeniably a boom era for powerful beings.

Once Ditian allowed ascension access through the Divine Realm, there would undoubtedly be a surge of new gods.

After all, after ten thousand years of unrestrained development, the Divine Realm Ditian created had inherited everything from the original Douluo Divine Realm, plus its hundred-plus subordinate lower planes.

The new Divine Realm resembled a new dynasty—filled with vacant divine positions, waiting to be claimed, offering broad space for growth.

But Ditian could not recklessly allow just any lower-plane expert to ascend. He was preparing for a war with the upper god circles in ten thousand years—he did not need traitors or fence-sitters.

The three mandatory conditions for joining the Divine Realm: loyalty, loyalty, and f*cking loyalty.

To test that loyalty, Ditian planned to turn the Douluo Continent Plane into a frontier outpost—a trial ground for ascenders.

Originally, he already intended to develop the soul tool technology of Douluo.

Now, Douluo would also serve as an ascension checkpoint and relay station for new gods.

Additionally, the soul beast race of the Douluo Plane must have a direct path for ascension.

Loyalty from them was unquestionable—Ditian could exercise full control, with a single command.

The only weakness: intelligence.

Awakening spiritual consciousness was tied to the fundamental laws of the Douluo Plane—only a God King could modify it.

And this, Ditian had to do himself.

He acted immediately—decisively and clearly.

He descended upon Douluo Star.

There had been two previous Plane Lords of Douluo Star:

The first was born from the Douluo Plane itself, but was eventually killed by Tang San, and his power absorbed by Tang Hao, making him the second.

The second, Tang Hao, was killed by Ditian.

When Ditian last left, no third Plane Lord had yet been born.

However, the moment Ditian returned to Douluo Star, he immediately sensed the birth of two new beings:

One was the new Plane Lord, born directly from the will of the Douluo Plane.

The other was the Tree Spirit, born from the Tree of Life Ditian had transplanted into the core region of the Star Dou Great Forest, now the new Life Core of the Douluo Plane.

The moment they were born, both possessed god-level power, at the Second Rank of Divinity.

Given Douluo's connection to the new Divine Realm, both had the potential to ascend to First Rank gods.

Even more unexpected: they shared an incredibly close bond with Ditian.

Upon sensing his presence, they instantly materialized and approached.

"My Lord."

"Benefactor."

When Ditian laid eyes on them, his expression shifted with surprise and recognition—unexpected yet logical.

The one who called him "My Lord" was the new Plane Lord—an old acquaintance, the Mountain Dragon King, a mature dragon that naturally ruled among dragonkind.

He had no wings, with a massive body like a mountain. On his back shimmered illusions—sometimes ancient landscapes, sometimes bustling cities where life once thrived.

It made perfect sense: the land surface of Douluo, where all terrestrial life dwelled, was formed from the Mountain Dragon King's body.

Thus, it was natural that the Douluo Plane chose him as its new Plane Lord.

Ditian then looked toward the Life Core.

What he saw was a humanoid being, though not quite human—more like a spirit, a nature-born fairy.

She wore a white bustier top with gold accents, with vine-like tattoos on her chest and a neck ring around her neck.

Her skirt transitioned from white to green, with light green ribbons fluttering gently.

Her long white-gray hair was adorned with leaf-shaped green ornaments. The tips were green, with a braid woven like a vine whip. She had pointed elf ears, and her sleeves also had gold trim, hanging slightly.

When she saw Ditian looking at her, she smiled gently.

"Benefactor."

Her voice was clear and ethereal—fresh like nature itself.
