Liu Ying felt her head spinning and she kneeled down to stabilize herself.
Yang Changtian noticed and rushed to help her up , but just before he could reach her , Liu Ying collapsed onto the floor with a thud.
"Liu Ying ! Are you okay ? " Yang Changtian yelled trying to shake Liu Ying awake.
Song Lian and the others also rushed to them , " What happened ? "Song Lian asked.
Yang Changtian shook his head , " I just saw her kneel , so I came over to check up on her , but before I reached her ,she collapsed. "
Song Lian turned to Ling , " Go and get Sister Lv. "
Ling nodded and rushed off to find Lv Ling , she was their doctor. Ling didn't have to go far , he found Lv Ling treating a lady that had fainted when she saw the decapitated head of the Village Elder.
" Sister Lv , come quick , someone fainted ." Ling yelled .
Lv Ling lifted her head and nodded, " I'll be right there , just let me finish here."
Ling sighed exasperated , " Hurry up , or those people will have my head, " he whined.
Lv Ling saw the panic on his face , so she decided to hurry up. After she was done with the lady , Ling rushed her inside. The first thing spotted was the Village Elders head that had taken down .
She closed her eyes and shook her head to get the disturbing image out of her mind.
" Sister Lv , what are you doing ? Hurry up ! , " Song Lian urged her , his voice panicking. .
Lv Ling opened her eyes soon and turned around to see a figure on the floor. She rushed over and pushed Song Lian out of the way. When she got closer she realised that this was the young lady that broke the stone door open. While she looked masculine initially due to her tall build and cold aura, once Lv Ling saw her closer it was clear she was a lady , her features were feminine , paired with her build and aura she had a unique androgynous beauty, able to captivate both genders.
Song Lian noticed that she was dazed so he poked her in the back hard. " Sister Lv , wake up and hurry ! "
Lv Ling shook her head to regain her composure and she turned to Sing Lian " What happened ?" she asked.
Song Lian shook his head , " We don't know , she was about to go outside , but she suddenly knelt down , and then collapsed. "
Lv Ling checked her pulse, it was steady and calm . " Well , it looks like she's asleep, " Lv Ling said truthfully, " Does she have any underlying conditions ? "
Everyone shook their heads , they had no idea.
Yang Changtian turned to a disciple , " Go bring Jin Wei and Da Xiong here."
The disciple complied and rushed outside to bring them over.
Lv Ling continued to examine Liu Ying , but she didn't find anything strange.
Suddenly the group was interrupted by a loud yell.
"Senior ! Senior ! " It was Jin Wei , " Where is our senior ?! " he yelled. And then they heard rushed footsteps heading over in their direction. .
Jin Wei rushed in , followed by Da Xiong ,the both of them were panting hard , and considering how fast they got here , they must've run here.
They saw Liu Ying lying on the floor unconscious and Jin Wei's eyes almost popped out.
They ran over and pushed Song Lian and Kong away , " What happened ? " Jin Wei screeched, almost piercing Lv Ling's eardrums .
Lv Ling shot him a dirty look but Jin Wei ignored her.
" We don't know , Doctor Lv says that it seems like she's asleep , but she wants to know if Liu Ying has any underlying conditions that might have triggered this reaction ? " Yang Changtian asked them.
Jin Wei and Da Xiong thought for a while. " Our Seniors told us that Senior Liu has some unusual needs . In addition to her not eating any other meat except fish and chicken , she also can't stay in extremely crowded and noisy places. Senior Lu told us something about her not being able to process all the information entering her brain, " Jin Wei mumbled.
Da Xiong nodded , " That's right , I remember , apparently , crowded and noisy places overwhelm her senses and she develops major headaches."
Yang Changtian remembered Liu Ying rubbing her head continuously. " That's right , she was massaging her head a lot since early."
Song Lian immediately remembered her tense expression from before. "Yes, I remember that too," he replied meekly. Back then, he had thought Liu Ying was angry at the others' yelling.
Lv Ling , shook her head , " It may be true she gets headaches but I doubt she'll faint just because of it. Try to remember, are there any other possible triggers ? "
Everyone fell into silent contemplation again. Suddenly Yang Changtian remembered something , " She threw up blood earlier ."
Jin Wei and Da Xiong whipped around to stare at him , " She did what ?! "
" We were fighting with some evolved Crazies and they weren't budging so Liu Ying reversed her personal skill and absorbed the vital energy from them. Later she threw up something , I could've sworn it was blood , but she told me that it wasn't blood , it was just her body rejecting the unclean energy."
Jin Wei and Da Xiong shook their heads , " That was blood , while restoring people's energy does not affect her , the reverse is another story , she is forcefully draining the life energy of a living being , that has a side effect ," Jin Wei replied softly.
Da Xiong nodded his head solemnly, " Senior Lu told us sometime back , just when the Department was being established, they were confronted with some formidable enemies , and seeing that they were on the verge of losing, Senior Liu used her skill to drain the life energy of the enemies , while they won , Senior fell into a long sleep, only waking up 20 days later. "
Yang Changtian felt heavy, " Is there really no other way to wake her up ? "
Da Xiong , Jin Wei and even Lv Ling shook their heads.
" Mr. Yang , she's done a lot already , so it would be wise to let her rest for a bit, she deserves it , besides now that the hardest part is done , we can take care of the rest ourselves, " Jin Wei replied.
Da Xiong saw the worried look on Yang Changtian's face and he walked over , " Mr.Yang , please don't worry too much , last time Senior went against more than 100 people , this time it was only two Crazies , so I'm positive she'll wake up soon and she'll be fine too."
Yang Changtian nodded, tightening his lips.
Just then Mo Ling came back , just as he entered , he saw the unconscious Liu Ying , gasping he rushed over , " What happened to her ? "
Lv Ling sighed and explained the whole situation to him. Standing up Mo Ling patted his chest , " So she's going to be okay right ?"
Lv Ling , Da Xiong , Jin Wei and even Yang Changtian nodded.
" Mo Ling , did you complete your task ? " Yang Changtian asked him.
Mo Ling nodded , " Yes Senior Yang , I ordered the rescue team to start documenting the survivors , they're almost done , so I'm here to ask you what we should do next ?"
" Let's escort them back to the village now , while the sun set is still a few hours away , we must get back before dark , ask everyone to gather their things and meet outside the cave within an hour. "
Mo Ling nodded and rushed off. Lv Ling also excused herself to gather her things.
Yang Changtian turned around and ordered someone to pack up the head and remains of the Village Elder , he had a feeling that Liu Ying might want to see and examine them when she wakes up later .
After packing up , Yang Changtian went over to pick Liu Ying up . He picked her up. She was heavier compared to the regular lady , but to him that difference was negligible. .
Seeing him picking Liu Ying up , Jin Wei and Da Xiong rushed over.
" Mr. Yang , allow us to take our Senior back. We don't want to bother you, " Jin Wei began.
Yang Changtian shook his head, " Please , it's no bother . It's the bare minimum I can do after how much she's helped us." Yang Changtian was about to step outside but he was stopped by Jin Wei and Da Xiong again.
" Mr. Yang , please hand our Senior over to us, she would prefer us taking her back, " they stated again , their voices were somewhat demanding.
Yang Changtian finally relented , they had a point , he couldn't even be considered a friend , and these two were her subordinates , so it was in fact more suitable for them to carry her back.
Yang Changtian finally nodded and handed her over. First Jin Wei gathered her things then Da Xiong walked over , he removed his cape and covered Liu Ying with it before taking her from Yang Changtian's arms.
While he was relieved of Liu Ying's weight , his heart was still heavy , and he had no idea why he was feeling this way.
He accompanied Jin Wei and Da Xiong to the door and watched as their backs disappeared outside.
Song Lian was staring at him with a complicated look , but ultimately he decided to stay away from this matter.
Yang Changtian wordlessly gathered his stuff and he also stepped outside, he spotted multiple women and children carrying bags outside escorted by the rescue team.
When he exited the cave he spotted Liu Ying , she was placed on a rock slab underneath a huge tree. Yang Changtian looked around and he saw Da Xiong and Jin Wei instructing their juniors to collect all the arrows they had shot at the Crazies.
They spotted Yang Changtian and nodded at him. Yang Changtian nodded back , he then heard a voice calling him.
" Senior Yang ! We're almost done , we can depart in a quarter hour, " Mo Ling bounced close to Yang Changtian .
Yang Changtian nodded at him , " Jin Wei , Da Xiong , we leave in 15 minutes," he yelled over to them.
They nodded and rendered the juniors to speed up , before joining in themselves.
Meanwhile the survivors were filing out of the cave one by one , they were carrying everything they owned, some were even carrying live chickens.
Yang Changtian wanted to tell them to leave the unnecessary stuff behind and they could come back to get them later , but he decided to let them be , they were finally free to go into the outside world after so long.
He just watched on as the women walked out of the cave and finally , Song Lian and the others came out.
Song Lian spotted him and nodded ,indicating that they were done.
Yang Changtian nodded back and turned to Jin Wei and Da Xiong, they were also done , just packing the arrows back into the crate along with the crossbows.
Yang Changtian gave them sometime and then when Jin Wei gave him a thumbs up , he turned back to the others, " We will now move out ! " he yelled.
Da Xiong walked over and picked Liu Ying up again . Jin Wei and their Juniors joined them, and they began to descend the mountain. Yang Changtian followed suit with the others , Song Lian and Mo Ling were placed behind the group to guard against possible attacks from behind.
Soon the group reached the clearing where they left their horses.
" Give the horses up for the ladies , we'll go back on foot, " Yang Changtian ordered the group , then he remembered something and turned to Jin Wei and Da Xiong , " Jin Wei and Da Xiong , you two can ride the horses."
Da Xiong shook his head , " Mr. Yang I am unable to carry Senior with me as the burden on the horse would be too great , so Jin Wei will be the one carrying her back ,so I too will go on foot."
Yang Changtian nodded .
Jin Wei walked over to his horse , he mounted his horse and adjusted himself to make space for Liu Ying. After he was done , Da Xiong placed Liu Ying on the horse, and Jin Wei adjusted her to make the journey back easier.
Meanwhile , the others were helping the ladies mount the horses , after the ladies were comfortably seated , they grabbed the reins of the horse and started to lead them back to camp.
Liu Ying's horse sensed its owner and rushed over to Jin Wei , the horse nuzzled Liu Ying and when she didn't respond , Jin Wei could've sworn it shot him an accusatory look.
A disciple came over to bring Liu Ying's horse , but it refused. Seeing this Jin Wei turned his horse and trotted over to Yang Changtian . Liu Ying's horse followed behind him closely.
" Mr. Yang ! I forgot to tell you , Senior's horse usually refuses to allow anyone else to ride him , so it won't be possible to have someone else ride him," Jin Wei informed Yang Changtian.
Yang Changtian turned around and found Liu Ying's horse constantly nudging the unconscious Liu Ying in Jin Wei's arms. He walked over , but the horse just shot him a look before ignoring him completely.
Yang Changtian chuckled , " He has his owner's mannerisms. "
Jin Wei sighed heavily nodding , " I heard that he's been with Senior since he was a tiny foal. And he is famous back in the department for the constant dirty and unimpressed looks he gives people. "
While they rarely see Liu Ying , her horse Wu Ye was famous , he was an enormous stallion with a shiny black coat , with the occasional dusting of grey specks. And the most importantly of all , he was extremely loyal to his owner , who also only gave him the finest things. Even the feed he got was top quality. As a result he was a spoiled horse , only letting Liu Ying ride him. Back then Jin Wei and Da Xiong also wondered just how a horse could make such expressions, but when they first saw Liu Ying , they immediately knew that she was surely Wu Ye's owner. Why ? oh because she had the same expressions.
Yang Changtain chuckled again , he just imagined Liu Ying and Wu Ye side by side shooting him the same unimpressed look. He then slowly walked over to Wu Ye , who surprisingly let him close. Yang Changtian patted Wu Ye , " Big Guy , your owner isn't feeling well so she can't be with you now , if you don't mind coming with me, I would like to take you back to camp " he whispered to the horse patting it to coax it.
Wu Ye turned to look at him , and neighed softly and shot him a suspicious look. Yang Changtian chuckled yet again and patted Wu Ye some more and finally Wu Ye stopped nuzzling Liu Ying. Wu Ye turned and nudged Yang Changtian with its head. Yang Changtian patted its nose and grabbed its reins. And he slowly began to lead him away .
Jin Wei followed them , Wu Ye turned back occasionally to check up on its master and to shoot nasty glares at Jin Wei.
Li Cheng and Zhou Zilong were over at the river when a disciple came running in informing them that the group was returning and that they had multiple others with them .
Li Cheng and Zhou Zilong rushed over to welcome them. The survivors were startled to see people stepping out of the miasma infested village , but when they looked closer , they realised that these people were completely normal and unharmed. Then Song Lian's earlier words about the whole miasma fiasco being a trap set by Yang Changtian and the others echoed through their brains and they sighed in relief.
Li Cheng saw Yang Changtian leading the group , he was leading Liu Ying's horse and he didn't see Liu Ying anywhere , and for a moment Li Cheng felt his heart drop, he rushed up to Yang Changtian and grabbed his arm hard. " Brother Yang, what happened to Ms. Liu ? "
Yang Changtian nodded behind him and Li Cheng saw Jin Wei approaching them with an unconscious Liu Ying in his arms. Li Cheng turned to look at Yang Changtian .
" I'll tell you the whole story later , but don't worry , she's just extremely exhausted and she'll likely be asleep for a few days. But we brought the survivors back , while we freshen up , can you ask the others to set up sufficient lodging for the survivors ? " Yang Changtian asked , he really wanted to take a shower now.
Li Cheng nodded and instructed his group to stop the fog and focus on building lodgings for the newcomers.
Da Xiong approached Jin Wei and took Liu Ying from him before going inside , he walked over to Liu Ying's tent and laid her down on her bed. Jin Wei followed suit and placed her belongings on the ground next to her bed.
" We better get someone to change her clothes , " Jin Wei said , " She does hate being dirty after all."
Da Xiong nodded , " Yes , let's go ask one of the ladies to help her."
Jin Wei nodded and the both of them went outside to look for Song Lian.
They spotted him talking to Li Cheng and Yang Changtian. Mo Ling was closeby tying Shaman Hu to a tree.
" I really didn't know about this , she's always been the crazy type , but I really didn't expect this from her," Song Lian said , his voice panicked. Yang Changtian nodded and Li Cheng approached him and patted him on the back. Li Cheng then spotted Jin Wei and Da Xiong.
" Jin Wei ! Da Xiong ! " he waved them over. " Is Liu Ying settled in ? "
" That's actually why we're here , " Jin Wei replied.
Li Cheng and Yang Changtian looked at them curiously , urging them to continue.
" Senior hates being dirty , so we were hoping we could ask one of the ladies to change her clothes," Jin Wei continued.
Yang Changtian nodded and turned to Song Lian , " Do you think that would be possible ? "
Song Lian nodded , " Yes , that would be possible , just let me go talk to the ladies. "
Song Lian found Lv Ling , Huarong and Xinyi chatting at the dining area. He approached them , " Sisters , how are you all settling in ? "
They all looked up and burst into smiles seeing who it was , " Brother Song ! The people are all so respectful and nice to us. "
" Yes they were even kind enough to cook something for us. "
Song Lian nodded , glad that they were already fitting in.
" Listen ladies , there's a small situation. Do you all remember Ms. Liu ? "
Lv Ling nodded while the other two were confused. " The young lady who broke the door, " Lv Ling reminded them. " By the way , how is she now ? " she asked, turning to Song Lian.
Song Lian shook his head , " Still asleep , but the thing is , I wonder if you ladies could help change her into clean clothes ? They don't have any other women and we obviously can't do it."
Lv Ling nodded , " We don't mind , she has helped us , so it's the least we could do to thank her. " Xinyi and Huarong also followed suit, agreeing , it was a simple request.
Song Lian thanked them again and again before leading them back to Yang Changtian and the others.
" Mr. Yang ! These sisters agreed to help ," Song Lian informed him.
Yang Changtian turned to them , " Ladies , thank you , this means a lot to us."
Xinyi blushed and just waved her hand , Lv Ling just rolled her eyes and went over to Jin Wei and Da Xiong, " Please lead us to her , and if possible can we get some towels and water too. "
Jin Wei and Da Xiong agreed , while Jin Wei led them to Liu Ying's tent , Da Xiong went off to get some water.
Jin Wei lifted the tent's entrance and let the ladies through.
Lv Ling spotted Liu Ying on her bed , and she was wrapped up like a mummy. " Let the poor woman breathe for heaven's sake ," she yelled at Jin Wei and went over to unwrap Liu Ying from the robe.
Xinyi and Huarong also approached Liu Ying , she was sweating . Lv Ling checked her temperature , " She likely just felt too stuffy , she's not running a fever. Also where are her clothes ? "
Jin Wei breathed a sigh of relief and nodded , he walked over to a leather bag in a corner and handed it over to the ladies.
Xinyi accepted it and opened it. She pulled out multiple sets of clothes , all in different shades of blue ,with exquisite detail and embroidery. Xinyi ran her hand over one particular robe , it was deep blue with silver and gold embroidery , depicting a landscape.
Huarong also looked at the clothes shocked , she hadn't seen such flashy and expensive clothes before.
Lv Ling saw it and sighed , " She's from a rich family right ? Why is she even here ? "
Jin Wei nodded , " Senior is from a rich family , but she's also a core member in our department . His Majesty the King himself dispatched her, otherwise she doesn't really participate in field missions. She usually stays back and provides us with the information and stuff ," Jin Wei explained.
" The King dispatched you all ? " Xinyi gasped.
Jin Wei nodded and just then Da Xiong entered the tent with a bowl of water and some towels.
" This guy , myself, the other juniors and Senior Liu over there were dispatched by His Majesty to help Mr. Yang and Mr. Li , we're from the Imperial Investigation Department and they're from the 2 great sects. "
Huarong and Xinyi gasped again , even though they lived in the isolated North , they had heard stories of them , the two great sects had various legends written about them , with some saying that the current head disciples were both top fighters. Unfortunately news about Hei Jingyou's situation had also reached them , twas a pity. Meanwhile the Imperial Detective Department , despite their very recent establishment , had already gained an excellent reputation.
Lv Ling walked over and grabbed the water from Da Xiong , " Gentlemen , I must ask you all to leave now. "
Jin Wei and Da Xiong immediately excused themselves and went outside , seeing that they couldn't do much here , they decided to go ahead and help Yang Changtian and the others.
Lv Ling slowly untied Liu Ying's outer robe and with the help of Huarong , she removed it and threw it over to Xinyi. Then she united the inner robe , slowly peeling it away. Huarong gasped loudly and Lv Ling inhaled sharply , seeing their curious reactions , Xinyi also stole a peek , " Oh god …" she gasped , " What in the world happened to her ? "
Liu Ying's body was covered by some gnarly scars , several stab scars were visible on her lower abdomen contrasting hauntingly with her fair skin , while there were slashes on her upper arms and legs. Lv Ling shook her head and soaked a towel into the water and she began to wipe Liu Ying's body down. After she was done , she asked Huarong to help her turn her around , and her back was no better . Lv Ling closed her eyes again , she couldn't imagine what this lady had gone through . Huarong and Xinyi were tearing up . Liu Ying's whole back was covered with scars, all slash marks , somewhere deep , some were shallow . Lv Ling wiped her back down and laid her back down , Xinyi hurriedly handed her some white undergarments and with Huarong , Lv Ling dressed Liu Ying a white inner robe. Xinyi found a light and airy robe , coloured blue of course , all the way inside the bag . She handed it over to Lv Ling who dressed her in the flowy robe.
Then Lv Ling spotted her messy hair , so she sat Liu Ying up against the wall and she looked around for a comb . She spotted another bag over by the corner , and when she opened it , it had multiple hair accessories and combs. Lv Ling admired the harpins and decided to settle on a tree branch made of gold. She handed the bag to Xiny who excitedly flipped through the accessories , oohing and aahing at everything.
Lv Ling removed Liu Ying's hair crown and she began to brush her hair that had gotten slightly tangled . After she was done , she pinned Liu Ying's hair up in a simple hairstyle .
They were done so Lv Ling sent Xinyi and Huarong back first. She then sat down on the bed next to Liu Ying who was still sleeping peacefully. Lv Ling couldn't help her womanly instinct when she saw Liu Ying's scars , just who had hurt this poor girl that much . And most important of all, why was she hiding her true appearance ?
Lv Ling was not an ordinary doctor , she had a personal skill too, she could see through all types of sorcery and when she first saw Liu Ying , she immediately sensed a masking spell. Lv Ling held her hand over Liu Ying's face and closed her eyes as she chanted softly . She wanted to see Liu Ying's true face.
When she finally managed to see through the spell, she gasped. Hiding behind Liu Ying's face was a face she recognized very well; that face belonged to the person she was most grateful to.
When she was still a young girl , her whole clan was assassinated. They never intended to leave anyone alive , but Lv Ling snuck away to play with the village children. And when she came back , she saw some masked men cutting her father's head off, right in front of her weeping mother. Then to her horror , the masked men turned their attention to her mother. She saw one man preparing to stab her mother so she yelled and ran out pushing the man.
" Why is this rat still alive ," the man sneered .
Another stepped forward, " Well , well, well , it's going to be fun killing you two , " he giggled, sending shivers up Lv Ling's spine.
Lv Ling's mother hugged her tight , " It's going to be okay baby , I'll protect you. "
The men began to laugh at them like hyenas laughing at their prey. " Lady Lv , it's bad to lie you know." One of them mocked and grabbed Lv Ling's mother by her hair , ready to stab both of them.
Lv Ling and her mother both closed their eyes tightly , waiting for a pain that never came.
Lv Ling heard her mother gasp and when he peeked out she saw a tall figure in black and blue robes standing in front of them , the man that was about to stab them was frozen and he collapsed onto the ground motionless , blood pooling around him.
Lv Ling shivered and hid in her mothers embrace , she heard clanging and clashing sounds followed by multiple thuds. Then she heard footsteps approaching them. Lv Ling held her mother tighter, they had no idea if this newcomer was a friend or foe.
But surprisingly Lv Ling heard her mother breathe out a sigh of relief. She peeked out curiously and she saw a person wearing a gold mask looking at them . The figure slowly kneeled in front of them and bowed. " Mrs. Lv , I apologise for being late ," a soft feminine voice drifted from the figure, surprising Lv Ling further. Was this a lady ? Lv Ling looked at the figure curiously.
" Not at all Lady Hei , please don't blame yourself for this , my husband repeatedly ignored your warnings . I am eternally grateful that you came to save me and my baby."
The figure turned to look at Lv Ling, her eyes twinkling , Lv Ling knew that she was smiling at her so she smiled back.
She took Lv Ling into her arms and helped Mrs. Lv stand up. She led them outside and escorted them to the Bihou sect's sub branch . After making sure mother and daughter were settled down , she sent some people to clean up and give the dead a proper burial.
Lv Ling was curious about Hei Jingyou's appearance so she once snuck into Hei Jingyou's quarters while she was bathing and hid. After a while, Hei Jingyou finished bathing and stepped outside , looks like Lv Ling's luck was good. Hei Jingyou had removed her mask to clean it . Lv Ling was mesmerised by her face , it was not what she expected at all , she had a heart shaped face with chubby cheeks , her lips were full with a beauty mark on the right bottom lip. Her eyes were black , and had a feline look to them. Her appearance reminded Lv Ling of a tiger, majestic yet cute. Lv Ling wanted to get a closer look so she tried to move closer , but she knocked over a small table . Hei Jingyou whipped around , the relaxed aura around her was gone, replaced by a dangerous aura. Her sharp eyes softened when she saw who the intruder was.
Lv Ling hid her face looking guilty , and Hei Jingyou approached her and picked her up chuckling , " Look who I caught, a small mole who lost her way."
Lv Ling hugged her tightly , " I'm sorry sister, I didn't mean to," she sniffled.
Hei Jingyou chuckled again and patted her on the back , " If you are really sorry young lady , promise me something "
Lv Ling sniffed again and nodded eagerly .
Hei Jingyou smiled at her and inched her cheek softly , " Older sister doesn't like showing her face to others , so I want you to keep today's incident a secret. Remember if you say this to anyone , you , your mom and even myself would be in trouble. "
Lv Ling nodded vigorously , she held out a pinky finger, " I promise sister , if I break my promise I will always be plagued by bad luck."
Hei Jingyou chuckled and patted her on the back , " Now now baby , you don't have to be that harsh."
Lv Ling shook her head , resolute about her harsh promise. So Hei Jingyou could only relent. After making sure they were safe , Lady had people escort them over to their relatives' home.
Lv Ling has always been eternally grateful for Hei Jingyou , hadn't it been for her that time , she wouldn't be alive , Lv Ling always wanted to meet her again and repay her , so after completing her education , she wanted to go to Hei Jingyou to repay her ., but halfway there she got the devastating news that Hei Jingyou was attacked and disappeared , for years she held onto the belief that she might run into her again , but alas with the years her hopes faded out too.
But here she was , looking just as radiant as ever, she never aged, unlike Lv Ling who was now a full fledged adult and not the snotty brat Hei Jingyou met all those years ago.
But why was she hiding , weren't these people here her old friends ? And what exactly happened 20 years ago ?
Lv Ling shook her head to clear it , it was not her place to give Liu Ying's secret away , so she decided not to tell anyone. But her heart filled with joy realising the fact that God had given her a chance to repay Hei Jingyou.
Lv Ling reached out to touch Liu Ying's forehead that creased. " Lady Hei , I'm eternally grateful to you , I vow to keep your secret and help you in the future," she whispered.
Liu Ying's forehead finally softened , as if letting Lv Ling know she was grateful.
Lv Ling remembered the scars on her body and she began to tear up , " Don't worry Lady Hei , I'll help you get rid of all those scars. But just what happened to you , who did this to you ?"
A single tear dropped down , landing on Liu Ying's hand. Lv Ling quickly wiped it away and after calming herself down , she decided to head outside to clear her head.
Just as she stepped outside two arms grabbed her shoulders startling her , she looked up to see Song Lian, his eyes wide with panic. Yang Changtian , Li Cheng , Jin Wei and Da Xiong were all behind him , all with identical faces of worry and panic.
Lv Ling spotted Xinyi and Huarong behind them looking meek, ' They really couldn't keep their mouths shut huh..' Lv Ling thought to herself.
" Sister Lv , is what they said true - " Song Lian began but abruptly stopped, " Were you crying ?! Is it that bad ? "
Lv Ling closed her eyes and exhaled loudly , and nodded.
Yang Changtian suddenly rushed into the tent followed by Li Cheng.
