Chapter 152 - Chapter 150: The Agreed Duel, Jehart vs Asemu

The Baize and Diva maintained their speed, following behind the MS units. As the VEGAN MS entered the main cannon range of the two ships, they opened fire to cover the MS units ahead.

"How strange..." the CIC of Diva remarked while looking at the radar display.

"What's wrong? Report any situation directly!" Mireille scolded.

"Projecting on the main screen, Captain, the battlefield situation is quite odd," the CIC replied.

The radar display appeared on the main screen, and everyone noticed the unusual distribution of enemy and friendly markers.

The situation ahead was going smoothly; wherever the Dawn Gundam, Flag Gundam, G-Titan, and Gundam AGE-2 passed, it could be described as barren land. The front of the encirclement was torn apart in no time, opening a path for the troops to break through. However, the area with Luna Gundam and the three Adele II units in the rear was completely the opposite. Although the friendly units were all intact and systematically destroying enemy machines, the efficiency was extremely low, contrasting sharply with the front lines.

"Do we have battle data?"

"Coming right up... done."

Battlefield data appeared, and everyone was astonished at why Yurin's Luna Gundam had such low combat data, with a zero kill count, which did not align with their understanding; meanwhile, the data for the others was gradually increasing, albeit slowly, but steadily.

"Yurin, this shouldn't be... could it be!" Mireille pondered for a moment and figured out the key, but to be safe, she had someone pull up real-time footage from that area.

Sure enough, Luna Gundam was surrounded by the three Adele II units, occasionally firing a shot but completely missing the enemy machines, while the three Adele II units were steadily eliminating enemy machines without any worries.

"Indeed, but this is a bit too childish, isn't it?" Mireille shook her head with a wry smile, lamenting Yurin's boldness in daring to train newcomers in such a situation.

"Connect to Luna Gundam's communication."

"Yes!"

"Mireille Captain."

"Colonel Yurin, our ship and Baize have entered the combat zone," Mireille said seriously.

"Understood." Although not explicitly stated, Yurin understood Mireille's meaning; since Diva and Baize had joined the battle, the training could come to an end.

"Captain! B543 reaction, a suspected VEGAN unit has appeared behind the enemy encirclement... approaching at three times the speed! Target identified as Major Yang Hui's Dawn Gundam!"

...

"Captain! An enemy machine is approaching you from the B543 direction, at three times the speed of Dorados!"

"Huh?" Yang Hui was momentarily stunned, the curve of his lips rising even more, "Three times the speed, Jehart, you really came."

Yang Hui knew that Jehart's target was definitely him. Jehart, piloting an MS, was not the overall commander but a warrior, just like Graham back in the day, filled with a thirst for strength and excitement for strong opponents.

"But unfortunately, your opponent is not me." With that thought, Yang Hui connected to Asemu's communication: "Asemu, intercept the enemy machine coming from the B543 direction."

"Enemy machine?" Asemu was confused.

"A machine at three times the speed, Jehart is coming; go meet your old friend."

"Jehart!" Asemu was startled, his gaze immediately becoming resolute, "Don't worry, I will definitely defeat him."

"Yes, go ahead and let him see your resolve." Yang Hui knew Asemu would not be Jehart's match, but he wouldn't undermine his confidence; that was Jehart's job.

The strong performance of Yang Hui and the others indeed dealt a significant blow to Asemu, but this blow was different from what Jehart would inflict on him.

First, Yang Hui and the others were elders, with age, experience, and qualifications that placed them in a different league. Even if Asemu couldn't see how great the gap was, it was still a given. Not being able to see the distance would not motivate Asemu to move forward; instead, it would suppress his growth rate. But Jehart was different; he had not fully matured yet, and the gap between him and Asemu was still visible. Being peers could provide Asemu with greater motivation.

Second, there was an agreement between Jehart and Asemu; their grievances needed to be resolved by themselves.

"Yes!"

Gundam AGE-2 moved towards the direction of Jehart, while Yang Hui had no time for anything else and continued to launch attacks against the remaining VEGAN forces.

It must be said that the deterrent effect of Yang Hui and Graham was still significant. Not long after the battle began, the pre-arranged encirclement was torn to shreds. If there were excellent commanders, they could still organize the remaining troops to regroup, but unfortunately...

VEGAN's technology was indeed more advanced than the Federation's; the research, quantity, and development of X-Rounders were far ahead of the Federation. However, when it came to outstanding commanders... it seemed there really were none.

The only commanders who had shown their faces were Jehart and the later Zanard, but whether it was Jehart or Zanard, they seemed more like MS pilots than commanders.

In all the operations, they hardly commanded at all, instead handing over command to their subordinates and piloting MS into battle themselves.

Thus, the disorganized troops continued to be eliminated by Yang Hui, Graham, and Woolf, unable to mount effective counterattacks, already showing signs of collapse.

"That's it... huh?" Yang Hui noticed on the radar that the VEGAN signals surrounding Yurin and the others were rapidly disappearing.

Yang Hui had been paying attention to the situation on Yurin's side from the beginning, but he didn't intervene. Even if it required protecting three people, Yurin could easily handle it. However, if she remained calm, it was definitely for training purposes; after all, this wasn't their first time doing such a thing.

But now the situation had changed; either Yurin believed that the training for the newcomers had met the requirements, or there was another situation that required a quick end to the battle.

Regardless of which, Yang Hui no longer needed to delay.

"Graham, Woolf, this area is up to you; I'm going to destroy the enemy battleship," Yang Hui ordered.

"Understood."

"Go quickly."

"Be careful, especially you, Woolf."

"Hi hi, I got it."

After the floating cannon eliminated its target, it circled back around Dawn Gundam, following it towards the VEGAN fleet in the rear.

Meanwhile, from the B543 direction, Asemu also collided with his fated rival.

Jehart was still excited, finally having a machine that could keep up with his speed, but the sudden alarm interrupted his joy.

"Enemy machine approaching? From this position? That's a Gundam!"

"Jehart!"

Asemu's furious roar erupted over the public frequency as Gundam AGE-2 shot towards Jehart, trailing a long flame.

"Asemu!"

Seeing Asemu charging in, Jehart abandoned his plan to settle things with Yang Hui, swiping his hand across the beam Jeddra gun, condensing the beam that should have been shot into a sharp sword.

"Bang~! Zzzzz..."

The Jeddra sword clashed with Gundam AGE-2's dual swords, the inertia from the high-speed collision causing both machines to be locked in a stalemate, enduring the tremors from the impact as they tried to push each other back.

"Jehart, is that you? Jehart!"

"Asemu, and so what?"

Both machines pushed against each other, forcing the other back, but immediately collided again, two streaks of red and blue light tracing a beautiful picture in the cosmos, the sparks from the collision serving as the perfect finishing touch.

"This time, I will definitely defeat you! Jehart!"

"Then come and try!"

Neither of them noticed the excitement and exhilaration on their faces, especially Jehart, who had completely cast aside the battle. He only wanted to fight Asemu now, their agreement, their resolve, and the intense belief clashing to see who would come out on top.

Gundam AGE-2 charged forward again, sword raised, while Jeddra sheathed his sword and fired two shots at Gundam AGE-2. Fortunately, Gundam AGE-2 instinctively sidestepped, using its shield to cover its body, blocking Jeddra's sudden shots.

"Seen through! Just like last time..."

Asemu was quick to react, shielding himself while slowly retreating, also transforming his sword into a gun, preparing to counterattack.

But just as he moved his shield aside, the alarm blared, and Jeddra's face filled the entire screen.

"What..."

"Bang~!"

Jeddra kicked out, striking Gundam AGE-2 in the abdomen, the immense force sending Gundam AGE-2 flying, crashing directly into a meteorite.

"Gotcha!"

Jeddra followed closely behind, transforming his sword again, the tip aimed directly at Gundam AGE-2.

But Asemu was not the same Asemu from the original plot; having been trained by Yang Hui and Graham since childhood, how could he be easily taken down like this?

He pressed the pedals to the floor, pulling the control stick, and Gundam AGE-2 erupted with intense flames from its back, the powerful thrust propelling Gundam AGE-2 upward, narrowly dodging Jeddra's lethal strike.

"Jehart!"

Gundam AGE-2 aimed its gun at Jeddra.

"Asemu!"

Jeddra's attack missed, but he did not pause, the beam destruction cannon on his chest shining with deadly brilliance.

In the next second, two lines of pink and yellow collided, a blinding light making it impossible to open one's eyes.

"Ugh~!"

"Beep beep beep..."

Asemu struggled to open his eyes, unable to assess the situation, but hearing the urgent alarm, he instinctively pushed the control stick forward.

"Swish~"

"Zzzzz... Boom~"

"Ah~!"

The violent tremors made Asemu scream, the impact on his back indicating that he had crashed into a meteorite once again.

A second or two later, the bright light faded, and Asemu opened his eyes, but all his movements froze, his face contorted with unwilling anger.

At that moment, Jeddra stood before Gundam AGE-2, his left arm reduced to space debris, Gundam AGE-2's Solid Sword resting at the severed end, while Jeddra's sword pointed at Gundam AGE-2's cockpit, needing only a gentle push to pierce through the armor on his chest.

"It's over, Asemu."
