Chapter 5 - Why would I lie to you

Ganyu was still wearing the Liyue-style outfit. Although, at Yilan's suggestion, the hem and chest had been redone so as not to attract other people's attention, it still looked very attractive.

She sat there with her legs crossed, her fleshy thighs and plump, round buttocks forming an alluring curve. Her tight black stockings revealed a flesh-colored hue that was very suggestive.

However, unlike her suggestive figure, the girl's temperament was very noble and elegant. She looked like a virtuous wife as she cooked seriously.

Under the orange candlelight, the girl who was cooking intently had a quiet beauty.

Yilan reached out and pulled Ganyu's hair, which made the girl look angry. But after he took the opportunity to scratch her nose, her face turned red again, and she pretended to be angry and said:

"If you keep messing around, I won't give you any food later!"

"I'm sorry, I was wrong!"

Yilan admitted his mistake decisively and seriously admired Ganyu's graceful posture while she cooked. However, after a while, he couldn't help but stretch out his hand and play with her fluffy ice-blue hair.

"..."

As long as that guy didn't go too far, she would let him be!

There was nothing she could do. This guy was always so shameless.

He was like this when he first became her disciple, and like this again when he took her shopping and gave her gifts.

He didn't even ask for her opinion!

Although…

Ganyu pursed her delicate lips, which were as thin as red cherry blossoms. The candlelight was dim. Yilan gently stroked her horns and long hair. A light blush appeared on the girl's face.

Finally, the food in the pot was done.

Ganyu cooked the fried noodles she had prepared in advance until they were soft, and added diced bacon, Liulidai, Qingxin, Snapdragon, and other condiments.

Just the right amount of oil floated on the clear noodle soup, and the Qingxin and Liulidai exuded a light herbal aroma, which balanced out the salty and fishy taste of the bacon.

A mouthful of noodles entered the mouth, the flavor was rich and satisfying. Even though conditions were limited, the dishes made by Ganyu were still very delicious.

If she ever got married, she would definitely be a virtuous and capable wife.

"How does it taste?"

Ganyu cooked a bowl of vegetarian noodles for herself and ate it in small bites while asking Yilan for his opinion.

Yilan smacked his lips and said, "It was delicious, but seeing your sad face has made me lose my appetite."

"Is it that obvious…" Ganyu touched her cheek and said embarrassedly.

"It's not that obvious, but you, little coconut sheep, can never hide your thoughts on your face."

Yilan put down his bowl, reached out, and gently scratched the bridge of Ganyu's nose. His index finger lightly traced between her eyebrows. This intimate touch made Ganyu subconsciously close her eyes, and then she heard the boy's voice, as gentle as jade, sounding in her ears.

"I hope you can tell me everything that's on your mind. I'll share your burdens, no matter what."

When Ganyu opened her eyes, she found Yilan looking at her with gentle and serious eyes. Those black eyes, as deep as the starry sky, seemed to wrap around her completely.

With his encouragement, Ganyu finally began to speak.

"You know, Yilan, I'm responsible for managing the logistics of the migration team.

But the storms along the way are putting too much pressure on logistics, and with the occasional demonic invasions, the food reserves are stretched to the limit.

We originally planned for three meals a day, but now we can't even manage two. Marching in the heavy rain consumes a lot of energy.

Just today, I saw an elderly couple quietly leave the group so their children would have enough food. They were looking for a quiet place to wait for death.

Although I saved them, if this continues…"

As she said this, Ganyu's voice was filled with sadness.

She was a very kind-hearted half-immortal and couldn't bear to see the people of Liyue suffer.

But at that moment, a pair of warm hands suddenly held her small hands. Yilan looked into her eyes, now moist with sorrow, and said softly:

"If it's only a problem of this magnitude, Ganyu, you don't need to worry."

"Hey, Yilan, do you have a solution?"

Ganyu's cyan eyes lit up with surprise.

She didn't doubt Yilan's words.

Although they had only been together for a little over a month, Yilan already occupied a very high place in her heart. To her, he seemed like someone who knew everything and could solve any problem easily.

Facing Ganyu's hopeful gaze, Yilan immediately shared his solution.

"You know, I have the power to purify all filth.

During this time, many monsters came to harass us. They caused a lot of losses, but we also gained a lot of monster corpses—

For example, Liar Flowers, Slimes, and some Chi Beasts.

Normally, these creatures are edible. In the game, there are even dishes made with Slimes.

But these are not ordinary times.

This is a great war between demons. Liyue is the land with the most demons fighting over it. Demons die here all the time.

Their bodies and wills contaminate everything after death, leaving behind deadly toxins.

In the game, the Five Yakshas of Liyue went mad simply from being tainted by the karma released from killing these monsters.

So normally, these things are inedible now.

But…

"You know, I have the ability to purify all filth. As long as I purify them, things like Liar Flowers, Slimes, and even Beasts can be eaten."

"The energy in these monster corpses is much greater than that of regular food. It's enough to meet people's daily physical needs."

Yilan told Ganyu his solution, but Ganyu didn't look happy. She held Yilan's hands and asked with concern in her cyan eyes:

"But will this put a burden on your body, Yilan? Absorbing toxins into your body must have a negative effect, right?"

"It's fine, don't worry."

Yilan spoke in a very light-hearted tone. "Didn't I absorb the demon's residue before? Look, ten days have passed. Do I seem any different?"

Seeing Ganyu still looking worried, Yilan gently reached out and scratched her nose:

"Would I ever lie to you?"
