Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: A New Dawn

Deep within the headquarters of the Root division in Konoha, a hidden chamber sat in darkness.

On a bed surrounded by various instruments lay a handsome young man of about seventeen or eighteen, asleep. Despite his unconscious state, he radiated life. His delicate, flawless skin would make even women envious.

His long hair looked recently trimmed, though uneven in places. Slowly, he opened his eyes. At first, there was confusion in his gaze, but it quickly gave way to excitement.

He yanked the monitoring devices from his arm and stared at his smooth, pale skin. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, unable to be suppressed.

"Danzo-sama…?" A voice rang out, tentative yet filled with joy.

Danzo Shimura turned to see Pakura standing nearby. He beckoned her forward, and she slowly approached the bed.

When he raised his hand, she instinctively lowered her head.

"You've done well, Pakura. I can always trust you." His hand settled atop her head, stroking her hair in praise, as he always had. She resembled a contented cat at that moment.

"How long have I been asleep?" Danzo asked as he withdrew his hand and began detaching the wires from his chest.

"Six months, Danzo-sama."

"I see," he muttered, a trace of gravity entering his gaze.

The memory of that soul attack lingered. He knew the assailant—without a doubt, it had been the Sage of Six Paths himself. Nagato's Rinnegan may have been powerful, but Danzo didn't believe he had the ability to invade someone's spiritual space. This proved that the Sage wasn't simply watching over the Shinobi world from afar.

"Danzo-sama, your eyes…" Pakura, still clearing away the last of the instruments, froze as she saw Danzo's new eyes.

His Mangekyō Sharingan shimmered in his sockets, the intricate, otherworldly patterns shifting with his mood. They were mesmerizing—so much so that it felt as though her very soul was being drawn in.

Danzo, too, was keenly aware of the immense power brimming in those eyes. The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan... This body could finally contain the full might of his soul. His evolution was complete.

He glanced at Pakura, smiling.

"Pakura, make sure to stay by my left side. Don't fall behind," he teased.

"I've always been working hard!" she huffed, puffing her cheeks in mild defiance.

Danzo couldn't help but ruffle her hair again, his mood soaring.

The power of his right eye, the Mangekyō technique Tenshin, could attack an enemy's soul directly, turning his own spiritual energy into a deadly weapon. For Danzo, it was a trump card that few had survived—Obito, Black Zetsu, and even the Sage of Six Paths had felt its effects.

However, the technique wasn't without drawbacks. Each use placed immense strain on the Sharingan, potentially rendering it unusable for an extended period.

His left eye's Mangekyō technique, Tenkusari, allowed him to drag an enemy's soul into his consciousness. The full extent and risks of this ability remained unknown, though. Thinking back to the massive Rinnegan he'd seen in that space, Danzo surmised that a strong enough soul could resist—or even seize control.

Still, these twin powers felt tailor-made for him. As his soul had grown stronger through various enhancements, there were now few in the Shinobi world who could match him.

The Mangekyō Sharingan—the eyes that reflected one's reality and heart. Danzo had never considered himself just the original Danzo. He was a soul occupying a once-ailing body, transformed by the system's repeated rewards.

After several days of adjustment, Danzo concluded that all the waiting had been worth it. This reincarnation had elevated his power to an entirely new level.

In addition to his enhanced Mangekyō Sharingan, his Wood Release had evolved to "Version 2.0." This new Wood Release was brimming with vitality and could absorb chakra on its own—far from the crippled version he had used before.

Now, he could wield nearly all of the First Hokage's Wood Release techniques effortlessly, save for the Sage Mode-enhanced ones.

But his greatest potential lay in the remnants of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's body—the fragments of Yin-Yang Release she had split from herself. Fusing Hashirama and Uchiha cells had triggered a catalytic reaction.

In the vast underground laboratory, Danzo stood before two massive glass tanks.

Within one floated a chakra-formed tentacle, a manifestation of the Eight-Tails' power. It cowered at the sight of him, despite having no will of its own.

Danzo felt it clearly—the beast's fear and his body's growing hunger to absorb it. It was as if it belonged inside him.
