"Using the Extremis virus to fix your appearance?" Kagura tilted her head.
"Hmm… that's actually an interesting idea."
"Right? I'm a genius, after all! Because I'm Deadpool! And Deadpool is the greatest superhero in the world!" Wade puffed out his chest proudly.
"So, what do you say, little miss Flashblade? Any interest in falling in love with the world's strongest superhero, getting married, having kids, and living happily ever after—"
"Shut up!" Kagura interrupted, looking completely exasperated. "Stop spouting weird nonsense!"
"Alright, alright! I surrender! For now." Wade raised his hands in mock defeat.
"But Deadpool never gives up! I have a warm heart and an indomitable spirit. A girl as amazing as you?"
"No way I'm giving up! No matter the mountains of swords or seas of fire ahead, whether your dad approves or not, I will make you my wife!"
"Are you done?! I swear I'll cut you down!" Kagura was visibly irritated. "Now focus—what do you know about A.I.M.?"
"Got it, back to business." Wade nodded.
"A.I.M. developed that thing called the Extremis virus, right? It supposedly heals all injuries and scars—an absolute dream come true for me!"
"So, I started investigating them, hoping to snag some Extremis for myself."
"Worst case scenario, if it backfires, I just explode. And hey, if an explosion actually manages to kill me, that's a win too—death is one of my life goals, after all."
"But as I dug deeper into A.I.M., I realized they weren't using the Extremis virus for good."
"Instead, they were turning it into a tool for assassinations and covert bombings. I've been tailing Eric Savin for a while, and those guys are seriously planting Extremis bombs everywhere."
After sharing his intel, Wade glanced at Kagura. "What about you, little Flashblade? Why are you after A.I.M.? Are you trying to cure someone too?"
"For world peace," Kagura replied flatly. "It's simple. They're endangering innocent lives, so I have to stop them."
"Wow~ Such a noble cause! A righteous, innocent, and adorable superheroine! AWSL!" Deadpool exaggeratedly shrugged.
"Well, even though our motives differ, we're on the same side here. How about we team up? Taking down those murder-happy scumbags benefits both of us."
Wade had a point.
And honestly, Kagura was curious—could the Extremis virus actually restore Wade's original face?
Even though his origins differed slightly, this Deadpool was still the real deal.
That meant his body was still a battleground between two powerful forces: his regenerative factor and his terminal illness.
His disfigurement wasn't just from burns. It was the result of his healing factor constantly clashing with his cancer.
If he lost his healing ability, his cancer would devour him instantly.
If his cancer were cured, his runaway cell regeneration would spiral out of control, leading to his body's destruction.
In short, Deadpool's near-immortality existed because his cancer and healing factor were locked in an endless struggle, keeping each other in check.
The cost? His grotesquely scarred appearance.
But what if a third factor entered the equation?
If Deadpool was injected with the Extremis virus, what would happen?
Extremis essentially reprogrammed DNA for enhanced regeneration.
If it were introduced into Deadpool's system, it might be possible to cure his cancer while stabilizing his healing factor, turning him from an unkillable mess… into an unkillable hottie.
Was this the legendary "Deadpool Restoration Project"?
Definitely worth a shot!
Of course, using A.I.M.'s existing Extremis formula wouldn't be enough.
Everyone knew their virus was unstable and unreliable. Kagura wasn't sure if it could precisely fix Wade's condition.
But if she could obtain an Extremis sample and modify it to suit Wade's physiology, the chances of success would increase dramatically.
Plus, studying Wade's healing factor could lead to breakthroughs in regenerative technology, potentially boosting the Avengers' combat capabilities.
"Hmm… looks like we really can work together," Kagura mused.
Nodding, she continued, "Alright, let's collaborate on this A.I.M. operation. You provide intel on their hideouts and movements. I'll handle the eliminations. Once we secure the Extremis virus, I'll help you with your… condition."
"Deal! Having little Flashblade's help is a huge win for me! I was struggling to track them all, and I'm not exactly great at direct confrontations either." Wade grinned.
"With you on board, A.I.M. is doomed! Snagging some Extremis is just a matter of time!"
…This Deadpool sure was getting cocky.
Kagura sighed internally. But then again, this was typical Deadpool behavior—fearless, reckless, and absurdly confident.
With "Argos" monitoring global Extremis outbreaks and Deadpool aiding in infiltration and reconnaissance, tracking and eliminating A.I.M.'s Extremis-enhanced soldiers would be much more efficient.
Previously, Kagura had to wait for enemies to activate their Extremis powers before she could intervene.
Now, with Deadpool's assistance, she could pinpoint and neutralize hidden threats before they struck.
"By the way, little Flashblade, doesn't your group have some kind of 'Avengers' thing going on? Can I join?" Wade suddenly struck a bodybuilding pose.
"I mean, come on, I'm an insanely strong, ridiculously handsome superhero! Surely I qualify, right?"
"No. Absolutely not." Kagura's rejection was immediate.
"Do your own thing. The Avengers have their own responsibilities. At most, we'll work together temporarily like this."
"What?! So heartless!" Wade dramatically slumped. "First, you reject my love confession, and now you won't let me join your club?! I'm gonna cry!"
Kagura was unmoved.
"No means no. I doubt anyone wants you in the Avengers. The other members definitely won't agree."
"I don't believe you!" Wade argued. "Let the readers vote!"
"Write here if you want me in the Avengers!"
"Write here if you don't!"
"Sure, maybe this poll won't mean squat, but who knows? The future might change!"
"What are you even talking about?!" Kagura frowned.
"It's late. I need to go. Happy Hogan was attacked, Mr. Stark's probably about to blow a fuse, and A.I.M. isn't going to sit quietly. I have a ton of work to do."
"You don't get it." Wade grinned knowingly. "The future… might already be changing."
