Liam's POV:
When I thought it was over, another wave of werewolves rushed toward me. Their hulking forms moved in perfect synchronization, eyes glowing like embers in the night. Unlike the ones I had fought earlier—who bore green eyes like mine—these were different. Their eyes burned red.
Beasts.
I barely had time to process it before they closed in, their snarls vibrating in my skull. A quick headcount put them at around thirty-five, maybe more. And they were all against me?
A sharp pulse of energy coursed through me, but even with this newfound strength, I knew I couldn't take them all down. Not alone.
The moment they pounced, the sky shifted. The moon, hidden behind thick clouds, broke free, bathing everything in an eerie silver glow. My breath hitched. This wasn't right. The moon wasn't supposed to be visible at this time of the month.
It had been tampered with.
