Reana's body swept the floor like a ragdoll, tumbling over broken stone and blood-streaked marble. She crashed into the steps to the dais with a bang and she groaned. For a moment, everything stilled. The air itself held its breath.
Blood ran from her mouth, her side, her brow. She coughed, body twitching as she tried to push herself up. Her vision blurred. Her limbs screamed. Her ribs throbbed, possibly cracked. But her wolf, the wild, vengeful beast inside her, was howling for more.
'Let me out!' Rea howled. 'You stand no change against her! Let me out!'
But Reana didn't listen.
"Luna!" Marian screamed again, her voice splintering into sobs.
"Luna, please, stop!" Kira tried to move, but the silver chains on her wrists burned and she whimpered.
Tara gritted her teeth, fists clenched behind her back and the little movement aggravated the silver around her wrist and she hissed and stilled.
